One of the most underrated and best Indie bands the UK has ever produced, I love so many Bloc Party songs, hope they keep coming back with such amazing songs.
traps is an amazing song, they still have it after this time
Bloc Party were huge in the indie scene at the time! Unfortunately the UK music scene is now obsessed with pushing Stormzy and absolute garbage rap/grime music instead of genuinely creative stuff like this!
This song man. Something about the hopefulness of the lyrics contrasted with nervous behavior and fleeting escapism of drugs is too true. Going out always treads the same territory. Anticipation, hopefulness, brief happiness, coming down, reality. Weekend in the city does these themes justice. I love you bloc party. x
You said everything :0
Silent Alarm is a masterpiece, but the lyrics and the themes aborded in Weekend in the city just hit so much. (SA themes hits too, but AWITC is kinda different)
Wow. Intensely well put
@@elizabetht458 Weird synchronicity. I went out last night and woke up to this comment while hungover.
@@leonardo25gabriel exactly
A weekend in the city was an extrodinary album. One of the best album of the 00s.
And its B side🔥
I was 18... and 'A weekend in the City' helped me make sense of the world. What an album in the age of Modernity.
I’m a 40something woman in 2019 and you have no idea how often this song pops into my head as I try to bluff my way through life.
Im a man in 20s i thought i was only 1, way to rock✌!!
This speaks to me. I wish u the best
You are not alone 😎
I am right there with you.
saw them live like 20 years ago never forgot it, still listen to them almost daily
One of the best songs ever created.
How good is this video. Way ahead of it's time. The band is also. Bloc party are as good as any band in the last 20 years
My man!!! Ryan Cooper!!!!!!
Ah yes, a need for speed prostreet player
I had a lot on my plate and had chemical assistance for business use when this was radio played in daytime - it would fill my head ( the tune) and I’d picture the narrative which was unusually direct ( for want of better ) in describing a common theme to us all I guess , But had never been put so brilliantly to suit 7” single time . Ten yrs later I’m watching this for first time and my druggie interpretation back then was exactly what the band meant after all - These fellas are as clever and original in style as Van Der Graff Generator were back in 1969. Genius stuff - hope they are being appreciated in 2019 and if their creative juices did dry up , the album serves as testament to real accessible but non mainstream music.
The drummer always has the sickest button ups on. So sick. Dope fit, bro
I was in the army when this came out. There was satellite tv in our cafeteria and one night my buddies and I were watching mtv Europe when this premiered and blew our minds. It was hard to go back to reality the next day hahaha
Hope you and all your buddies are still alive and kicking and spinning Bloc Party. I found them the fall after I graduated college in 2005.
The chorus makes this song
Something about the bass just makes it so good, I love this song so much.
Aye, but I don't think itd have the same impact if not for the tremming bass of the bridge leading into it
My favourite song of bloc party :')
Used to dislike it. Now I think it's effing great !!!
I remember hearing this in HMV in about 2007 and being blown away. I was too embarrassed to ask the assistants what it was(dunno why now!?) but I eventually tracked it down pretty damn quick and have loved it since. The video is just a bonus. Love the bad dancing and the setting. Reminds me of 80s parties in bad pubs. (great pubs)
That’s so perfect, given what this song is about! Amazing haha
I love watching the different people dancing in this, It brings a smile to my face remembering when the video first came out on good old RAGE in Australia.
Sidenote, the chick smiling at Mr Longface is cute as anything, seems I never did get over that old crush.
God I haven’t heard this in ages . Love it 😍
This is your reminder to listen to it again 😂💛
I'm with u. Just found it again and the synth has got me again..thank god
1:15 Mesmerizing, the way she glides with grace.
pounding drum loops, swirling synths and gnawing guitars. fantastic.
2:07 years and years later and this part still transfixes me.
I thought I was the only one!!!
@@nordathan Never really noticed it before but her dancing goes really well with the music.
Penny-wise vibes
the lady be like cha cha real smooth
So funny, Just came here to see the identical moment. Has stuck with me for 20 years.
2020!! This beauty/classic
2023 still here 🎉
Everytime I hear this song it has an uplifting vibe one of my favourite songs from Bloc Party
Timeless classic! I still get lost in the visual effects it just fits so well together with the music and the tone of his voice.
Silent Alarm, And A Weekend In The City is one of the best albums Bloc Party Has Ever Made!
This song is holding pretty good and I love it . Always sounds fresh I love bloc party
Should have at least million views. Song is amazing
Lyrics are incredible
I've heard *almost no bad Bloc Party songs, ever*
A weekend in the city is a masterpiece
To this day, one of the best songs ever written.
