Very interesting tour. Lived near a Amish community. One time when gas prices were high I said to a Amish friend. Gas is high. He looked at me and said "so is oats" 😂 Never got paddled in school but, should have 🤔🙄
That is funny. I guess oats do get expensive. I never got in trouble in school either I always knew if I did I would be in bigger trouble when I got home. Thanks for watching 😎 😎
The quilts on all the beds are beautiful
They are pretty. Thanks for watching 😎😎
I never comment, but you bought back a memory... I'm71. I went to a 3 room school house in the Blue Ridge mountains in SW VA. I wrote a note saying that "Ronnie is a little devil" and drew a picture of one. I passed it to my friend. My teacher caught me. She kept after school and gave me 3 licks with her paddle that had holes in it. When I got home and told my Mama, she had a hissy fit. She didn't even spank me lol. My teacher's name was Mrs.Spangler and she just passed away at 103 yrs old. One of the most loved people in my life!!!
Thanks for watching and sharing your story. 😎😎
There furniture, and everything they make is beautiful. Very interesting. Great video.
They do make beautiful furniture and it is very heavy. Thanks for watching.😎😎
My Aunt has a close line in her back yard. She told us today that she uses it moore than her dryer. I was surprised to hear that. 11 plus 11. 22.🤠😎😇👍👍👍👍👍
Both are mothers would hang our clothes outside on the line when we were growing up. Thanks for watching 😎 😎

What a wonderful tour through the village. I love covered bridges, but I never knew why they were covered. Touring the house brought back so many memories. I have the Singer treadle sewing machine. The coal/wood stove my grandmother had, and the wringer washing machine my Grandmother had. Thank you for the memories ! Blessings.
So glad you enjoyed the video. Thanks for watching 😎 😎
Ending was so cute! I really enjoy your video's, especially in this area that I love so much.
It is a beautiful area. Thanks for watching 😎 😎
Years ago, I went to the Amish country and I remember a few facts, don't know if they still do this or not. When a man married, he grew a beard. When a son got married, they just built a room onto the house. The houses back then did not even have electricity, don't know if any of these facts still exist or not. They used to go to Kentucky to get their horses that used to be race horses. They did not like to have their picture taken either. I loved the Amish country, like taking a step back in time. Thank you for sharing.
It is like stepping back in time. They still do not have electricity in their homes. Thanks for watching 😎 😎
Thoroughly enjoying your Amish country videos. Thank you for sharing with us.

Thanks for watching 😎 😎
Great video guys! Very informative also. No never got the strap as we call it up here..but racked up some detention hours in high school for smoking in the girls room ;(
Thanks for watching and commenting. No smoking in the girls room. Lol😎😎
I live in Amish Country Ohio. Their handmade products are the best!
They are. They make great items and the food is incredible. 😎😎
As always, we enjoyed the video! Thanks for taking us places we can’t travel to at the moment. I’m a recently retired teacher so I know that, at least in Nova Scotia, cursive writing is still taught - but not to the extent that we focused on as students ourselves. Teachers are pretty busy feeding kids and looking after just about every other physical and mental need you can imagine ;) Have a wonderful Easter 🐣
I have a lot of respect for Teachers their jobs are nit easy. Thanks for watching. Happy Easter 😎😎
VAL (SOUTH AFRICA) VERY WELL SAID. TEACHERS ARE BORN, I HAVE NOT GOT THE PATIENCE!!!! MY LATE HUSBAND WAS A HEAD MASTER OF A SCHOOL FOR SPECIAL CHILDREN AND LOTS OF OUR FAMILY MEMBERS ARE STILL TEACHERS, THEY ALL DO WORK EXTREMELY HARD, ALMOST NO TIME FOR THEMSELVES. THANKS FOR THE BIG ROLE YOU ALSO PLAYED IN THE "TEACHING WORLD". (NOT EVERYBODY UNDERSTAND, APPRECIATE AND RESPECT A TEACHER'S ROLE). THIS IS THE REASON WHY I CHOSE TO DO SOCIAL WORK AND ENDED UP IN LAW. - LOL. GOD BLESS AND A HAPPY EASTER. FROM VAL IN SOUTH AFRICA👌😍 PS I HAD THE OPPORTUNITY TO ATTEND SEMINARS ON OTISM WITH HIM WHICH I AM VERY INTERESTED IN AND IT WAS VERY INTERESTING AND INFORMATIVE, STILL DO RESEARCH ON THAT.
@@hugoferreira4770 Thank you Val for the kind words! Most people have challenges in their work, but I agree that the role of a teacher is often misunderstood. If teaching was like it used to be in the “olden days”, I would still be at it ;) Happy Easter to you and your loved ones!

