Peter's take on DJIs RS3 Mini is what the people needed. 👍🏾
Great review Peter! Just received mine today. Put my a7siii with Sony 16-35pz on it, logged in to the DJI app and installed the new firmware. The balance process was easy and the user interface is a dream to use. This thing is amazing, everything I wanted my old weeble s to be.
How is the battery life, and is it easy to replace the camera battery when needed ?
I was waiting for YOUR review Peter! Can’t wait!
Real life demos - Perfect Peter. Thank you!
Exactly whose review i was waiting for! You are amazing!
This was basically the perfect review! Congrats!
I like all your videos man, thanks for this review 🙌🙌
Awesome video Peter!
Awesome Work !!!
You are awesome Peter, you’re the man, because of this review, I am going to pick one up.
But in the meantime, I’m going to binge watch all your videos again 😂😂😂
Love your content Bro.
I watched the DJI tutorial and another one for the RS3 (which I have now, not the mini). I was impressed that I learned more about the menu and some of your perspectives.
I mounted a Canon R5 with an RF 24-70mm F2.8L IS USM Standard Zoom Lens + the smallrig handle and it is AMAZING! The fact that something this little can do what it does --- def bang for your buck! Thanks for the video brother.
Got mine today and I love it. I have all of DJI's gimbals, but this little guy is perfect for a run and gun daily vlogging or lightweight travel setup. It exists basically to compete with the Crane M3, which I feel DJI produced a better product, as they usually do compared to Zhyiun. I am going to run my A7SIII or my FX3 and my Sony 14mm on it. For my 16-35 GM 2.8 I will probably stick to my RS3 as the 16-35 does push it almost to the limit of the mini IMO.
Help with one please
Hi can you share how it's better than M3? I'm deciding between the two
@@illuminis payload capacity, algorithm, color (that’s subjective), UI, for me it is just an overall better experience.
How is it with fx3 + 16-35 Gm?
@@lotnymarek6783 it works, but it’s almost at capacity, if you want to run that setup I would just get the standard RS3.
the outro is on fire 🔥🔥 love from norway
I find it very ideal for covering busy events since it will be very handy to bring around, plus Ronin quality cannot be questioned.
💯👌
Bro the THUMBNAIL IS EXTREMELY CATCHY that I clicked without even the need for this gimble 🙌😍
😂
Great video! Thanks. Don't even interested in the product itself, but Peter Lindgren's video is great in its shape.
It's a gimbal that can work well for professional use and would also be convenient for personal use. It would be great to have cinematic quality footage of family trips.
Great video Peter. Informative and compelling. New subscriber here. The gimbal is a strong competitor for the Zhiyun crane M3 with similar specs, layout, functions and design. I hope the bluetooth connectivity sends a strong message to Zhiyun to upgrade their firmware and look after their M3 customers else they might turn to DJI!!
I can tell how compact it is from the box. Unboxing my RS2 occupied my entire table. Reading through the features, this will be a superb mini gimbal.
I think the vertical mode natively is game changing. The fact it can handle a Sony a7siii and the GM lens is insane. Def getting one 🔥
did you regret buying it?
Looks pretty good. I wonder how good for regular vlogging - what do you think?
Yes, thank you. Helpful.
Was waiting for your review here. Strange to see you late but i don't care unless we get to see your review 🙂
Thats what she said!!
Would you advice this for the XH2S and run and gun? Or rather the bigger version.
I came here for a review. Ended enjoying the ASMR more than I thought I would
awesome video. you inspired me to pick one up. One question though! What FPS did you record at for the intro of the truck?
One day I will upgrade my Weebill S with a bigger DJI gimbal. Great video! Glad to see DJI competing with the smaller gimbals.
That gimbal is very good, you were running and it was pretty stable. good video.
Aaawww... FRESHNESS! Super cool spy stuff 😎👊🔥🔥🔥🔥 I LOVE IT!
I am so tempted to get this for my Sony A7C with a Tamron 17 to 28. Feels like it would be perfect. Awesome video Peter.
That would be a nice and light system.
same here!
I love the idea of a small compact gimbal to easily bring with me cause I prefer packing as minimal as possible. But then I remember how I shoot and the way I swing around my camera on the gimbal. The second you showed the motors don't hold the weight sideways, it is a no go for me. Keeping the RS Pro on my wish list.
How well does this gimbal work in terms of Bluetooth? For Sony cameras, you've got the imaging edge app. If you're into video shoots, you might have Monitor+ on your phone and now you've got Bluetooth from the gimbal. Do they all somehow work together or will one of these interfere with another?
Was your camera stabilisation on in your running tests? Great video!
like that ending thing, keep it on
I have the ronin S and I really love this new small gimbal, for commercial and wedding, with a a7iii + 28-75mm + videomic pro plus on the top, like a similar setup to the one on your video, you think it is too much weight?
