    I think a many of the coins in older holders where graded much more conservatively. You cold say the same thing about the coins in the old PCGS rattlers. CAC-Certified Acceptance Corporation. When I started collecting, I disregarded CAC and now, I rather have everything CAC certified if I could. I like the second opinion. Not sure I would go for the CAC holder yet, still thinking about it. Really great conversations in the video, thank you!

      Thank You Struck! I still have a lot to learn with graded coins but having fun on the way, I really like their design the new CACG holders, have a great weekend!

    The old ANACS holders are nice. They were the OG grading company. Yes very conservative by todays standards back in the day. A lot of people crack out old ANACS holders and grade them at PCGS or NGC. I got a ton of coins i'm gonna send in CAC one of these days.

    Great video bro. My membership to CACG just got approved a few days ago and they are local to me so they will be who I use for my grading

    Soapbar/Soapbox are one of my favorites as well. I do like ANACS. I have picked up very nice coins for cheaper with ANACS....and I'm cool with that

    But I got a Membership at PCGA and sent 5 Morgan Dollars to be graded yesterday. I just want to experience a little bit of the Chaos.

    So a little clarification on CAC, you are not totally off. Green Bean means it grades in the top 15% (or some perc, 15 or 20) of that grade. So if you get no bean, it doesnt mean your coin is not that grade, it just means CAC thinks it is not in the top 15%. Gold Bean you are right, means one grade up. To my knowledge there is only green or gold beans, there is not a bean for over graded.

      You are correct, the only two colors are gold and green. Also, from what I’ve read regarding gold stickers is they indicate that the coin would receive a green sticker even if it were in a holder with a one point higher grade.

    Well where I would start is reading the VAM History both 1976 and 1998. Then I would study the Rules for each company. My actual choice was ANACS but because of Rocky's Rambling's picking on me I went with PCGS.

  • @Steve_aka_Fish
    @Steve_aka_Fish Před 4 měsíci +1

    My experience on Soapboxes, they get very little respect with dealers, however peer to peer they command a premium, conversely, modern PCGS gets the most respect by a dealer but peer to peer gets much less respect as far as additional premium. For me, modern PCGS is what I would want all my best coins slabbed as. I like rattlers and soapbox. Very cool holders. The vintage feel is cool. ... i dont mind the modern anacs design. I agree they could have done better with different colors.

    • @pajamastacking
      @pajamastacking  Před 4 měsíci

      Ya really if ANACS just changed the color it would be 1000% better, I really like the cacg slab design it kind of reminds me of the OGH pcgs holders in a way. I think you're spot on with dealers preferring modern over old, Ive only had 2 experiences so far buying the soapboxes but both times seemed like I was a relief I was buying them to get rid of them. Thank you as always!

    I have a question. If I have a VG Cleaned Morgan and it is Beautiful or say it has a Cool Error, is it worth the $25 for putting it in a Slab , just to preserve the coin and protect it from really bad cleaners. Note I am just going to dump the coin off on my grandkids, price being ? one large smile. 🙃

      eh too each their own, I can see that making sense having it easier for the people you pass it on to for identifying what it is and its worth. Personally I would put in a 2x2 flip

    Hello my color blind coin friend 🤗 new ANACS are yellow 🟡. I might actually like them a little if it was orange. I'm definitely with you on soapbox holders, they're my absolute favorite.
    Only two CAC stickers I'm aware of, Green for being in the upper percentile of the certain grade, and Gold for those they feel are undergraded..or above the percentages.
    If CAC would accept ANACS for grading (they currently do not) , it would lend acceptance to ANACS and become more desirable/accepted in the collecting community.
    Personally I haven't seen a huge amount of ANACS being purposely overgraded as you have. Where I am (Dallas Tx).and probably elsewhere I'd imagine, ANACS (new, not soapbox) are considered a grade under whatever the label is. I don't agree with this more often than not but that's the way it is.
    I've seen a couple recent Morgan's, in the new CACG holders that sure seemed to be way off grade wise.. several others agreed as well. They all make mistakes. Myself, I'm not going to pay anymore of a premium for a CAC than I already do with PCGS or NGC . I don't think its worth more just because CAC stickered or slabbed the coin. But there are plenty who do and will pay a premium.
    Have a great weekend!!
    Russ

  • @cumminsdodge045

    I would disagree with the flip of anacs grades. I send plenty of coins to pcgs and anacs. Anacs coins are always under graded from what I think they will grade. So in use anacs to get an initial grade then crack out and send to pcgs. Anacs is always spot on or under plus they attribute all VAMS not just select ones. Also across all graders I feel that the grades are looser than they used to be and big coin dealers get special treatment from pcgs.
