As a 31 year old American, I'm only glossing the surface of the culture that gave us modern electronic music. Man, the USA missed out so much by not really sharing the AMIGA scene.
I fuckin LOVE trackers. The way you interact with it is just so different to modern music production and it frees you from the way you usually make music. If you're getting creative blocks a massive change of pace like this is nice
Hey, just wondering about drum samples and how to use them? I’m getting into production and I’m not sure about the legality of using drum breaks even if they are edited and chopped, do you mind explaining your process? (Also if you want to would you explain how you choose synths and stuff?)
i just scan through the internet to find royalty free drum packs that are fair game, it’s the same way with synths. either i do that or my friends source me samples and i just put stuff together until something sounds good

If someone asked me to show them a quintessential representation of the late 90's jungle scene, i would just show them this vid. I love it!
I like how this old school stuff has more space for the rhythm and sounds - it's not overcooked and not too thick.

It’s almost like a game, it has such quirky limitations while still managing to have endless possibilities.
@@neverpass04It's funny bc trackers have been used to make VGM in the late-80s-early-90s
(early 80s too?)
