Was gently cycling around Burning Man in 2019 at 8am, having just got up, hungover, looking for a coffee, and I heard this floating on the wind and.. you just can't argue with this record.
Followed it to the source (a DJ and about six likeminded people going crazy) and I swear that guy played EVERY great 90's Jungle/d'n'b track over the next two hours. One of my favorite DJ sets of all time and I was stone cold sober at 8am with less than ten people...

Back in the 90s I bought an Ibiza dance double CD, think mixed by Pete Tong. Strangely he kicked off with this very un-Ibizan track, which became pretty much my favourite song of the era. My Uni mates had to listen to it every night before I went out.... still sounds fucking great.

Every time we went to the "Funky Dance Night" in the Jazzhaus in Freiburg, this eventually played... we soon made a habit of going apeshit to it. "Pure bliss" isn't overstating it. That drop sounds kinda tame "nowadays", but I remember waiting for it for a full week

This was a good piece but the one that Mickey Finn was playing before it got released was a different vip version that was 100x better that never saw the light of day similar to what they did with king of the beats & five on it all vips way better, never released!
I don't remember a pre-release VIP of Jungle Brothers, there was an early version for testing which had out of time rapping and I had a version called International which was the bassline before any Jungle Brothers. Do you have it on tape ? King of the Beats, I replaced some of the Pumpkin Samples with 'Sounds of the Micky Pussyclot Finn" MC samples, hat's bound to be online somewhere. The Five On It version was a complete dubplate. The 'this is a warning' special of 5 On It for Micky I'm sure is up online for streaming or on youtube.
DJ Aphrodite Sorry I meant dubs I had a habit of calling them vip instead “very important pieces” yes I have heard all three live and I’m sure I have them all floating around on tape packs I have a lot, it would take some finding but sure there on the recorded Mickey Finn sets somewhere. I’m positive Jungle Brothers had a dub version and so did king of the beats yes you’re right the dub version of this did have the “pussyclot Finn” in it but it was different with the reece bassline and yes I know there was an Aphrodite dub plate version of 5 on it but it wasn’t “The 5 on it” dubplate being played again different reece behind it. I remember to this day buying them local and hard to find records you never pre listened on anything urbantakeover & Amazon you just bought it standard but getting them back and being quite different and a tad bit disappointed, no reason why those dubs couldn’t of seen a release seen as though they were better cuts, it was quite well known at out residency we did used to talk about these and the difference with the other residents. I’m sure Mickey Finn came down to the Kick Event West Midlands as a guest artist back in 95/96 and did a set and played the king of the beats dub. Can you not ask Mickey? I might be wrong of course but when it comes to my hardcore/Jungle/DnB I know my music and I’m not blowing my own trumpet, it’s been my life since the age of 10 I do not know any different.
Edit: as well you might just be interested I do still have an original double tape pack from either total Kaos or Pandemonium 1991/1992 and one of them is by Mickey Finn I know these days the originals are extremely rare and for you of course it’s history gold for us all!
@@reecednbfamilyofficial You do realize I produced all these in my studio, the dubs/VIPs I usually did on my own, so I should know. The king Of the Beats was exactly the same as the original, with some different samples to replace pumpkin rap. The 5 on it, dubplate I made for Micky was totally different, and had 'Temper" vocals at the beginning and 'This is a warning" vocals over a new rolling bassline. The early version I had for 5 On It remix, which was the very first version, was released. There was no special dubplate versions of Jungle Brothers Remix that were different in sounds, and my original dubplate that was a testing of the bassline was only played out in places you'd have never been. I've been through all my DAT's recently which is the only place all these recordings are guaranteed to be.

The Urban Takeover was the most influential stuff for me EVER, but Spice just has to take it). Peace and love from a now old guy.