Love this💕 I highly respect the Amish and their lifestyle. I got to visit an Amish community in Northern Indiana several years ago. I would love to visit more Amish places. Thank you for this video. Great content. 💕
They are very hard workers. This is a beautiful area to visit. Thanks for watching 😎 😎
Love the video and I got the board in school.
John said he knew he was not the only one that got the board in school. Lol Thanks for watching 😎 😎
Great video as always 👍 hopefully we will get there one day .
Love the animals
We hope you get to go sometime. It is a beautiful and peaceful area. Thanks for watching 😎 😎
I went to school in South Jersey. Teachers were old school and didn't play. They would snatch you up in a NY minute and then got it when you got home. I never got in trouble because I didn't want that punishment. Teachers were supported in school but now they are barely defended against some of these hellions.
My parents always told me if I got in trouble in school I would get it twice as bad when I got home. I never got in trouble in school but poor John did. Lol Thanks for watching 😎 😎
Enjoyed this a lot! I get to visit an Amish school from time to time in the eastern part of Lancaster County. It's an amazing experience, radically different from non-Amish schools. The children do see learning as fun, though. Most of them LOVE school and spend a lot of time "playing" school at home.
Enjoyed visiting this home seeing their school and how they live. Thanks for watching 😎 😎
Enjoyed that video tour. Too bad people don't teach their children those lessons anymore. I was taught that. I did get paddled in 12th grade at school for fighting in the girls locker room. My parents didn't spare the "rod" ie belt or hand. Telling a lie was our greatest transgression. Learned early to tell the truth and follow rules and laws.
Our parents didn't believe in sparing the rod either. But we turned out pretty good we learned to respect others and and obey our parents. John said he knew he was not the only one that got the board in school .Lol Thanks for sharing your story. 😎😎
@@jbinthehills Us too and taught my son the same. His generation looks at things differently. But we move on. Enjoy your adventures. You both are wonderful to watch. Thanks again.
I got the paddle a few times never wanted the school to call 👩...lol I turned out alright👍
LOL. It was worse when you got home. 😎😎
Really enjoyed your video! We've got some Amish in Johnston County. We'd go there when we had our dairy. Very interesting that their school is different from ours. Yep, I got paddled in school! Beautiful scenery and animals!
It is a beautiful area. John said he knew he was not the only one that got the board. Lol Thanks for watching 😎 😎
@@jbinthehills you're welcome!
I never got the board, but my two brothers did regularly.
It does seem like more boys got the board in school than girls. Thanks for sharing. 😎😎
VAL - HI GUYS, A BLESSED GOOD FRIDAY TO YOU BOTH. THANKS FOR TAKING ME ALONG. I REALLY FOUND THIS SO INTERESTING AND SO INFORMATIVE, THANKS. (SAW THE AMISH FARM VIDEO OF YOURS) AS WELL, SO I'VE ALREADY LEARNT A BIT OF THE AMISH PEOPLE, BUT NOT ENOUGH THOUGH!! THEY ARE VERY INTERESTING PEOPLE AND THEIR BELIEFS. (VERY PRIMITIVE). THE SCHOOL BROUGHT BACK SOME MEMORIES OF MY SCHOOL DAYS AS WELL. IT'S WONDERFUL THAT THEY ALSO CARE FOR THE ANIMALS. I LOVE THE PEACOCKS ALWAYS, LUCKILY I HAVE THE GUINEAFOWL TRAIL BEHIND MY HOME, I ALSO FEED THEM (LOTS OF PEOPLE IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD DOES) AND THEY ALSO MAKE A GOOD LOT OF NOISE, ESPECIALLY IF THEY NOTICE ME LATE IN THE EVENING, GOT TO HIDE FROM THEM - LOL, BUT I ADORE THEM. LOVE ANIMALS SO MUCH. THANK YOU ONCE AGAIN FOR AN EXCELLENT TOUR WITH YOU GUYS I LOVE TO SEE HOW PEOPLE LIVE AND LEARN ABOUT THEM (VERY INQUISITIVE IN THAT WAY) 👀 I THINK AMISH COUNTRY IS A MUST GO TO PLACE. GOD BLESS, LOVE , VAL
We like learning how others life and their beliefs too. The Amish work very hard. Thanks for watching Val😎😎
Nice video
That was interesting 👍
Thanks for watching 😎 😎
@@jbinthehills , Your welcome yall have a blessed Easter 🙏
@@vwbugchic1961 Happy Easter 😎😎
These kids today need to get the board, too much babying today
They do get away with way more than we ever did. Thanks for watching 😎 😎
It's a shame cursive writing isn't taught in some places. I doubt creative writing is either. Nothing like a personal thank you card written in cursive. I'm 70 and still use cursive.
I was really surprised when some of my friends told me their children did not know how to write their names in cursive. Thanks for watching 😎 😎
Spare the rod, spoil the child😉 I remember when teachers were respected. I definitely have great memories of my favourite teachers and appreciate the impact they made on my life😊 I don't think the rules I grew up with would fly with today's Woke generation unfortunately😑
Those are the rules we grew up with. 😎😎
LoL I been there
Thanks for watching 😎 😎
I want to live there but how to be a member of Amish village
Very peaceful area 😎😎
Had a problem spa
Thanks for watching 😎😎