Thanks for the feedback and response 🔥🔥
Looks a great piece of gear 👍🏻
Great review! I've been looking for a gimbal that would be able to support a decent size payload and that lightweight so I could travel easily with it and just my luck DJI drops exactly what I needed! Just ordered mine, it's my first gimbal and can't wait till it gets here 😁 (p.s. just realized you're the guy from the Motion Array ads lol)
Hahaha! I love that i'm recognized from those ads, make me happy to hear that the client enjoyed my work!
My first gimbal was the Zhiyun Weebill-S and that thing was a complete piece of trash and always had some issues going on no matter what. I wish they would have had this gimbal back in the day because it looks like it's pretty damn good by comparison. Anyone coming into the gimbal game should feel extremely lucky to have something like this as an option!
What was wrong with your Webill-S? I have that model and it is flawless.
I currently use the S. Overall is a great gimbal but I do get nervous at some ideas I want to do with it. Biggest issue is the locks shaved off the metal so now the motors are loose.
@@emb3rke what are your settings for the control on the S? I struggle mainly with my panning is not as smooth as I want it
@@ericstahl Sorry, I don't remember exactly but I changed the settings according to a CZcams video.
@@ericstahl
I came up with some really nice custom numbers I’ll share with you, let me see if I can get these to you in the next comment in the next day or two, I’ve got it pretty buttery smooth now
great video. Can we use Canon R8 with this?
I was waiting for your review mate. I was waiting for a budget friendly gimbal.
“I need more cardio” 😂😂😂😂
Love it I watched the adds 4 u
wow love this, XT3 plus a 35mm and this baby should be great
Is there a chance you own a phone (lens) cage which you could attach to the gimbal (+ the phone and maybe some lens and filters)? I'm still looking for a gimbal that can operate a phone with a lens as a camera. On top of that it would be great to know if phone can be connected via bluetooth as camera and if it would trigger in some / any camera application (preferably an iPhone). Thank you in advance, great video as always.
Ordered one right when it came out
Cool!
ya looks great!!!!i might buy it for my M50 with a sigman 16mm
No one except this person showed every flaw znd good abt gimbal. 👏👏👏
Hey Peter, What's the "Anti Theft Sticker" behind Camera LCD Screen- Below the MAIN CAM sticker! that would be helpful. Thanks.
Great video.
Looks good, very stable with the 16-35.
It looks really well built. Would be nice to have a fill light like the Craine M3 though. Does it have an attachment point for 3/4 thread do you know?
How the hell could you run one-handed?? Amazing! Love that you do your own stunts
Hey... I got it too... First gimble of my lift to start with... Good
Peter how did you manage to brake the glass on your Apple Watch Ultra?
You're the only reviewer I've seen point out that issue with pushing it to the edges of range of motion and how it didn't hold up to that. Interesting. Doesn't seem like a major problem though
Thank you. If I need to take some pictures during a video, can they be done without removing the camera from the gimbal ?
looks nice I love tech that is small and lightweight
do you typically use a gimbal to vlog (film yourself while walking)?
would it support a rig with fujixt3, fringer adaptar with the sigma 18-35? i currently use the first ronin S
Had to return ours, Roll motor axis kept on showing "Lock" ... hopefully it's just faulty, love the size of it.
Works perfectly with the new Lumix S5M2 and each of the primes f.ex.
Wow 16-35 will go? Great! Though it’s too heavy. What if we add the NTG mic? 😢
Great video I have baught this gimbal but unfortunately my camera is OMD (Olympus) and Bluetooth will not work with these cameras so I have to use the tether mode with cable. which is annoying but still can control the gimbal from the app .
I'm going to try it. I still have my Ronin-S if I need something more sturdy/higher capacity, but it is HEAVY.
For work, the pro versions are the best choice, as they can handle any combination, even unbalanced setups or extended zoom lenses when necessary.
The rs3 and rs3 mini are best for everyday use and travel.
Another advantage of the Pro versions is that you can attach a microphone to the top of the camera and still make all the moves you want while filming
Do you think either the RS 3 or RS3 Mini can be used with RX10iv? Yknow with its telescopic lens
Vad tycker du om insta 360 1 inch? Har du använt den något sen sista bloggen du visa den?
Like the Zhyun M3 Crane... without the bugginess and better with heavier cameras.
For the running shots, did you use camera stabilization or post stabilization? Great video!
Nope!
Great presentation!! Do you think it will hold an R6 with a 28-70 lens?
read the charts at DJI, answer is yes
I dig the compact design. Definitely a good choice for travel, I’m wondering if it could fit in a backpack folded up?
That's exactly what I want to know as well
@@DreySantesson I’m guessing it would fit with a camera and a lens if configured properly
wake me up when they have a gimbal that you don’t need to balance or self balances. then i’ll be impressed. but i did end up ordering this gimbal tho just now 😂
Does the gimbal remember the balance when you take off the camera and put it on it again (with the same lens, of course), or do you have to balance it every time?
this and the zv-e1 are unstoppable
I am trying find a gimbal to fit my Canon EOS 77D DSLR, do you know which is the best option with full compatibility?
