L Bush I think because it's easier for her. Not everyone can grip shorter hair nor should shorter hair be gripped that tight. We wonder why our edges won't grow back or why we have baldness after a while. When I was growing my hair out, I just wore wigs until I got to the length that could be twisted in Marley twists (about an inch or two) and wore those until I could get a braiding pattern for crochet braids (after about 4 months or so).

You don't have to cut super close to your actual hair. Once the fake hair is cut, you can just (gently but firmly) pull the hair out, and it slips right off.
