#iFootage #tripods #comparison - VÄda a technologie
A few days ago CZcams recommended me a lot of your older videos, so going back to watching this level of quality shows me how much dedication you have put into it! I think I'd prefer to go with the TC5, because a compact tripod would suit me really well for the travel videos I've been making lately!
IFootage definitely has some amazing products. A friend of mine (who also reviews their products) mentioned the people there are a group of engineers and seeing their product designs, you can definitely tell. That leg locking design is great, and makes sense. Super impressive stuff. Great review, man
Best review I've seen on tripods. THANK YOU for taking BOTH (non-/extended) height measurements, on-screen, in-person!!! (Have not seen anyone else do this, wish more would)
The built in levelling ball head is such a genius addition. And that definitely seems to be the easiest and quickest design I've ever seen for inverting the centre column, which is something I've never done with past tripods, because it's just too much hassle. For my needs, I think I like the TC7 the best, for its pure simplicity. Set-up time with that beast would be a dream!
Oh man! They are all nice, BUT that TC-7 is *Very Nice* !! I love the fast bowl design, makes leveling so easy and getting low to the ground convenient.
Thanks for this opportunity, Gerald.
Thanks, Will. My pleasure.
Both my wife and I each have the iFootage mono pod. Fantastic build quality, and so easy to use.
TC6 - Iâm travelling to Switzerland for work next month, and the collapsed size and lightweight design sells it for me. Will be picking one up! Thanks Gerald
Thanks for the information on all the tripods. Nothing like making it more difficult to choose! I think the TC6 being more the do it all without as much compromise wins the vote for me. As always, appreciate the unique spin on the content you produce!
On Thursday I uploaded a video I unboxed the iFootage TA6 Gazelle Uprise I'm amazed how well the tripod preformes. Awesome vid
excellent in-depth review, it helps us a lot to determine which of the three is the one that each of us needs. Thank you very much from Mexico.
I've had my eyes on the TC7 ever since I saw Thomas Heatons short review, since it seemed like quality, well thought out gear to use! Now your video confirms this and I'll have to get one...or even win one :D Thanks for your videos, always great to watch!
TC5 is definitely my favorite, love the compact size. iFootage really consider a lot of small details in their product design, really appreciate it. My old tripod is in its last days, been considering iFootage tripod/monopod for a while now.
Dope review! Oh man that tc6 with the heavier payload and the just 2 leg lock! đ loving it. You always tempting me!
Busting for a new tripod. The tc5 would check all the boxes for me. Top review fella!
I picked up the iFootage monopod and was blown away by how strong and easy to use the red leg clamps were! I like them so much Iâm planning on picking up one of these tripods.
Reviews often focus on one model and it is clear someone has bought that and therefore, could well be a little biased!
The ultimate review that we the viewers need, is to be able to see a range of models side-by-side, with measurements and the pros and cons described clearly and without bias.
This is that review. All fitted neatly into 10 mins. They will sell more from this demo than any advert they will ever make. Thanks for posting.
Love that you made a video about these tripods because I've been researching them for the past month ever since you released your monopod review about them. The TC7 Fastbowl looks the most useful for my situation because I currently have the Manfrotto befree tripod and I feel so amateur when going to a gig with this lightweight tripod when the other shooters have their big and heavy legs. I was shooting b-cam for an interview video with my friend and I felt like I was making him look bad by having my setup next to his rig. I've also shot some sports videos and have had the tripod move and kicked out of place for being so light. Anyways, thanks for the awesome video and look forward to many more!
Thanks for the encouragement. Means a lot!
@@geraldundone Thanks for the quality content!
All three looked pretty amazing. I'm already planning to buy the iFootage cobra because it looks like the best monopod out there and I love how solid the reviews say it is. I was leaning towards upgrading to the manfroto befree after that for a travel tripod but now I think the TC5 might have it beat. Thanks for the review!!
Great overview! I like the TC6 the best - it seems the most versatile. I film stop-motion animation as well as live action footage and I think that the height of the tripod and its "underslung" mode would be really useful for times when I need to get the camera directly over my work. I love that we're now seeing tripods with both center columns and bowl-style level adjustments - best of both worlds.
