Today I paid a visit to the DHL Depot just outside Worksop. This is the second time I have been there, the first time the security guard was brilliant, but this time its a different story.
This time the security guard wasn't so nice and they really didn't like the idea of the Dread Drone flying.

What a very polite driver a credit to his company
Whats tragic is someone caring about DHL so much to get ratty about it. They'd sack any of their staff at a moments notice, I never understand this kind of company loyalty nonsense. She 'nearly' stopped for a thought when you told her she was wrong about the law, but then ego kicked in and she started name calling instead. People are fascinating :) Really nice driver at the 10 min mark tho!

Would you like to be scared??? in the mid 70's I was a soldier based in Cyprus......used to watch them loading containers onto flatbeds in Larnaca.....twist locks ? nope? straps? nope.....chains Nope....they used to run all over Cyprus with just gravity holding the container on the trailer.....scary as hell....on corners I wouldn't go near them. Also watched them loading a CAT D10 onto the back of an ex Phorpres (London) bricks AEC 8 legger......how did the do it? they used a Drott dozer to build a ramp around the back of the 8 legger....then drove the D10 up on the back, if you know how wide a D10 is then you know how much overhang there was on the tracks, at least half the track width....Oh I forgot they did put some sleepers on the back of the 8 legger (there used to be a railway on Cyprus)....they pushed the 8 legger and it's load upon to the road and they then set off for the other side of the island...bet they never got out of third gear. What a testament to how good those old AECs were. ps any misspellings are my apple...it wants to change 8 legger to 8 ledger etc etc.

13:25 Nope, it will not become public property. When the sites are finished, the council will adopt the roads and pavements and will be responsible for maintaining them. Until then, it's the landowner who has to maintain them. But when the council takes over maintenance, they won't own the land, it will still be private property. Whether the council maintains the road doesn't make any difference to the ability for people to wander up and down the road.

Hi, if you have time, can you audit the Derby Royal Hospital,............there security is not only aggressive but willing to use violence, they do not carry any ID and claim photography is illegal in hospitals
it's a nice tidy site PJ. The car park isn't full probably because not everyone can afford a car on their wages so they car share. I don't understand why they wear those hi Viz waistcoats because they are only visible if they are worn correctly. Perhaps someone should point this out to Siobhan 😗
The truck driver did start late by their standards, most get on the road to ensure they add to the rush hour to hold up other road users.
It all depends on timed collections and deliveries. Container ports have time windows for the collection and drop off of containers. Supermarkets and other business's have "Just in time" slots, this saves them money in storage space and goods movement. Lots of supermarket warehouse's use the fridge trailers for cold storage and will pick from them to fill multi item store delivery trucks. Without the need to unload the entire fridge trailer.
