    I'm so happy you are documenting this build. I'm about to start a similar build and will document mine as well.

      I have an 89 Dodge Ram 50. How do you know what parts to buy to LS swap? I want to start mine but don’t know where to start

      Look up 4G63 swapped ram 50. If you don't know where to start, that's probably the motor you should research putting into the truck.

    Hey I am in Knoxville looking for someone that can put a ls swap in my 89 d50 any suggestions and what way I should go

      It’s honestly not a great platform for an LS Swap. Engine bay is short, frame rails are narrow and the stock steering gets in the way of the oil pan. Be prepared for a lot of custom fab work or look at a 4g63 or K24 swap.

      Start with an engine, your choice of transmission and a welder. There is no bolt on swap kit for these trucks. If you want something bolt on buy an S10.

      @@racetruckron would it be possible to get s10 mounts and weld them to the truck for a bolt up option? Would that work?

    • @racetruckron
      @racetruckron  Před 2 lety

      @@justinhughes752 I think you missed the point and the fact that I custom fabricated everything on my truck. You are going to have to figure it out and be prepared to do a bunch of welding. There is not a bolt on LS swap kit for the Mighty Max/Ram50 platform. The 4G63T is about as bolt on of a swap that there is, anything beyond that you’re basically on your own.

      @@racetruckron I understand that. And your truck is amazing but I’m just trying to get my head around all of this. I’m not mechanically inclined. I know how to weld no problem. And I have a friend that owns a performance shop. I’m sure we will be able to get this done. Thank you for your help. PS, you should post some more videos of your truck.

      @@justinhughes752 Thanks man, it’s been on a the back burner for a while. I need to rewrite the chassis.
      I’ve always had this ideology that helps simplify overwhelmingly projects, just break it down into its simplest form. It’s nuts and bolts, measuring and welding.

    Nice project. What do u think it weighs with the LS?

    • @racetruckron
      @racetruckron  Před 2 lety

      I really want to scale it but I think it’s under 3000lbs with me in it. Any weight I’ve added with the drivetrain is offset by removing the heavy axle and steel suspension components. These trucks were supposedly 2600 lbs stock.
