    The STX offers a great value and allows for upgrades on a reasonable budget. I also really appreciate Ford offering all engine options across all trim levels. Great camera work and great job on the review Mitchell.

      Not quite true. For example, if you opt for the XL or XLT super cab and the 8' bed you can only get the 2.7l, the 3.5l, and the 5.0l, and you can't opt for the 3.3l v6 on any trim above xlt no matter which configuration it is in.

    Sweet truck thanks for the review
    5.0 is King
    Had the 5.0 in my 89 Mustang GT Fox body, bought it brand new out the door for $14,200, back then the 5.0 had 225 H.P. which at the time made it one of the fastest cars on the road. FORD has always been the best...thanks for all the memories.

    I got the F150 XL with the STX package, the 2.7L ecoboost and definitely enough power. Loving it so far and Ford really did a great job on these new F150's across the board, leather on the steering wheel would have been a nice plus but hey a solid interior

  • @27dmarshall
    @27dmarshall Před 3 lety +4

    I've got a 2018 F-150 SuperCrew STX 5.0L. Absolutely love it!! One very positive thing to know about the STX package is the high payload capacity number with this package. Mine is 2026 lbs!! Many fully optioned 1/2 tons are in the 1,400 lb range...and I've seen lower. I pull a 6500# travel trailer, so that large payload number really adds to the utility of the STX package!
    Also installed high quality leather interior for $2000.
    PS: That soft open tailgate shock can be purchased for less than $70 (Ford OEM part). Installs in minutes.
    I'd definitely consider another STX package if I was in the market for a new truck.

  • @rdsii64
    @rdsii64 Před 2 lety +2

    The STX strikes the best balance between options and price. My 2018 STX has more standard features than my 2006 XLT that I traded out of. The best part is my XLT was a 2WD extended cab and is heavier than my 2018 STX which is a crewcab 4X4.

    STX and XLT is the way to go unless you really don't know what to do with your money. I would have liked the lariat and its leather upholstery, but I held back. It's so easy to get sucked into high-end models with 0% financing over 72 months. I try to stay within 25% of my gross income on a new vehicle because I don't want to work into my 70s.

    I wish ford would build a bare bones truck with zero frills. With the exact same options as a 1990 xlt. That would definitely keep price down and make new trucks affordable to more people. If you can't back a trailer without backup assist, you shouldn't be driving a trailer to begin with.

    Is nice they bumped the stx, but the headlamps are a let down, ford's halogens are like dim candles 🕯. I really like the XLT, but for the $55k I was quoted and no incentives I just can't do. LEDS should be a stand alone package, being able to properly see the road is the best safety feature.

    I won't call the 5.0 coyote a bad engine. The catch is after owning a 2.7L ecoboost powered truck, I will never go back to an naturally aspirated V8. Trucks and turbos go together
    like peanut butter and jelly. My 2018 STX has the 2.7L ecoboost. It scared the snot out of me the first time I floored it. At 75 MPH I average 23 MPG. At 65 MPH I average 25 MPG.
    and at 56 MPH I average 29 MPG. I won't be in the market for another truck for a very long time. ( I bought my 2006 XLT brand new and kept it until I got my 2018) When I am, I will be buying something with turbos.

    I couldn't help but notice you left off your weight? No matter, we know you're a big guy and adding height goes a long way in demonstrating the room and comfort level of any vehicle. Especially the rear compartment.

    I definitely don’t like the new front end on the 2021. It looks too much like the Ranger grille. It looks good on the Ranger but looks wimpy and cheap on the F-150. The best looking front end is the 2015, 16 & 17 models. The 2018, 19 & 20 looked good in the Lariat trim but not the XLT trim. The interior is nice on the 2021. Even with all the grille choices I still don’t see one that would look good.

    Wont be much longer and the STX will get priced right out into outer space like the Regular F 150 Xlt and above. I mean sales on STX are so good cause the pricing on the rest is such BS.

    You should offer a leather steering wheel from TC customs for the STX. That’s my biggest issue otherwise I will get one. Cheap steering wheel covers look bad.

    Bout the only thing I really with this truck had was a leather wrapped steering wheel... I get it, it’s a base model and you’re not gonna have keyless start and the big infotainment but the steering wheel is a big deal for me. Possibly a deal breaker and maybe that’s why they do it...
