- The Flute Concerto No. 1 in G major (K. 313) was written in 1778 by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Commissioned by the Dutch flautist Ferdinand De Jean in 1777, Mozart was supposed to provide four flute quartets and three flute concerti, yet he only completed two of the three concerti: K. 313 being the first. The Andante for Flute and Orchestra K. 315 may have been written as an alternative slow movement for this concerto.
The piece is scored for a standard set of orchestral strings, two oboes (which are replaced with two flutes in the Adagio movement), and two horns. The piece itself is divided into three movements:
I. Allegro maestoso
II. Adagio ma non troppo
III. Rondo: Tempo di Menuetto.
The opening of the second movement is often known as resembling the famous theme from the Blue Danube Waltz by Johann Strauss, Jr., which was composed many years later. The piece is used as the hold music for the New York City 311 service.

ENJOY!!!! :D - Hudba
I still can't believe that Mozart hated the flute, still he composed many pieces and concerti for it, each of them with immeasurable beauty. For me, that's the definition of professionalism.
One of my favorite Mozart flute concertos! Genius, unparalleled in the world!
sounds like same tempo as Flute and Harp concerto - MY VERY VERY VERRRRRRRY FAVORITE Mozart composition - I LOVE Mozart's horn and flute compositions, its like Roger Federer's backhand .... a WINNER every time .... Mozart made a whole concerto for me!
Exquistely beautiful sound of the solo flute together with appropriate support by the orchestra. Marvelous!
Nadie iguala a Mozart en composiciones para un solo insrumento. Flauta , clarinete, fagot, oboe, trompeta...etc...
My favorite peice! Even more than symphony 40 in G minor

¡Cómo me encanta esta obra!
Amazing
magnificent!
for some reason, the first mvmt of this concerto sounds like the first mvmt of his clarinet concerto and the very beginning of the second mvmt is like his serenade gran partita
Excelente video amigo, me has ayudado mucho.
Es el gran concierto para este instrumento...genial !

Mozart, genie cheri, je t'aime.
Two solos during the Opera, and two solos during the overture, that's it. I was expecting more.
the flautist plays very well... very present...
Sin embargo la composición que me eleva el ánimo a los cielos, al espacio, al universo.. Es ésta!
true it really only has two parts where it is featured.
1 dislike???? For me it's the best perform of this concert in whole youtube!!!
mozart actually wrote a conceerto for flute AND harp!
I think that too, yet, when I first watch it I thought the flute would have a little bit more of protagonism, after all it's in the title.
does anyone know who/where this was performed?
Can anyone direct me to the flautist and cello combination playing Beethoven's beauties?
He actually wrote a letter to Leopold saying that the flute was "an instrument I cannot bear". Mozart is also famous for this statement: "the only thing worse than one flute in the orchestra is two flutes." He didn't meant the modern-day flute, but the flutes available in Mozart's days. they were horribly out of tune (even in a professional player's hands) he also disliked the harp because of it's intonation.

That tittle didn't depend on him... Hi just put the music
i heard a rumour that he didnt HATE the flute, but the girl he asked to play his flute pieces was a bad flute player, so he disliked HER flute playing XD poor girl...
He sure did, but it was just because he was in love in the harpist. Because he, we could say hated both instruments.
Omg.......
That happens also, when you can keep your work, your art, and your personal life apart.
I think his best work is "The Magic Flute"
