You wanna be using the bird's mercenary evicerate ability way more often, pretty much every time it comes off cooldown. It GIVES you battery power, rather than costs it. If you ever play this again, you should definitely use it way more often, especially if you think the battery charge time is to slow. Also, you can redirect Squall and cancel his attack if you target the wrong enemy or finishes killing an enemy he's already targeted. just press m5 and you'll see all the things you can tell him to do.

A tip about Pathfinder that i dont know if you noticed or not, but his m1 has a sweetspot where it deals increased damage. At the very end of his range, you hit an enemy with the tip of the spear, it does substantially more damage. Funny enough, the range for the sweet spot is actually displayed by the range for Focus Crystal, so if you keep enemies roughly in the line, damage goes up considerably! Though, that was the last time i played it, so they could have changed it.
