Gyuri is really right about the wrong timing. Nowadays we appreciate her sarcastic sense of humor and "overconfidence" but back then in 2008ish , all the girlgroup members had to act modestly and stuff. However I really loved that she never let that get to her but continued to be this confident, witty goddess whether it's just a persona for the camera or not. She was such a cool role model and I hope she knows what a positive impact she had on young girls like me (back then, now I'm a fossil, never leaving my house)
Her type of humor gave way to overconfident + witty idols like Mijoo, Yeri, Hwasa, Jin, Jackson, and many more...it's funny how people seek that type of humor now but would crucify idols who would dare do so before.

She's always been my most fav since those days, it's not wrong to be modest but I love her style most. Some people, not everyone of course, said they weren't the cutest and so on, trying to be modest and let others complimented them instead, while in the back they already thought they were the best and even looked down on someone who confident in her own beauty like Gyuri. (You could read between the line with their tone and expression) These only make me love Gyuri more, she has great sense of humour, and while she always admire herself , she never looks down on anyone.
If I am not remembering it wrong, she also started this Goddess persona in order to take some heat off Seungyeon.
When Kara debuted, Seungyeon was the one being sent to represent Kara on variety shows and she received a lot of criticism/negative comments from Knetizens.
Honestly, I never understood why some people disliked Gyuri for introducing herself as the one in charge of beauty. Objectively speaking, Gyuri is very pretty.
And Kpop groups do have a 'Visual' position.
Plus, it was always obvious that she was not being serious when she was doing the Goddess persona. The same way that comedians have a certain persona, she created hers and she was pretty smart about it.

This is what I love about the 2nd generation of idols. Their wit and humour feels effortless. When I was a teenager I really enjoyed watching Korean talk show and entertainment shows because of the 2nd gen idols
never thought that I will see Kara together again or even members like Nicole that sued the company and left Kara so I am very surprised and happy that they are back but more the love and support from everyone 💗

2nd Gen groups as a whole are our treasure: we started out with them and they’re still making an impact to this day! 🤩
Gyuri looks different without the chic makeup, she still drop-dead gorgeous regardless.
It's good to see them back ☺️ second generation groups are always being in special place in my memories. Really miss those days...
3:30 i don't know how anyone could take Gyu-ri seriously when she was doing the goddess personna, she always made people laugh, she had no problem laughing at herself, she was so outlandish compared to everyone else how could anyone actually think she was being serious and think this is her true personality? she also did archery on tv which she is not good at and wore those weird animal costumes on variety shows and in her concerts showing that she doesn't take herself seriously, plus all of the KARA members have spoken in the past about her leadership and everything she has done for them, taking time out of her own personal schedule to help them
does that sound obnoxious, selfish and arrogant? my own personal theory is that she is the oldest member of KARA, they were heavily criticized at the beginning and their first album had terrible sales, plus they were insulted on national tv by some judge, then Sunghee left the group
Ji-young was 14 years old when she joined the group, Ha-Ra was 17 when she joined, Nicole was 17 & Seung-yeon was 20, so three of their members are teenagers, i wouldn't be surprised if Gyu-ri created the goddess persona to attract the criticism and hate towards her to protect the younger members

Nobody talked about Hara this episode , koreans prettend to be polite and Nice but thats far from true. Just ignore and pretend nothing happend about some topics.
Talking about someone's death (especially a dear friend) is not easy, especially in a comedy TV program like this. Tbh I think KB and KARA didn't want to bring up the topic about Hara because it will ruin the atmosphere. Does it mean they forgot about her? NO. If you've read some latest article, there was a surprise gathering after shooting Inkigayo, the members were sobbing and mentioning how they missed her so much.
Then the channel will be accused of using her death to attract viewers
Or they requested it. Why are you expecting them to talk about hara in this episode? What do you expect them to say and do? We know they were devasted when she died. Why are you expecting them to publicize their mourning or their feelings about what happened when it was clearly traumatizing for them as well.
It's not like they didnt mention her this promotion. They talked about hara on one of the mini fanmeet before or after the inkigayo pre-recording with fans on a personal level and that's the best way to bring it up tbh.
KARA members RESPECT the Privacy & Death of Hara.
Usually korean acts avoid to talk about it esp in comedy program, dating also, or any private members, this is comedy program, hara mom also still make a mess even after hara dead, they basically dont want to give her mom some chance to make a mess