Love the design of all of their stuff! I recently bought their monopod and itâs truly fantastic. You get so much value from iFootageâs products. The TC5 looks like my favorite due to its versatility. Thanks for another great comparison video!
Thanks, Joe! Cheers.
Absolutely! You make such awesome, educational videos. Thanks again, Gerald!
I travel solo for video projects fairly regularly and I usually settle for a flimsy, unreliable travel tripod because my main tripod wonât fit in a carry-on bag so that TC5 is looking mighty tempting. Another great video, sir. đđ»
I like the Fastbowl. I shoot a lot of Milky Way astrophotography, both panos and tracked, and love the ease of leveling the Fastbowl provides. Plus, even though Iâm 6â3â I never use the center column on any of my tripods - I have to have that stability. Great video. Thanks!
LMAO. Love that subtle intro, visual comedy at its best
I'm with you, I like the TC6 best as I don't travel much but would enjoy its light weight. I like all the features you mentioned but think their design for leveling the head is spectacular! What a time saver! I never thought about hanging a camera upside down, but that could be very useful. Thanks for your review!
All three of these tripods are lightweight but at the same time they seem very sturdy. I love the quick adjustability and the quick release bowl of the TC7. It would be my tripod of choice. Thanks for another awesome review!!!
Thank you GeraldâŠ. I have been been hunting the internet for a half ball mount tripod since owning the Canon EOS R and getting into more video and the Tc7 looks awesome.. Living just below Algonquin.. wildlife is my thing. For the last year I have enjoyed your channel a ton. Thanks for being you..
Thanks, Jeff! That's very kind of you to say. Means a lot. Cheers!
The thing I love about your review is that you also include the superior metric units, also would love to see some testing with heavy rigs and fluid head just to see how the leveling base holds up, some benro tripods have similar center column mechanism and fail over a year of use
TC7 looks awesome - the fast bowl with quick release button seems super handy for quick changes to get that perfect shot from a unique angle!
Thanks for this video Gerald! You're going to save me a lot of bucks. I feel the TC6 is overall best suited due to the 3 section fold (instead of 4 on the TC5) and the versatility of using the centre column (as compared to the fastbowl) that just makes things fast in adjustments. Thanks for this man!
As always a nicely done and informative video. For my run and gun video needs, the TC5 would fit my needs best. A lot of great features as you highlighted
The TC5 does seem the best option for size, weight capacity and max working height. I really like the addition of being able to take the centre column off which is useful and the hook that seems very sturdy is another added bonus! The soft close and extend of the legs is a great feature. Love the videos, great detail and as always delivery.
Thanks a lot, Ben! Appreciate the kind words and your vote.
Great review. detailed and comprehensive. TC6 is my next purchase. Thank You!
Well done iFootage! (And you to Gerald:)! Beautifully built, I love the levelling system which makes setup so much faster, and the leg adjustments are spectacular, both vertically and horizontally. Personally, if I had to choose one, I would likely choose the TC6 since its cheaper and I'm always trying to stay within an affordable budget. But that TC5 is a great unit to toss in a suitcase. Both are outstanding! Well done iFootage, and it's nice to see some true innovation and a well thought out approach to a tripod. đ
Thanks, Dave! Always appreciate your comments.
As always, great video! Clear, concise, & to the point: love it. I don't do much run & gun so the maximising the range takes priority over portability and ease of use. So I'd find most use in the TC6
Very informative and practical review. Thanks for that. In a time where travelling is easier than ever, but airlines are not making our lives easier when bringing our gear, I see myself trying to reduce the size and weight of my equipment. At the same time, I don't want to risk not bringing that piece of gear that I might need, especially when it comes to tripods. For that reason, the TC5 is my favorite because I can have a sturdy and versatile tripod with minimum weight with me.
The TC5 would be perfect for travel use as a portrait photographer. Just found your channel the other day, great work man, keep it up!
Thanks for your review. I was wondering which model to choose and you've helped me great in my decision.
Gerald snaps his fingers and creates the most thorough reviews/overviews in the camera space. This company doesn't get the recognition it deserves. To me, that center column wing nut contraption is very innovative. These should get just as much press as the new Peak Design tripods. I myself would love the TC5! Been saving for a travel tripod as I just broke my last one cause it was a cheap ebay one :( Thanks for the videos Gerald.. you crazy.
