I’m so fascinated with iqaluit it started when i saw a job posting as chef that specialize with Thai cuisine and I thought hey, that’s me! I started googling and watching CZcams videos even purchased movies filmed there. If i wasn’t making the money I do now i would definitely move for work there. I WILL go visit Iqaluit once the pandemic is over.
I live in Vancouver, B.C. I’ve only been up to north coast of BC, Alaska panhandle and a little corner of the Yukon. I have a great desire to visit the Northwest Territories and Nunavut. Nunavut, especially, seems so exotic and different from anywhere else in Canada.
Pack your bags, somehow find an overpriced far and few between home, deal with moderate racism against you, keep on edge as robbery’s happen, own a gun, and be prepared to spend your life savings on food (not even a joke, it’s like $8 for a litre carton of orange juice) but if you get a job up there some of these things will be taken care of like hospitality and sometimes meals. Picking up hunting would be advised probably.
