  • Recently, I stayed at the Emotions by Hodelpa All-Inclusive resort in Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic. Although the resort was operating at limited capacity because of the restrictions due to the pandemic, I was able to see and do pretty much everything it had to offer at the time and given the circumstances.
    I hope of all you enjoy this video and helps you all in selecting a resort that's appealing to you the next time you go to Dominican Republic.

    Last but not least, I have decided to partner with iVisa.com
    iVisa.com is an integrated travel solution company, member of IATA (#23716873), that has provided services for travel documents since 2013 and become a selected Endeavor Company in 2019. They offer assistance with passport photos, passport renewals, visas, embassy registrations, and health check declarations.
    On the other hand, many of us haven't touched our passport in months, and we don't even know if it is still valid! They want travelers to be ready for when traveling re-starts. For this reason, they have created iVisa Passport Renewals: A One-Stop Shop to renew your United States Passport securely and Error-Free.
    With iVisa Passport Renewals, travelers will be able to renew their United States Passport all in one place. All you need to do is fill an online form and leave the rest to iVisa! The unique design of their Passport Renewal Kit allows it to be foolproof, there's no way the traveler will forget anything for the renewal.

      Hey Alex, thanks for watching. I recorded this in February this year. I absolutely recommend this for families. When I was there there were plenty of families. Hopefully they’re 100% operational. I hope you have a great time.

    Hi there!, question for you, I will be staying in the same resort , landing on STI, would you recommend renting a car at STI? or is it best getting a private transportation company to take you to puerto plata? . I am not plannning to do anything else in the island, except for the beach.

      @TheSoloTraveler  Před 9 měsíci

      Thank you for your question. That depends on a number of factors….how comfortable are you driving in DR? Budget? It’s always better and more flexible to have your own ride but if you’re staying in Puerto Plata only, then go for public transportation like Caribe Tours, or a private driver.

      Hi Joe and thanks for watching. Yes, the hotel is very accessible for wheelchairs. All facilities are accessible and the buildings where the rooms are at have elevators. Enjoy.

      No worries Joe and thanks for your question. As far as I observed, there are no steps to follow. Just hop in.

      @@TheSoloTraveler I believe that you misunderstood my question, I am on a wheelchair and need to know if any of the pools have walk in steps to get into that pool

      @@joedacosta7095 sorry, I did. I did not notice steps to get into the pool. However, the biggest pool has these stone beach chairs inside them. Very shallow. But I don’t remember seeing steps.

      Exchange houses in town or use ATM as they offer better conversion rate.

    What were the limitations due the covid?

    • @TheSoloTraveler
      @TheSoloTraveler  Před 3 lety

      Thank you for your question and for watching. Back then most of the restaurants were closed (only 2 open out of many), tours not operating, water park closed, nightclub closed and activities suspended. Basically all you could do was wake up, go eat, go to the pool/beach then go eat again then drink a lot of watered down beers.

    I have travelled to many resorts in the Caribbean over the years and find most places do " water " their alcohol down....this, as I understand is more of a safety measure than one to increase profits. People are stupid on vacation....and consume way to many drinks in a day, can you imagine the amount of accidents, slips and falls, aggressive behaviours that would happen if full strength alcohol was being served? Enjoy the vacay and just remember the drinks are free !

    • @TheSoloTraveler
      @TheSoloTraveler  Před 2 lety +1

      Great point but I have to disagree on safety being the reason for watering down drinks. Why? Because you can bring your own booze. Not only that, resorts also have liquor stores, which could be a big reason for watering down drinks. This is specially true for resorts that are isolated. So, I don’t think it’s about safety.