Thanks so much! Really appreciate this comment. And thanks for your vote too!
Once again, very well Undone! I'd have to go with the TC7 for the extra stability. Many thanks, Gerald!!
Awesome comprehensive review. Excellent quality and informative video as always Gerald. Thanks man! đ
Thanks a lot, Daniel! Cheers!
Awesome review, Gerald! My favourite would be the TC6 for the versatility. The TC5 would be nice for travel but I find myself needing that extra height from time to time. Also, would choose the TC6 over the TC7 just for the sandbag hook to keep everything rock steady during timelapses :)
Very useful Gerald. I am liking that TC5 for travelling, I gotta pick one up!
Thanks, Philip! đ
I like the TC6. Portability isn't a priority for me, but I love how low and high it can get for how compact it still is. It is hard to come by sturdy center columns and these look superb!
It's the TC7 for me. I love the simplicity of it and the standard height it can achieve...as well as the lack of weight. Great video by the way. Really helpful.
Thanks, Jeff! Appreciate that.
I'm going to have to say the TC6. What you take along with the extra length is a such a much greater payload. I've noticed that as I've rigged up some of my cameras, after you take into account the cage, monitor, mic and whatever else, it's always best to err on the side of safety. I purchased the iFootage monopod and it is built like a tank! Would love to add this to the arsenal!! Great review as always, thanks!
As usual, another excellent video. Great tripods, with well thought out âextrasâ. My personal preference would be for the TC5, like the size/weight. Would be all I need for my GH5. Or BMPCC.
Would be nice to win one of these, but as I live in France I guess thatâs out.
Looking forward to whatever comes next in your channel.
Awesome products. As a real estate photographer, the TC6 looks about perfect. That leveling feature on the end of an adjustable center column, as you pointed out, would keep me from having to adjust the individual leg height so often, which = time saved. Yes please!
Man, the faces at the end got a giggle. As always, really stellar factual review Gerald! I personally sit on your line, I like the more versatile TC6. The speed of the TC7 might be neat, but I'm far from the level of filmographer to need or use it. The TC5's travel compacted size is great, but I have more than a few things I regular shoot which are taller - so that versatility and height is just the overall winner - have to say I'd want to rock a TC6. Keep up the awesome work!
Thanks so much, Bentley! Glad you enjoyed the video and appreciate the kind words.
Another great job and thorough review. I like the TC7. My camera bodies and lenses tend to be on the heavy side so I like the additional load capacity. I tend not to use the center column which is not an issue for me with the TC7. Thank Julie for her continued assistance in making your channel the platinum standard.
Haha. Nothing gets past you, Phil. I will. Cheers!
For my needs most fits TC6. I am impressed
thank you for great explanation!
Thanks, Victor!
Hi,
I'm a commenter. I like the TC6 better as obviously it is an amazing product and the best value in my opinion. It would replace my current photo tripod that does not have a leveling base and is just too old at this point.
Another great video; thanks Gerald!
Been waiting for your next video for a while! I thought it was gonna be the Rokinon video you tweeted about. Awesome useful info video as always. It's like you know what I need to hear. I think the TC5 would be great for travel convenience. Hope I am lucky enough to get chosen :)
Thanks a lot! I think we'll have to wait a little while on that Rokinon one. Having a hard time sourcing everything I need!
Sad I havenât found your videos earlier, but thanks for making quality reviews that I can trust. Btw TC5 seems amazing since I travel quite a lotđ
Epic roundup, as usual! đđđ. For me the TC5 would be perfect for my run and gun style of shooting. At 21"collapsed, it would strap perfectly on my camera backpack đ
Iâve been interested in the iFootage since Thomas Heaton gave a mini review of it. Thank you for the side by side. It is helpful. I like the TC-5.
Love all of them, lots of thought into everything. I'd like the TC5 in Carbon Fiber because I travel lots. Great vid!
I must say the TC7 is definitely my favorite due to the bowl top and itâs height perfectly suits me
Great informative video as always well done!!
