LL Cool J is the greatest of all time!!! The only reason people don’t give him credit because of the love songs he made over the years. Yet there are some albums that he made were very good and it’s timeless music. We all love his earlier work when he was murdering his raps. He was rapping like his life depends upon. I know everybody has a favorite LL album. He is also an actor and a record producer as well. He has a lot of acting roles including Out of Sync, In The House, Deliver Us From Eva, Kingdom Come, etc.
Facts Mana said knock You Out is His BEST body of work imo! Milky cereal, 6 minutes of pleasure, eat em up L are my personal album favorites!
Mama said knock you out was definitely my favorite. Radio, Bigger and Deffer, Walikng With A Panther, Mr Smith, Phenomenon, 14 Shots to the Dome and 10 were definitely my favorite albums to date.
He set the blueprint but with him it was believable. Now you got real ugly rappers making love rap songs 😁

Admittedly, half of LL's run predates my hip hop conscious despite him being my first fave rapper. Mr. Smith was one of the first rap album I bought and it still solid to me today. Other than that, I dont have much to add. Good work!

I think the major reason LL doesn't get any top 10 of all time love is because of all the love songs he's made over the years. How many rappers in people's top 10 of all time made many love songs as LL did. As far as 4321 goes, I think P should've sent Def Jam Mystikal or Mac for that track. Imagine Mystikal or Mac on that beat. They would've ate that song up. By the way, LL tore the house down at a recent 50 years of Hip Hop performance at the BET Hip Hop Awards.
I hear you. Those guys who are doing those lists, they show LOVE to other dudes, but shun LL because he shows LOVE to the ladies? Really? It makes no sense to me. LL knows though. He realizes why they do him like that. I hope he knows there is jealousy in there too. However, LL is determined to do his art the way he wants to do it, lists or no lists. I admire that about him.

Exit 13 is a well put together album, it was HOT! Authentic is different, but a really good album. Any way, He has 10 Platinum albums, some Golds and 3 others that didn't make the cut, so, the numbers speak for themselves. Kudos to you Mr. Smith, aka LL Cool J. 💗

I've been waiting for this list. I don't agree with G.O.A.T being under Todd Smith & 10. I also don't agree that L was out rapped by everyone on 4,2,3,1. I say Mr Smith is above Radio for me. Mama Said Knock You Out is L's best album for me, Bigger and Deffer is maybe number 2 or 3 in my opinion
But all in all LL COOL J is one of the greatest ever and he forever deserves his flowers #UncleL

Whoa!!! Now I gotta protest one point. LL did NOT get outrapped on "4321". The only subpar bars were those delivered by Master P. LL's verse was hard!!!! If someone did outshine Todd, you could argue it was DMX.
I wouldn't even say that DMX out rapped him. It's just that a whole lot of people like the rough, gruff, growl of a voice that DMX has. Me personally, I liked some of his stuff too, but LL has the tone and the word clarity that I prefer.
Through highs and lows LL Cool J is one of the goats at the end of the day

Great episode, my top five LL albums, Mr. Smith, 14 Shots To The Dome, BAD, GOAT and Mama Said Knock You Out. To answer couple questions best LL tv show I have to roll with In The House, also I think LL had the better tracks vs Canibus.

In October 2011 Method Man told Complex "Long story short, we sat there and did the video, and I’m listening to the radio and shit and it’s on there. I hear X’s verse or whatever, but then I hear Canibus. I’m like, ‘Wait. He wasn’t on the record, but he’s killing it too. Damn.’ I was kind of mad because I could have done that on my verse if that was the point. I would have went back in and done my shit over. LL re-laid his verse. That wasn’t the verse he laid on there originally that I remember. Next thing I know, everybody’s on there different.

That was the most disrespectful rap! That rap made me look at Canibus different. His attack on the women was grimy, greasy and just low. If you have an issue with the man, then target his as s, but targeting the women was weak! I realize that dudes loved it, but I do not relate to grimy dudes...yuck. To be honest his discography does seem to get overshadowed a lot nowadays because it’s good for the most part. He definitely deserves credit for his influence and helping to popularize the term GOAT. His love songs do tend to overshadow his lyricism because LL can go hard. I’m not a fan of him but he’s definitely a top 10 rapper in my eyes. To be honest I think GOAT is a top 5 album from him and his last really good one. The albums after GOAT are mediocre and bad.
