I think it was sometime earlier during the Abydos story where Hina said herself that she respected Hoshino as an equal, but at that time we couldn't tell for certain if she also meant by combat ability.

in volume 1, it was implied that Hoshino was one if not the strongest student in Kivotos,

Black suit mentioned it in Volume 1,
Hina mentioned that Hoshino was being monitored as one of possible threat to Gehena when she was just a 1st year.
She also manage to shield and tank Binah's attack in Volume F.
Volume 1 Chapter 3 did explains her combat capabilities, Her aggressive style to deal with multiple armored enemies.
She was basically the John Wick of Kivotos.