How are you getting on with the TC7? I an thinking of getting one to use with a Manfrotto 500AH fluid head
Another great video!! Realy like the TC6, combine the best of the others.
But my eye now on the cobra 180. Itâs review realy shows how good it is.
Thanks for the amazing videos.
Thanks so much, Daniel!
Compliments for a great, informative video. I appreciate the versatile leg design and features for all three tripods. As my 1st tripod, I would love the TC6 for its extra height and 8 kg. capacity to shoot landscape. Thank you for introduction to ifootage.
I already have a full size Benro tripod so the TC5 is looking pretty tasty to me. I love how you can pull the center column completely out to get low to the ground!
I like the TC7 for fewest adjustments and greatest stability. Nice to flip your sticks and then quickly level the bowel. Love your channel.
Thanks, Peter! Appreciate that.
The TC5 looks perfect. Good size to have on the photo bag when walking around.
And a nice replacement to my old crappy metal tripod.
As always great videos đ
Thank you very much!
TC7 all the way! I love the fast levelling design and can live without the centre column. Thanks for a great review!
Good job on showcasing the products and a great video overall. I would choose the TC5 Tripod because of its portability and because I believe it is one of the best tripods in the market.
The TC5 looks amazing! Iâve been in the market for a good travel tripod thatâs sturdy. I like the swivel design and the locking levers but I specifically love the idea the center column can be removed for those super low shots.đ
Wow, you really know how to be thorough without being boring.
I would go for the TC5 for portability as I think it would b an awesome travel tripod for my upcoming trip to Florida!! It would be a double win since June 15th is also my birthday!!! Thanks for the great video!
I like the TC5 the most cause I love the compact size without falling short on specs. Only used gorillapods till now so this would be a huge upgrade! P.S. Great content keep it up!
Great review and showcase of the tripod family Gerald!
All the tripods look great (and the price is good too compared to other well known brands) but for me I would go with the simplicity and sturdiness of the Gazelle Fastbowl.
Yes its larger, so more difficult to carry, but looks like it would handle a slider really well and I would use it for that purpose mostly.
Love how easy it is to swap the bowl on that one as well.
Thx for the video! :)
Thanks, Piotr! Good point. đ
I would love the tc5. These all look so solid. I almost purchased the monopod but Iâm really digging these tripods
Always enjoy your reviews. The TC 6 is for me
The TC5 seems amazing to me, I travel a lot so and appreciate the portability without missing the main features. The undersling feature seems amazing especially because I could attach it to the cheesplate of the smallrig cage I'm getting because of your recommendation haha
Your in depth reviews and analysis on features are rare on this space, big fan!
Thanks so much! Appreciate the kind words and you sharing your thoughts.
They're all intelligently designed and a step above the competition. Great video, making comparisons clear, clean, and precise. I'd like the TC5 so that I could attach my Ronin S to it, under some circumstances.
Definitely the TC 7. I'm trying to film my own passion project of a wildlife doc and having the ability to deploy a tripod quickly is paramount. That and being very lightweight is very important while hiking out to get shots. I would definitely use the heck out of that!
Love the review bro! You are speaking my language ;) I am personally digging the iFootage Gazelle Uprise TC5 Tripod
Thanks, Michael! Cheers.
Gerald I love your videos man me and my wife watch them all the time. I love the smaller tripod for traveling it would be perfect!
Thanks, Alejandro! That's great to hear. Cheers!
I'd go with the TC6. I actually was eyeing it before this video, so it was great to see your opinion on the three. Thanks for the amazing content!
Thanks, Chase! Appreciate it.
Your videos only get better mate! Keep it up!
In case you choose me, please send over the TC7.
Cheers!
I would go for the TC6 after watching your video. I need the extra height from the center column. Thanks for making a comprehensive comparison of three models!
The shorter length of the TC5 when collapsed makes it my choice of the three. Thanks for your comments about the hook on the center pole. I shoot quite often on the Oregon coast where the wind can really rip and being able to hang my backpack from the hook would really help stabilize shots.
Thanks for the review! I was looking for an affordable and functional tripod after hearing your great review of the C180 from iFootage, I've then chosen the great gear lineup of the company. The Uprise TC6 is the perfect balance for my use case of a tripod, that is hybrid photo/video shooting. Waiting for the BMPCC4K to be Undoned as well! plus some rigging videos here and there. Thanks!!
