    I've owned HD's since 1989, but I still have my 1978 KZ650 proudly parked in my garage right next to them.

    Great movie! Back in time, when I got my first four cylinder bike, a 1978 kz650 c2 which had the same color as the '78 Z1R, who knew this bike was so special, I appreciate it so much more after learning about it's history. I never knew this bike was designed so well. I miss it, but them memories remain. Recently I was lucky enough to find an '81 kz650csr for a low cost, that will need TLC, but it will be worth it in the end.

      I remember that bike and color. My dad had the 650 SR that was candy apple red and did not have the Kawasaki ‘stinger’.

      That was a cool model, i got to ride one it was fun. That color was really nice too. I've heard the "SR" stood for stateside replica. Back then I thought it was sport racer, either way a neat bike.

    That was a good video!! They had those little 650's wound up and I always wonder what times were like when my 77 KZ1000 came out. This video is like a cool find in grandpas closet

    Kawasaki Z650b1 will only rise in value. Still relatively inexpensive so if you’re thinking of getting one (has to be in green) be quick.

    Anyone have any info on the specs of the "Rabbit" bike?

    • @raynic1173
      @raynic1173 Před 4 lety

      Well I'll tell you this: it looks like the tail section was off a KR750. Funny thing though, Kawasaki did a similar record/video for the Z1 when it came out in '73 and it's here on youTube somewhere. I thing they said the same thing, minor modifications, but they actually did head, cam, carb and exhaust work and increased the hp by 20+. So minor mods is a real generalised verbage for the press. To get any real allowable mod. info you would have to look at the rule book. I'm sure they took advantage of every -+/,.().

    These bikes shoulda had better exhaust systems, like a KERKER or Bassini, I don't like the sound of these bikes, they sound like a 4 stroke twin, the KZ 650 I know sounds better than that, b'cause I own a '77 KZ 650 that has a KERKER on it!!! Sounds like a Z-1 except that the motor isn't gear driven like a Z-1, that motor has a whistle to it!!!
