- A restless artist awakens in the night, compelled to resume work on an unfinished portrait.
This is my first year film at CalArts Character Animation...! I can't say im entirely proud of it. I spent a lot of time and energy on it, but I can't help but think.. I can do better ........ What I am proud of, however, are the skills I acquired from the experience! I've found that film production is one of the most valuable learning experiences ive had. I learned a lot, improved my skills, and developed overall as an artist... So I will forever cherish this experience T__T thank you to my lovely friends, faculty, and classmates! im excited to learn more! :D

I knew it was coming but the build up was so good, the absolute dread from just the ticking of the clock and the foreshadowing of the other paintings. So cool! I'm still feeling chills!

this looks absolutely amazing and the story was really compelling!! It’s nice to see an artist you like grow so much, like i think i subbed to you around ccp days? but now you’re creating bigger and greater things and it’s awesome :D
thank you so much! wow this means a lot to me, thank you for sticking around. this film shares many similarities with CCP... it was unintentional, but even 5-6 years later im still drawn to the same themes..!
wow this is literally so cool... without any words this shows so much. the tension and the buildup is so creepy and the last bit is so satisfying. the greyscale of everything suits it so well. i was hooked the whole way through. your animation is also so good and you drew the 3d turning motions so well. personally i think that you could have done better with the walking animations, when sometimes it felt like that character was sliding on the floor, but that is already very hard to do and i think you did a good job of it.

Wow this is such a great shortfilm!! The distress of knowing that something is wrong, the clocks and the realization even before the final image. I almost said OH NO out loud once I realized what was happening.

I saw the message. It reflects the artist making their calarts film.
The late night thoughts about the unfinished project that takes up your life and everything starts to revolve around it as you hear the clock ticking for it's deadline. Then at the end, the fear of the monster of having to present it. Then are the Muses gods or demons? As you paint her struggling at late nights
Atleast! This is what I interpreted with bias about hearing how this is how school films feel like in production.
Gave me chills, I really hope more people get this in their recommended as I did! Beautiful sound work, the imagery left me with a subtle hint of who this muse really was before the reveal and I love that- Would love to see more from you c:
