  • 1978: Meet the Fins' Full-Throated Fan
Ike Seamans narrates this profile of Dolfan Denny, aka Dennis Sym, who kept Fins fans frantic for more than thirty years at the Orange Bowl.
Syms was a fan from the first, unsettling neighboring spectators with his glittery gear and incessant shouting. Everyone agreed that a move to the sidelines would be best for Denny, the Dolphins, and everyone else.
So Denny led cheers from the four corners of the stadium, at first as a hobby, then with a nominal salary from the team. Dolfan Denny retired in 2000, driving a "Double D" Dodge Ram pickup truck -- a retirement present from the Dolphins -- into the sunset.

Saw an interview with Chief Zee (long time Washington fan; he was the one who would yell "crank up that Diesel" for John Riggins) who recalled Super Bowl XVII when their teams met and said he and Denny went at each other all day.
