Tilapia is high in omega-6 which raises the risk of blood clotting. You can eat it a few times a week but I wouldn't recommended all the time despite the price.

This actually gave me some inspiration! Going to start this week! I'll leave my ingredients and what I'm eating below if anyone wants some ideas(: especially if your vegan/vegetarian
For breakfast I like to leave it light
    Smoothie ingredients
Kale, bananas, strawberry, strawberry banana kern juice.
First I'm making a tomato soup for small meals throughout the day I can also use the soup to jazz up my other meals by mixing it in with them so I'm not eating the same meal all week!
    Tomato Soup
    Garlic
    5 large tomatoes
    Coconut oil
For a lunch dish I wanted something with lots of proteins and something super filling to get me through the day
    Avocado pasta
    2 ripe avocados
    Basil
    Cherry tomatoes
    1 corn
    Garlic
    1 lemon
    Whole wheat pasta
    Coconut oil
For dinner I like it to be my biggest and main meal of the day and I LOVE veggies so it's basically all veggies and I'll probably add some tomato soup on it to ass some extra flavors or you could add some spices!
    Dinner bowl
    15 Brussels sprouts
    Carrots
    Kale
    Zucchini
    Red bell peppers
    Edamame
    Brown rice
Just like the soup I want to have some yummy small meal options
    Salad
Salad dressing healthy (haven't decided on a healthy dressing yet)
Some lettus cucumber nuts & miscellaneous left over veggies from my dinner bowl
    Zucchini chips
    Zucchini
    Coconut oil
    Sea salt

Hey Arika! Your meals looked so good and healthy, just one tip: you could try buying a small lemon and cutting it into little slices and put one on each little salmon filet while it cooks in the oven instead of the powder. It will give you a fresher lighter lemon taste, so delish!

Love the video! Just one thing, I didn't see you wash your cutting board after you cut up the raw salmon. Contamination is big when it come to raw fish or meat. You should always wash before continuing to use the same utensils. You may have done it and just cut the clip out but for viewers who are new to cooking, I think it would be beneficial to mention that key step.

  • @vishyav
    @vishyav Před 9 lety +22

    A couple thoughts.
    1) The meal prep shown above is not food safe. You shouldn't cut your vegetables on the same cutting board as meat you're supposed to wash it in between. You're also supposed to wash your hands after cutting fish that part made me cringe it looked like the camera was handled with hands that were touching raw fish moments before.
    2) Coconut oil is not good for cooking with light extra virgin olive oil or grapeseed oil is MUCH better. Check this study by Cleveland Health Clinic if you don't agree: health.clevelandclinic.org/2013/10/olive-oil-vs-coconut-oil-which-is-heart-healthier/
    3) Everything seems really bland and unevenly cooked. Generally when you steam vegetables you want to do small quantities at a time so that the veggies closest to water don't come out soggy.
    4) Rushing through the food making process and not wanting to taste things in between makes me feel like you don't actually like the food you are cooking which is a huge setback for anyone trying to eat healthy- its hard to stick to this diet if you don't love what you eat. Also is a reason why you would eat sushi and skip weeks of meal prep. I mean you're missing salt and pepper in your food.
    5) If I ate like that I would not be happy.
    6) When you insert a meat thermometer it shouldn't touch the metal pan otherwise you're not measuring the temperature of the meat.
These are my personal opinions I'm not trying to offend anyone.

Quite intresting, but only a pair of tips.
    - You shouldn´t close the containers with hot meals inside. They must be warm.
    - I was about to cry when I saw you using a metalic spoon with that nonstick skillet. Please, don´t do that again :(
    Greetings from Spain.

Victoria Hedden Bananas that aren't fully ripe are just pure starch and are hard for the body to digest. When they're fully ripe (yellow with tons of brown spots) they covert to simple sugar and go in and out of the digestive system easily and quickly.

arika, please be aware of the species of fish that are overfished and which are sustainable choices. atlantic salmon (and many atlantic species) are extremely overfished due to commercial fishing. there are many guides online to help you make healthy sustainable choices for you and the ocean's ecosystem

Christina Morales just rinse with cool water or soak it for 5-10 min in a bowl with 3 cap fulls of vinegar or lemon/lime (Which I prefer). Not too much or it will literally cook the fish.
