Sea otter feeding time [Marine World Umi no Nakamichi / Fukuoka] 2021

This time, I would like to introduce the sea otter meal. The place is an aquarium called "Marine World Umi no Nakamichi" in Fukuoka.
There are only two Japanese aquariums where you can see sea otters. At the Toba Aquarium in Mie Prefecture, there are 13-year-old and 17-year-old sea otters named Kira and Mei. Both are female. Sea otters have a lifespan of 15 to 20 years, so they are relatively old. And there is a male Lilo in Marine World in Fukuoka City. Lilo is also 14 years old, and humans are in their 60s. Only three sea otters can be seen in Japanese aquariums.

Lilo, who weighs 33 kg, eats 6 to 7 kg of squid, shellfish, and scallops a day. Sea otters living in the cold sea eat a lot and keep their body temperature.
