My father, who was also a musician and a great admirer of her, loved and practiced her songs so that he could perform them himself during his performances to the great delight of the audience.
I was at Engelbert’s Pretoria show on the Friday evening. He chatted to the audience throughout the show as if we were all old friends. He was on for almost 2 hours nonstop and was amazing! Everyone just kept on singing along with him . I was lucky and honoured that I got to meet him after the show . What a humble and down to earth human being! The Last Waltz will definitely last forever!!!

The hotel greeting was a real sign of respect and love of you! I'm sure you had a overwhelming feeling! I have said before, you have given joy to millions through your music! I'm very sad I can't attend one of these last concert dates. I worked 80 hrs. a week for 45 years in several businesses I owned and loved it! Mother got ill, I gave everything up and moved home without hesitation. I took care of my mother 11 years! It was a wonderful time together. Now at 71, I must continue to work. I had a lovely life all the way thru my 50's, now I have learned to roll with the punches! Lol
I always believed you were a world class entertainer in a league of your own! A kind, humble human being. I wish you health and happiness.....
