    Hi James, great video, I have just received this same engine so looking forward to building and running it, it looks very well made, perfect for those without a workshop :) Regards. Ade

      Hi Ade. Thank you very much! It’s a superb little engine!! I’m sure you’ll enjoy building it and getting it to run

    I just got this engine, it runs ok, apart from my cylinder keeps popping off and the whistle leaks alot of steam in the off position, seems tolerances arnt that great

    Great video! I learned a lot from watching you operate the engine. I just built the exact same one, but mine doesn't run well - almost seems like there isn't enough steam pressure from the boiler. Could I possibly pick your brains for advice?

    Question - are the screws/nuts/bolts metric or imperial sizes?

    Hi - I'm trying to assemble my model and it has a lot of friction at the piston. Any suggestions? Did you face this problem?

      Hi! I did have a bit of an issue like this but it wasn’t too bad. The piston should improve as you run it, just make sure it’s kept lubricated. What you could do if it’s really bad is gently rub it with scotchbrite but I wouldn’t do this on an engine like that

      @@teescottageguyproductions this is my first time assembling a model like this - should I expect to have to do any adjustments with the screws in the base to try to get the piston and block parallel to each other? Or do I have a manufacturing defect? There is no way the model will run as it is right now

    I have this same engine. I have been having some trouble getting it running because whenever I open the regulator, the piston comes out from the cylinder. Do you have any suggestions about how to fix it?

    • @teescottageguyproductions
      @teescottageguyproductions  Před 7 měsíci

      What do you mean by it comes out the cylinder? Sound a bit off

    • @jonesthesteam

      The piston jumps out from the cylinder

      @@jonesthesteamreally?? That’s very odd. Obviously an over stroke. The only thing I think it could be is maybe a wrongly machined crank which allows for an over stroke

    many start the machine incorrectly. the pressure must be allowed to rise properly and then the steam tap must be opened. i.e. when the safety valve blows.

    • @teescottageguyproductions
      @teescottageguyproductions  Před 11 měsíci

      Yes indeed. You don’t have to wait for the safety valve blowoff, just wait until you can open the whistle and a constant flow
      Comes out
