THIS MAN NEEDS TO COME BACK!
Where has he been? Is he retired??
His work here is phenomenal.
@@guyhill3528 he works on dissect podcast for Spotify breaking down albums
@@callumacourt2727 Oh damn really, i could see that he gets more payed through that, obvious choice for him i guess!
Bruhh I swear this series is seriously EVERYTHING
These breakdowns remind me why I love hip-hop. Big ups
take what you have and combine it to make it fire
Dj Premier is a genius, he samples birds and planes and make it sound legendary!
N.Y. State of Mind is the greatest hip-hop track ever produced, and rapped. NaS spit that entire track in one take!!
I thought it was just the first verse in one take
That's facts
that piano riff alone is genius
it's crazy to think they were out digging for the vinyl and then making these beats entirely in the hardware. No downloading mp3s and chopping them up on the computer for the pioneers. They stretched the limits of what music hardware could do back in the day.
If you could do '93 til infinity that would be dope.
i second this x1000
getting loc'ed up cuz
Please
There is a spanish channel called "Lobolab TV" and he did that video :D
one love nas please? the whole illmatic album lol
This is a great way for producers to understand hip hop and beat making
As a guy who is barely starting up in production, I've been looking for something like this that can give some insight into what some major guys have done to accomplish the sound they want. Thanks so much!
Glad to help! That's one of the main reasons I do this series in the first place.
Sandurz After watching your other videos, this video is so much better overall. You're a lot more concise and it helps following along with your vids. Just wanted to give some feed back after watching the other ones.
+Sandurz You're one of my major influences in beat making I'm getting a Maschine studio on my birthday
+PrinceVader The Awesome hell yeah! hope if you buy on Amazon it's through one of my links :)))))
Sandurz Thanks man!
That horn sample was amazing 😱😱 this just shows how amazing DJ premier is. Definitely in my top 3 producers of all time
queue jay-z voice - "sandurz, you a genius, my dude, you did it again!"
This is one of the reasons why Premier is the greatest Hip Hop producer ever in my opinion !
Hearing that drum break made me smile cheek to cheek.
That “flight sound” always sounded like a train stopping or taking off at the subway station it really had a Gritty New York sound I love it
I wish you still did these videos man!
how do you know all this stuff, like a voice being pitched down a tenth of a semi note, i could never hear that
+David Hatle just gotta listen super super close and do some trial and error
dont lie, your friends with all these producers, and they told you XD
yeah right. he's friends with premo and premo EXACTLY remembers how much he fucking pitched down that one vocal sample in a track he did like 20-something years ago
@@jukpulfer woosh
r/hentai he was actually funny dont woosh him
You should try "Give Up The Goods" by Mobb Deep, please.
a mobb deep breakdown would be dope
My favorite MD track...that snare man!!!
Been looking forward to this man, excellent episode, keep em coming.
Watching Nas perform this song during the all star game made me think of this video again. Great video... Again
Best episode yet, glad you're back man!
This is a cool series. I liked your Electric Relaxation vid as well. I'd love to see you do one for an MF DOOM track. That'd be really fun to watch.
Got your wish man
This beat right here fire. I always tell people this beat reminds me of the aura of Ny at the time period. I can remember what I was doing, when and how when I first heard it
I knew where the Ra sample came from, but I never noticed that the horn was still there. Awesome work brah. Stay winning.
You absolutely nailed it my brotha! Keep doing your thing.
Had been a while since I listened to nas, gonna go to the classics now
Much respect for you bro, great work!
Instant-sub, great work man! 👏
Nice to have you back!
Stay with the classics man this was great
I knew he did it with a sweep! On a listening with volume higher than I wanted, i heard it and it was so cool
I've learned a lot from your videos
Thank you so much
Thank you Sandurz for keeping it to authentic Hip-hop & not doing trashy trap videos, CZcams already has a million of those. I'm checking out your site now to see if I can pick up Ableton tips for Hip-hop #Peace
Great video man, hope you keep em coming.
favorite youtuber out rn, keep this shit up bro
Luv!! Your Work!! Nice!! Skillz!! I'm always waiting for the next video from you keep up the good work!! Dope✌👊
This series is fantastic. Very informative.
This is fantastic man, sounds exactly like the real thing!
my favorite channel 🔥🔥🔥
Glad to have you back
digging the beard, also
OMFG you have the sharpest ear, sounds like the Premo's composition. Mexico loves Nas music!!!
Still miss you and your wonderful breakdowns my dude.
I don't even make beats but jesus...you make me want to. You're damn good at this.
You’re amazing this is amazing
Best hip hop track ever
amazing work. keep it up
Great breakdown!
DJ PREMIERE IS HANDS DOWN THE BEST PRODUCER
You should do "You Ain't Gotta Lie" By Kendrick Lamar, that would be dope!!!
Premo's the GOAT.
I'm really interested in making beats, your videos are giving me a good view on how all this stuff is made. Thanks man!
Please do a bsd.u beat! i love your videos man! always entertaining and informative, keep up the good work!
Love it. Keep it up
sweet videos, im trying to learn some stuff about making beats and your videos really help me out a lot and also contributing to understanding hiphop.
Great job!!
miss this guy
You are a legend 💯💯💯💯
Dude glad to have you back again! You better start continuing this series every week from now on!
Glad to hear it! Definitely will be. Got some good ones lined up.
@@Sandurz that was a lie lol
@@DonDadda45😂😂😂 when the world needed him the most he vanished
"New York state of mind!!"
-Rakim
This helped alot thanks !
ffs this is some good shit!! Thanks for the insight. Respect!
great vid!!!!
Dude what was that intro? xD
Saints Row 2 loading screens
Def Jam fight for NY loading screens.
True Crime New York City cruising even though the game's framerate struggles a bit.
I terribly miss these videos 😢
Genius breakdown. You have an excellent ear
Since the sample was pitched down half a semi tone, did you have to pitch the bass down half a semi tone as well to get it in tune with the sample since it is no longer in the A = 440 hz scale?
This is my favorite Nas joint.
Great informative video. Subbed to you now, hope you have more of these lined up!
In an interview DJ premier said you can hear Nas on the track say I dont know how to start this because of the rhythm of the sample then procedes to spit the whole first verse on the first take
NY State of Mind part 2, please
Wow. Love these videos. Also, what's that equipment you're using to play back those samples?
Shook Ones pt 2!
Please make a new vid
Hey man great vids you do, thanks for that, I have some suggestions !
Shook Ones part 2 or Surviva of the fittest would be great, and maybe some Madib or J Dilla ?
This was good shit. It'd be dope if you could break down Uptown by Travis Scott. The beat was made by Wonda Gurl and she used the most unique samples. Look up the video describing it, it'd be interesting hearing your breakdown vs. her description of the beat.
All this technology and this kid can’t make a better beat.
This is exactly why I want to play around with music. I just want to mess around with samples and then add some beats on them for fun. Honestly don't know where to get started.
Watched all of your videos just now man. Would like to make a request. Holdin On by Flume
Fresh. Do you have beats planned out or do you take requests because I'd really like to see more kanye. Understanding his production technique is really interesting.
Thank you for this tutorial.
Great work.
The Best
good video my man
ily please come back in 2019
which horn hits did you use from the flight time sample? I cant find out which ones sound right in my remake.
you should do, "Take it in blood" next by Nas
crackthewhipper great song
I like beat breakdown
I would love to hear u recreate D'evils by Jay-Z
FlareTheUncalled777 I re-created it a few years ago,im just missing the samples and scratches in the hook.
it's easy to get the samples. Just hit up whosampled.com and search up that song and all the samples show up.
How about breaking down something newly released like Diamond D's It's Magic ^_^
Btw I just recently subscribed and I love the videos!
Keep them coming!
Respect
We miss you
Hey, you ever thought about doing T.R.O.Y by Pete Rock and CL Smooth?
he wont be able to re make that pete rock was way to good at flipping
Hey Sandurz! I want to suscribe to beat breakdown for the project files. Can i use them in logic pro x or only maschine n fl studio? Thanks cheers
The ghost note