In the past, I did a few real estate property walk-thru videos using a Zhiyun Crane gimbal which was VERY problematic for me to balance and relatively heavy, and just a real pain in the ass to use. I ultimately ditched it and stopped doing those types of videos. However, I'm now considering doing those types of videos again, among other types, and have been looking at this DJI RS3 Mini. I found your review very encouraging as it addressed virtually all of my concerns. Thanks much.
As for your video production (which is very good), I'm curious to know what mic you used in this video both indoors and outdoors. The sound was quite good and I was unable to visually detect the mic, as hard as I tried. Looking forward to your response...
I used the Sony ECM-B1M 👌🏼
Hey Peter. As you use peak design qr plates, have you tried to mount an adaptor on top of the DJI mini plate ? So I won’t have to change plates all the time ?
I can confirm that the plate that comes with this gimbal easily fits onto the Peak Design Carbon tripod and the Gorillapod 5k ball head. Those are the only ones I have tried so far.
@@ChrisMitchells_FlyingCameras it should it is Arca compatible
Crane M3 and a7siii G16-35 PZ is the best combo for me 👍
DJI says that this is compatible with Nikon Z6 and I moved from RONIN SC to avoid so much weight and go lighter but is impossible to balance a Nikon Z with a 35mm lens. any advice you can give me?
definitely the best to go to. Sorry for anyone got RSC2.
Would this work with a7-4 song g master f2.8 70-200mm ii lense, it comes in together around 1.7kg
Pete, thanks for the video. How would you compare this gimbal to the Crane M3?
This is way better in all aspects.
@@PeterLindgren1 sounds like im buying a new gimbal! Thanks for your help. Cheers!
excellent review I'm ordering mine today your video confirms all the info I was looking for. Now I do seriously suggest you to work on your cardio I couldn't believe my eyes when i saw you running out of breath jogging 5 meters. Any way thx!!!!!!
Does the GH5 M2 also works with the RS3 Mini? (on the website is only the GH5 listed...the GH5M2 is missing)
No idea why I can’t orbit or pan in an arc very smoothly with this gimbal. Never had issues with any other gimbal. Can you share your follow speed, pan stiffness strength etc?
Its interesting they made lockable arms just now, zhiyun had those on the weebil S which is like 4 years old now?
They’ve had that for years on the bigger versions, but it’s a nice addition to the smaller one too!
it's not, lockable arms have been within dji standards since the ronin sc mk1
Yeah, but having to use a Zhiyun 😬
I was looking for a good travel cuz I didn’t wanna take my rs2 around and then boom this drops
I thought this could be the perfect replacement for my Zhiyun Crane 2s as I was after something smaller, but seeing it struggle on certain angles with the 16-35mm gm lens has changed my mind! Great review as always Peter.
can you use raven eye for active track with this ?
Hello Peter. Thanks for your videos. As you have experience with most DJI gimbals can you help me choose. I have a Sony A7 iv camera and Sony 24 mm GM lens. I plan to use/purchase my first gimbal. I can purchase a used very good RS2 pro combo from Amazon for the less than a RS3 non-pro non combo and slightly more than the RS3 mini. I don't expect to shoot lots of video but the future is somewhat uncertain. I am leaning toward the RS2 pro combo but what choice would you recommend? Thanks
The RS2 Pro is a great gimbal, I’d go for it!
@@PeterLindgren1 Thanks Peter
Another great video
but wheres your video on the A7R V ?
Looking forward to it
Thanks! Havent gotten my hands on it!
@@PeterLindgren1
I just sold all my 2019 gear to purchase this and the 70-200 GMII and the 35mm 1.4
Just a badass combo for a Hybrid shooter
Like me
cant wait to see your review and thoughts
Best regards, rick
@@rickvestuto too bad that the Lumix S5-IIX is dropping and makes your Sony junk pile level, LOL
@@silbay
LOL thats funny
Oh.........BTW We love your channel..........LMAO
Oh wow..this really now lets me consider buying a gimbal. The price is amazing and I probably would use it with fairly light primes 🤔
My girlfriend is also a videographer and my RS2 is a bit too heavy for her on longer jobs. I wonder if this would be great for her.
Us manly men (lol) often forget that we have some bigger muscles than our female counterparts, so I also believe, that this would could be a first choice for many female content-creators.
Mange mandlige bjørnekram fra Danmark
I think it’s perfect for my FX 30 with my 15mm lens
Now that the battery is non-removable, isnt that an issue for depletion over-time ?
awesome
Would you use it for a Action 3. Or is it to much?
With 16-35pz, it’s THE BEST everyday setup. With wireless zoom at the touch of your finger
Thanks Peter I’m thinking g of getting this as my 1st gimbal and this was the perfect review/explanation of the product
the empty box - exactly my reaction haha
