It's a very personal decision. I need something like this for caring for my dad. I'm a homeowner and dealing with independent living centers who never follow up and HOA's who won't approve a one inch squared piece of plywood. So for me having something portable is very helpful. I think Medicaid helps with paying for portables and if anyone has MS, the society has grants as well.

Whenever a company says affordable, it's probably expensive, and this one is way expensive! I can buy three of the ones I have for the price of their cheap one. Also, their handrails are more expensive than one of my ramps! They may be a good product if you're rich and not on a fixed budget, but not many of us with disabilities are.

    Electric Platform-lifts are $2200 to $3000 a used one $800.

Well given that other options like an electric lift might cost $15000 or $20000 then $2400 is inexpensive by comparison.

They are, but you have to find out how to get them. For example you can order a used lift on EBAY and have them ship it to Australia. Here we have Craigslist and we find used items for sale online locally. I think Australian dollar is worth less than US dollar too so it might be a bit higher.

Hello. I'm trying to help a friend who uses an electric mobility scooter to get around. What he asked me to research is this: 1.) When he approaches a doorway threshold that needs a ramp, he wants to put the ramp in place (by himself) without getting off the scooter. 2.) Once he gets through the doorway, he then wants a way to retrieve the ramp so it is onboard the scooter and ready for the next time he needs it. 3.) Again, without having to get off the scooter. Any ideas or already existing products/solutions for this? Any and all info is appreciated!

Looks like a good product-but it seems to require another person to set up and take down.

They are $829 for an 8 foot section I absolutely do not call that affordable, I have an 8 foot ramp on my house 800 pound limit and only paid $200 for that new.
