Yes they do need other kids around them to learn to talk! It really do make a difference in their ability to learn to talk better being around them other kids.
As a mom struggling with my almost 2 year old having speech delay, thank you for this. I enrolled my kids in preschool to help as well. The dr keeps insisting on speech therapy but how is that going to help a child who’s already anxious around people they don’t know. So happy you seen results!!

I am studying to be a speech pathologist. if preschool does not help I highly recommend a speech pathologist!! my little brother had speech delay when he was younger. he was able to talk just unable to pronounce certain letters with words.. 2-3 months with a SP and he was good😊
I have only child but my baby has so much family she’s been talking since one it’s crazy and when baby girl starts getting sassy and talking your head off it’s honestly so cute and annoying I love it lol 😂❤

Being in pre-k has done wonders for my boy. But I still wonder why SO MANY children are dealing with speech delay these days? 🤔. I have my theories but I’m not going to go there! Absolutely! My twins were speech delayed and preschool was the best thing I could do because I couldn’t afford private speech and the school they went too, speech was provided for free ! Keep it up momma ! Doing great !

I say a prayer before I wake my son up he be stressing me in the morning 😂😂 he is 3 as well and was preemie w/ a speech delay he’s been in a good daycare they have a curriculum and actually do work and writing and send home homework etc and my son has recently started giving me three word sentences and repeating more and more ! Still working on the writing though !
This is the sign I needed to enroll my baby boy in preschool. He is almost 3 and still not speaking. I never had my other 2 sons now 16 and 8 in preschool but they were very early speakers. Think I need to let him spread his wings already 😢😊

It’s called Nursery School, preschool is a grade level for 3 year olds(often call 3-K in NYC). You graduate preschool at 4 years old then start a HeadStart program like a Pre-K before starting Kindergarten at 5 years old. It’s best to find a nursery school that has all three grade levels so you don’t have to switch schools each year. These nursery schools really builds a child vocabulary so much! I see the results from all my little cousins I babysit; they before chatter boxes as soon as they start school😂 Yes daycare centers are just babysitters for parents they learn almost nothing their only socialization. Which I believe isn’t all that good if the kids at the center are ill-mannered. Your child could pick up bad behaviors that you would never allow at home…So being choosy about what nursery school you put your toddler in is crucial❤
My son is 8 and he still acting up. 😂. Sorry I couldn't have given you more hope. BTW great job . Speech therapy didn't work, he grew out of the speech delays & he went to preschool so it did help
