the fact that they put sign language into their choreography is very touching, they put a meaningful message in this song one of which is to stop racism and in the last scene they dance with the staff who have worked hard with them, it is an act of great appreciation. thx for reacting permission to dance💜

when Jimin popped up and started singing I bawled😭That mans voice is everything! Also the ad libs he was doing, God his voice is a treasure. It touched my heart. His voice is just so beautiful and comforting🥺 Loved everything about this song it was such a fun feel song.

Fun fact: Did you know that releasing the purple balloons up in the air in the MV means the end of covid-19?
On their teaser for "Permission to Dance", Suga was holding onto a magazine. If you looked closely, there are phrases and titles that says "Our life goes on", "2022 The Beginning of a New Era Goodbye Covid-19" "We all worked together to overcome it. Nothing could stop us." and "Purple balloons signals the end of covid-19"
It will only stop if people get the vaccine and/or listen to government announcements. If it doesn’t break……no tours!!!!!! ☹️☹️

I'm loving the cowboy/country style they have going on and I'm also giving props to the stylist noonas for styling them this way and also props o to the people in the MV as you could see they were clearly havin fun.
I'm loving the beat and the line " I don't need permission to dance" will be stuck in my head for ever and always now, also it's such and iconic line and is up there with " Get it, Let it roll".
I'm also loving the beat of the music as it'd so happy and upbeat and really summery, it also makes me wanna smile just seeing them have fun.
The choreo is so groovy and makes me wanna dance and I just wanna groove with it also as there isn't really that much choreo it's really easy to dance too.
I love their MV as it shows the boys having fun with eachother and other people also the vocals are as amazing as ever, I especially love yoongis vocals as he really can sing, and it makes me wanna sing along.
It all being English aswell also makes it their 3rd all English song and this one is just as catch as Dynamite and Butter.
Also I love the message behind the song ad it basically says no matter what or where you are if you here music you love just dance along to it as you don't need permission to dance and have fun.
Us armys are getting so spoilt on our birthday and o just love the guys so much and you can clearly see how much they love us back k by just seeing how hard they work and how they care about us.
You'll never get another band like BTS who love their fans so much and who works so hard for them.

Yes, the Butter CDs were released today with this as the b-side, along with instrumental versions, photocards, etc, so it does tie into Butter. This is a collab with Ed Sheeran. Note the use of sign language in the choreo and from the teaser vid the purple balloons represent the end of the pandemic, but looking forward...not in the present. It's just full of hope and inclusiveness.

The vocals are great live on Jimmy Fallon. You have to watch the whole butter MV and the Preview of Permission to dance to understand this video. The waitress walking with pancakes with butter looking to the sky indicates a continuation from butter. The purple balloons represent end of covid for this video. (Balloons being sent free and balloons in washing machines.) The hand signs is the American Hand Sign for the deaf for "dancing", and the V signs for "peace." All the people in the video dancing are the "essential workers" (teachers, mailman, hospital workers office workers) plus elderly and children. The phrase, we don't need permission to dance means we are finally moving to a new era of freedom and normalcy. This song was a song of "Hope". BTS said this song was to ARMY's (Happy 8th Birthday!).
There is a live version already dropped the same evening KST.
13/14 July they will be live on Jimmi Fallon show with PTD and Butter performance.

the people in the last part of the MV were not extra's that was actually the staff dancing with them, from directors to make-up artist en hairstylists

Chaps. There called chaps!!! Many people stop the MV in the first 2 minutes and say the same thing. I love this song!!! Yes, you caught the butter connection. Most haven't. Did you notice the ASL, American Sign Language, throughout the song??? The ending...dancing with their staff and production crew... not extras. The back-up dancers/extras were wearing white. Da na na na na na na. Purple balloons 🟣🟣🟣🟣🟣 If I was a member of the Grammy committee I would nominate this song for "Song if the Year"!!! To me it's the all inclusive Anthem of the summer. It's for the whole world who has survived the pandemic!!! But this song was written before Covid started slowing down. They were prophetic. They were rehearsing the choreography back in February..the same time they were learning Butter per RM in an interview. RM said this song is better than Butter. I think it's better because it appeals to everyone...no matter age, gender, sex, disability, race, height, weight, religion, beliefs, dance ability, and your geographic location!!! It's so fun with such a great message!

If I remember not wrong, thumbs up stand for "fun/happy", V sign stands for "peace," and finally the 2 fingers on one hand moving on the other hand's palm stands for "dance." Just an info, those people at the end of the video are not extras but those are bighit staff who always stays behind cams to help them(make up artist, management team and etc.) As per some info with some army in twitter the guy with white polo(khaki short) is bighit new ceo and the one on his right side(chubby) is bangpdnim the owner of hybe. Another info on this video is, they include diverse people(kids, teenagers(students), workers (waitress, teacher,janitor, office worker) couples. They have different colors and raises as you can see. BTS said (on their unicef speech) no matter who you are, where your from, your skin color and gender identity speak yourself, and on this video it proves no matter who you are, you don't need permission to dance, you dont need permission to be happy.💜☺️

#PermissiontoDance is their hope about dancing without having to ask anyone's permission. Last year and this year they couldn't dance freely. They have to ask permission and do some things so they can dance. So this #PermissiontoDance is a form of their hope that next year they can dance freely and don't need to ask anyone for permission. They can dance in the rain, in the middle of the field, on stage without worrying too much. The purple balloons they send into the sky are a hidden message to the universe.
In this MV there is also a part where five children hug each other and smile. It's like Bangtan showing that they never discriminate against the people around them. They always hold a high tolerance and they always say that anyone deserves to be happy, anyone deserves to be loved regardless of gender, race & ethnicity, age, even creed.
Kim Namjoon also once said, "No matter who you are, where you come from, what color your skin is, what gender you are, talk to yourself. Find your name, find your voice, and please speak for yourself."

They released their Butter CD today which includes Butter & PTD (and their instrumentals) and it was released on the anniversary of the day the fandom got their name "ARMY" (that was chosen by BTS) - July 9th. :)