TC5 is my favourite here. Great for travel and as Iâm currently looking for a travel tripod itâs the most attractive to me currently. Great vid and thanks as always for being factual whilst entertaining đ
Thanks so much for the kind words and for your vote! Cheers.
First, as always awesome video! Easy to understand, quick and useful.
ABOUT the tripod, if I'd have to pick one up, Definitely the TC6 ! I already have a travel tripod and I need something a bit bigger and stronger, and the possibility to put the center column upside down is so cool for product photography and food photography. No need to bring multiple light-stand and pols at the client's place, just this tripod, a nice window with natural light and BIM an over head shot!
Finger crossed !
It's important to remember to thank Mr. Undone for taking time out of his day to show us his three-legged friends. You are a great source of knowledge and tech recommendations.
Likewise, I believe the TC6 would serve me best in most cases.
Haha. Thank you! đđ
I'm a landscape photographer and prefer fast deployment, stability and setup in the field. I would go for the TC7. Thanks and keep the reviews coming :)
Gerald ,thanks for the review.Been looking for a new Tripod.I had never heard of these guys.TC6 is my choice.
I would go with the TC6 for landscape and hiking purposes! Plus I am still waiting for the monopod you convinced me to buy :) Adorama is still on backorder!! Great review! Simple yet satisfying:)
Thanks, Jeremy! Yeah, seems like those monopods are in high demand. Hopefully you get yours soon!
As always, excellent video! After being away from photography and video for 1.5 years (sold all my gear with the intent of buying new within a couple of months... did not work out as planned), I'm finally back in the game, fully loaded up on Undone info! Only thing missing is a tripod. The TC5 would fit me perfectly as I try to keep things lightweight!
Thanks a lot for the kind words. Glad to hear the videos are useful. Cheers!
I was really impressed with the lineup of tripods from iFootage. I personally could use the TC5 for it's all roundedness and would use it for filming music videos and Indie films. That feature where you can flip the center column to underneath really is a game changer.
Woot woot, iFootage tripod review! Yippee. Still wish they had a version with the monopodâs quick release design for a leg. Iâm liking the TC6 Gazelle Uprise for its versatility, wider low leg angle of 80 degrees versus the Fastbowlâs 77 degrees, and the underslung option along with the hook for additional stability.
Iâve been eyeing the tc5 for a while because of traveling/portability! Thanks Gerald for this giveaway!
Im all in for the TC5. It would fit perfect for my travelbag and i love the flexabelity of reversing the center column.
Gerard's reviews are so damn useful, every time.
Iâd love the TC6! I need the extra height the center column gives.
Love your thorough reviews!
Thanks, Chris! Appreciate that.
When I saw your monopod video I tried to order the carbon fiber one ut was sold out everywhere. I ended up ordering it directly from iFootage it came directly from China fairly quickly in about 3 days. I love my C180 monopod Thank you for the great recommendation !! As far as the tripod I would get the TC7 for the simplicity and quick setup.
Tc5 looks perfect to travel with. I like the versatility and the size/weight of this tripod. Would be perfect for my next trip to Iceland
The three tripods look awesome. The weight, sturdiness and collapsable sizes (even for the TC5 and TC7) seem really good... but my favorite is the TC7 as it supports bowl heads.
I like the TC7 as I do all my videos outdoors and the fastbowl would excellent for me. Thanks Gerald!
The TC5 would be perfect for my travels this summer. Itâs my first year traveling for production gigs. So thatâs my choice! Thanks for the thorough review!
love the tc-6 and the fact you go through the underslung mode as not many reviewers of this tripod maker do!, I own a surui and a gitzo, both have this ability, so great to see this still has it, and to be able to take the column off, Pity there isn't another 'nut' to lock the short plate into the spider, then you could use it for MF or LF cameras, as in these, the column can act as a wind catcher too, giving vibrations to the camera, esp. if it is not a heavy rig. ( my gitzo can, as the hook screw attaches to the plate bolt directly, so it locks the head to the spider)- great for windy locations, where stability can be optimised.
