In this video I make an abstract painting with acrylic paint on a 80x80cm canvas.
There are many different phases in this painting which is a superimposition of layers on top of each other.
I use masking tape to create shadows.

I swear I wish I could find the painters tape he uses. Because I have probably watched all of his videos 3 or 4 times to figure it out. I have tried so many and nothing works like the type he uses. I am always so inspired by John’s work and my tape ruins it 😢
I have answered this question hundreds of times, I use TESA masking tape. But it's not the brand of tape that matters. ;)
