Track loaders have always been my favorite machine to watch work. Luckily being in Indiana we have some around here, albeit not as many as we used to but they’re still around.
Thank you for covering the all around King on a work site 😊 the Track Loader. It is my favorite also. In 1979 we used a track Loader on a big sewer mainline job in huge housing development. The easement for the mainline were in rocky brushy hardpan dirt. Unfortunately we did not have a Cat machine, but that 850-B Case Loader was very fast running pea gravel to the 350 Bucyrus Erie excavator The power track system Case built-in to there track machine lineup was very interesting design. We had a 125 International on job also, it was very powerful but it did Not have the speed of the Case. A wheel loader would not have worked for us on that job. My favorite Cat Loader is the 955 & 977 series. 😊❤😊
Take a CTL, take the c off and press enhance and you got a track loader Got the best of both worlds, the crazy traction, stability, and capability of a dozer with the versatility of a loader able to do pretty much anything well from grading to excavation Im surprised more companies dont make them, everyone makes CTL but for track loaders CAT really the only game in town
In the modern world a track loader only excells in building demolition and steel scrap /junkyards because rubber tired loaders are So good Cat would like you to believe they invented the rear engine concept.Sorry that was Frank G Hough in 1962
Traxcavators available from Caterpillar until the all-new 933, 955 and 977 made their appearance in early 1955. The name "Traxcavator" was a registered Caterpillar brand name for many years but has developed into common usage to describe any tracked shovel/loader.
I didn't believe we would ever need a Track Loader, but after We bought a CAT 973 , Its normally the first machine on site

Great interview! We'll share this to our channels tomorrow. ^CG
Many years ago I was operating a D8R. When it needed servicing I was asked if I wanted to try a 973. It was very impressive, and highly underrated.
Most underrated machine ever
Absolute best thing for digging in clay and shale!
953 does not weigh 45,000lbs. It's much closer to 35,000. The 963 is 45,000lbs.

I like the content. Sucks when you pay for CZcams premium yet have to have a slew of built-in ads to watch anyway. 🙄
This. All the way...

PSA, Please don’t ever refer to a track loader as a “big skid steer”ever again sincerely everyone that isn’t a joke. Thank you.
I’ve actually heard it referred that way in another video in another promo type other than this.
Know of any cool track loader channels on CZcams Brian? @equipmentworld always looking for more track loader content.
