Chinese automakers race to integrate AI into smart cockpits

Chinese automakers are accelerating efforts to integrate artificial intelligence into their vehicles' cockpits to boost safety and elevate people's driving experiences.
Chinese NEV brand Jiyue Auto, a joint venture between automaker Geely and tech giant Baidu, is one of the early adopters in the race to use AI in passenger vehicles.
Its AI-based voice assistant SIMO can do things like open the doors or trunk, but it can also manage "personal assistant" tasks like drafting a speech then sending it to an app on your phone.
According to a report from global management consulting firm McKinsey & Co, China is set to become the world's largest market for autonomous vehicles, with revenues expected to exceed 500 billion U.S. dollars by 2030.
