I can't believe with today's technology they're having to use that dog collar to track an animal down. Why not just give them a cell phone instead. Hell for that matter, they may even be able to text their location and tell them food is on short supply or one of the cubs dropped their phones in the water :-O

You do realise being able to track her whereabouts and the Cubs since Cubs stay with their mothers for up to three years . Is beneficial to their safety . Global warming is effecting them the tracking collar does not impede her in any way

Seems pointless to walk all that distance only to return to point of origin. Strange the mother bear misjudged the thickness of the ice. All caught on telephoto lens and so sharp. Luckily the cubs were OK.