This song live is amazing
This song 🎵 is timeless!! Love you bloc party!! …
🎧 Tonight make me unstoppable
And I will charm, I will slice
I will dazzle them with my wit
Tonight make me unstoppable
And I will charm, I will slice
I will dazzle, I will outshine them all 🎵 🤟🏾😎❤️
2019 AND STILL MY FAVORITE!
2023 soon and still one of my favorites of this genre
My 1st memory of this will always be discovering it on my friends MySpace page. Love this song so much
This makes me miss my party days! The things is I didn’t know when to stop I needed more and more and more till it wasn’t fun anymore and I had to Stop
Hats off to them the true LEGENG OF 2000s...
That riff from 2:45, europhic!
The Prayer is a battle hymn for us introverts: if you’ve ever trembled as you approach a girl you have a crush on then you’re not alone.
Best des Tages ❤️ Dankeschön 😊
I love this hymn
The pro street version (remixed by "does It offend you?yeah!) is way more energetic, that's why I love that version more
My guy
Always loved this tune, years ago in the wonder years 🙃
As a guy with social anxiety who still tried to go out with his mates, this resonated with me like you wouldn't believe, i often found myself on the couch watching everyone else dancing and having fun.
One of the best songs and videos ever made
Fair call it's RIGHT up there for sure!!!..
i love how bloc partys videos are artistic in a way,
This such
Need For Speed PRO STREET

BLOC PARTY 💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻 Very underrated such great original music
First two Bloc Party albums some baller ass shit.
BIG AWESOME SONG! Brings back memories of dropping acid and having to avoid all social circumstances. It was kind of acceptable to be awkward if you was off your head on something.
awesome song!
2018 this is still a tune 🤟🏻
When I was younger this used to play quite regularly on MTV when they still used to stream alternative music and I remember this video really freaked me out lol the song is fire though
I still love this song
I put 16 years to find this song in my head…. Thanks songcatcher
Dang. Takes me back to NHL 2K8 as a teenager. Sat on my 360 on Friday and Saturday night hockey after school every weekend.
Pretty much the same
every word of this song lays me bare kele. I hear you
I first heard this music video when it came out 9 years ago. i was 17. Didnt realize they were all on acid lol.
9 years??
13 years kid!!!!!
🤯 you just fucked my mind
acid? more likely ket and md
honestly heard them around the same age but when they first came around, they definitely seemed like the types to be heavily into ecstasy and at the time shrooms where still legal too in the UK
This has aged extremely well.
I like this song!
you don't know how good this song is till you actually hear it.
Bloc Party are a great band
underrated banger honestly
mega rolota!!
I remember listening to this before my football games to get me pumped up!!
I like this version of the song better than the original version.
It's a great party song, were you don't have to dance, yet just enjoy the music while talking to the party goers.
Kele is something else but bloc party will never be the same since they split
Oh man high school!!
Refren zespolu solid harmonie a wanna lovu jak nic
This song hits, when you require alcohol or drugs to escape reality and let loose somewhere and feel invincible for a moment. TONIGHT MAKE ME UNSTOPPABLE! I feel that some nights boozed up lol
I will never forget my time in bars just like this great one...😮
When I realized they’re all on acid it made much more sense.
Miss the days when this came out. Then again I miss the 80s when Michael Jackson was on top of the world.
Been a while since I don't listen to this
Still a banger. Still relevant.
Yesss
remember back on uni, every single dancing week i had this before leaving house
That short hair dancing girl ! I fell in love with her.. she 's a fashion
I used to like the remixes. But now im just in love with the original
Matheus Caiaffa so I’m not the only one who is revisiting Bloc Party. Man I miss them so much. And my childhood
Un clásico de bloc party
My god... This was so long ago already. Seems like yesterday.
Cool song
Nhl 2k8 banger
i feel like this every time i go out
Rockin 2020
Kuvshinov Ilya ❤
As an amateur stand up comedian, I play this song on repeat before I go on stage to help qualm my performance anxiety.
One of my favorites on Need for Speed ProStreet
I love🥰
I remember hearing this during a Smallville episode preview when I was seven.
Filmed on a JVC LSD camera.
Amazing how little/few views this awesome song has, I guess not many people played Project Gotham Racing 4 'back in the day'.
It was also in prostreet although the song in prostreet was a remix still a banger
Prostreet is a game I look at with only fond memories
I first heard this song on a commercial for an upcoming episode of smallville season 6 ep 19 but wasnt in the actual episode took me forever to find this.....
Alguien sigue escuchando este temazo en pleno 2020?😆
Regular Gamers: Need For Speed Pro Street
Canadian Gamers: NHL 2K8
this album is awesome, at the level of Silent Alarm, very underrated
NME magazine and constant air play made this my song in 2007
This really gives me Nevada highway vibes
Takes me back to pro street damn it's 2023 where has the time gone
Yeah i love your song. 2:15 to 2:27 yaaaah
Here after Trap. They are back!!!
I'm back. Heard a track from some dude Henny hoopla I think his name was, reminded me of these guys.
