Thanks for the video, man! Super glad you like the pedal and I'm amazed by the tones you've gotten out of it! One thing I noticed tho: The two gain controls are not stacked by the second footswitch - they act more like 2 channels, so you can switch between two different gain settings/presets giving you the option to have a rhythm and lead sound in one pedal for example :)

I originally designed it as a distortion but tbh: in this video it sounds best into the EVH power amp - Taylor Danley also got great sounds out of it as a preamp! The EQ definitely is flexible enough to use it both ways! So it’s a matter of taste 😊

Its a crazy good pedal and the tone shaping capabilities are amazing. I received a Gehenna a few days ago and have been using it as a preamp and it is amazing. Note: if you use it as a preamp, crank the treble and presence and the pedal comes alive. Its crazy good. Also Daniel from Lichtlaerm is a awesome dude and super helpful. \m/

I bought one of these. I like how clear it is, even with the gain all the way up, it just sounds abit flat. There's no real oomphf to it.

I enjoy your videos. I like that you demonstrate different setups with the amp (Front/FX Return) and you run it through a solid state power amp into cab (although I dont know anyone with a monster Mesa 4x12, why not also run it into a combo amp, or a different cab or 2). You seem to leave out an important set up option (videos I've seen). That is, why not run it direct into audio interface and pair it with some different cabIR's along with some power amp IR's just to compare? These type of pedals are designed to do this, so why not dedicate a couple of minutes to this type of set up and show everything it's capable of ? A suggestion as I feel you are leaving out an important function of each pedal that can also act as a pre-amp. Do this consistently and I would subscribe in a heartbeat as well as make sure notifications are turned on for your channel. Thanks \m/

I honestly think it sounded best through the fx loop. Not bad man. I dig it. It blended with the front of the evh just wasn’t my favorite. Still sound good but sounded a tad wonky at certain eq settings and depending on how much the gain one was stacking onto the gain 2

Sounds amazing! Although I think the cut control is more like a low shelf, where it cuts out low end. Would lead to a more middy clanky sound like you got.
it didn't cut any lows, it just boosted mids
In fact it does both 😁
It’s a low shelf with a slight resonance around the mids - it’s a bit like blending in an Integrated Preamp with the input in effect even though it’s differently done 🙂 which also explains why it works so well without a boost.
Basic idea was to give you a range from more classic metal tones to modern tones while staying tight even fully ccw.
@@danielringl8501 interesting! I noticed the mids being pushed up but it didn't seem like lows were being removed, just becoming slightly less prevalent due to the mids being pushed much further forward
That’s one of the effects when the low cut sits before the first clipping stage - you won’t notice that much difference in the frequency spectrum that you actually hear but it makes everything tighter and changes the saturation 🙂

How different is the 2.0 from the first version?
A lot actually - entirely new circuit, more headroom, more gain, more range on all the knobs - "DOME" has a comparison of both versions on his channel :)

Didn’t like it into the EVH. Base tone sounded too dirty to begin with and then sounded overblown and compressed with the pedal on. Sounded better through the Duncan amp. But ultimately didn’t really wow me. I’ve heard you demo other pedals that were similar or better.
Pretty sure those gains aren't stacking, you're just switching between two different gain types, at least according to the manual.
