If we pump the water from the Mediteranian into the Qattara depression you could bring rain from it to the Sinai Pinensula, it would sure be enough to create clouds along with that 14 milimeters you mentioned, specially given that Qattara depression filled up has the size of roughly Slovenia.
So its a Win Win. 2 Deserty areas restored... Sinai as you mentioned can create a chain reaction in wind patterns, because truly mediterenian parcipatation going into another sea and than into the Indian Ocean... is a bit of a waste... So if we curve it we could help other areas......
Qattara depression is #1 Megaproject I wanna see being done. (More on it below)
    a) Its close to the sea... Dig many tunnels (the more the better) but atleast 4 tunnels which should intersect at points in 2 inflows (controlling the level of lake). Eventually an outflow would be useful for easier control of salt, financed by the project efficiency itself.
Mangroves can also be planted near the coast of the lake so that they can consume some salt.
    b) They could collect minerals from water via SeaMining, Iron, magnesium, lithium, calcium Imagine "seaweed" placed.... They would catch minerals very efficiently (better than in the sea), specially at the tunnel ends.
Filtering so that we can reach Fresh water ASAP a
    - At entrance from mediterranean put certain plants, sea weed, shells to catch Organic stuff from entering the tunnel, it could prevent some issues.
    - particle filtration - giant sand bad or geographical features nearby
    - Reverse Osmosis (RO) - Removes dissolved salts, contaminants, and impurities from water
    c) Large scale electro dialysis method of desalinisation (Right after RO) for fresh water as well as generating concentrated salts (magnesium & lithium salts) and minerals which could be used in chemical industry or for agriculture
or Electrodeionization as an alternative more extreme method of desalination of water,
ofc some of the freshwater could be used for well drinking
    d) We would also have Tide hydro stations using military explosives (no nukes) or digging
    e) Hydroelectric power would bring electricity to the area and would mitigate some cost, would require a clever design so that it falls from "high" enough but duable.
    f) Exccess salt can be desalinated, sold, used on farms (unless to high salt lvl), it kinda depends how hard we filter all the salt.
    g) Wind patterns go east or south changes depending on the seasons... (Both useful) so mostly those ares would get rain. Aka more green in thos directions
This would directly help Sinai Pinensula,
    h) More liveable space, Egypt lacks that.
    i) We could also use Steam for electric power... The tunnels may need ventilation (not sure)... may as well have an air cross through turbine...
    j) Connecting Alexandria port to the lake would be huge, Inland lake close to Kairo and Giza could kickstart the shipping industry
    k) we could also potentially do some fishing... Yes maybe some fish wouldn't reach the lake as we would catch them earlier... Just more fishing spots
    l) We could connect it to to A Nile Delta Canal. Which would be a pseudo extension of the Suez canal... Reaching certain destinations would be easier so better tourism.
    m) Connect the lake to some Oasis
The funniest thing is both Sinai and Qattara Depression belong to Egypt... I do think Egypt ll do this eventually, they are currently creating a new delta stream from Nile which brings Egypt closer to the Qattara depression, So hopefully the next project is gonna be flooding the Qattara depression because currently the Egypt infrastructure, cities, roads are kinda far away from the Qattara depression and that was part of the reason that project wasn't chosen compared to spreading the Nile delta and trying to fill up those lakes in the south Egypt.

Excellent work. By the way, I heard Saudi arabia offered to plant 10 billion trees in Iraq recently to improve rainfall in Saudi arabia. Maybe they can help fund your project too.

Funny thing is Saudi Arabia and Egypt are competitors... yet if Saudi Arabia helps some Egypt megaprojects.. I am sure that ll help them tremendously.

Could monitoring sea level rise help identify watersheds thar could benefit from this land use practice?

You should answer the question of the supposed threat on desert adapted species which is a reason for people to oppose to regreening the desert, for exemple in Israel ecological associations claimed it. I personally believe that by savanification with evolution based on succesion with different stages and mosaic of areas with pockets of desert it should be mitigated. Also lot of people say that if we regreen sahara it will cause desertification in Amazon forest cause they say condensation there is favored by sand of the sahara desert. I think it's not based because amazon product his own rain and condensation particles. For it the south of the forest is even in southern hemisphere desert areas. Also I think that atlantic amazon east forest is threatened by exploitation and aridification.
What do you, Ties or people think about all of that?
*also a tip for regreening, I thought that to bring milch and organic matter, maybe water harvesting and plant seeds on top of mountains, chop and drop, and make even miyawaki forests style there should operate the regreening process as organic matter, nutrients and seeds will gain the slopes and it meant less work and bigger scale achieved faster, maybe helicopters should be used at inaccessible mountains tops by launching mulch and seeds. Tell me what you think about it.
