Retired firefighter here, if I had to put my dress blues back on for a fire dept function of some kind I wouldn’t shave. Being retired, called a burnout, there are no rules on dress blues in the fire dept I know of for this.
Ken...This is such a great topic to discuss! While I don't have a beard, if I did, I would shave it under several circumstances... receiving a large amount of money for shaving it off, a personal health situation where shaving it would be best, for a charity I highly support, for a dream job that requires no beard, or a military-related situation like the one in the video. I do think, though, if you are a beard consultant/beard influencer who works with companies who develop beard content and do this for a job, you'd probably be less inclined to shave as compared to someone who just has a beard for personal reasons and could shave and easily regrow it when it's convenient for them. This is definitely a topic that gets you thinking! Great job with this video! ❤
If it was a situation where it was that important to a loved one, then yes I would. Some things in life are far more important than having a beard. It will grow back!

My father in law lives in a small town. Drunk at the pub, he was asked this exact question (he had not shaved in over 20 years)
Sarcastically he said "10 grand".
Within 2 months the town raised 12K, which he donated to Breast cancer research, as his mother (my missus' grand mother) passed away 6 months before he made this drunken deal.
To raise a heap of money for charity, i would 100% do the same if in the same position.

I wasn’t in the military so it’s a question I can’t answer. I don’t have a daughter so I can’t answer it as well.
I have been asked what it would take to shave and all I say is it has to be a lot of money.
It's only hair and it grows back. I have, and always would, shave my beard off for the right reason.

I wasn't in the service but I can appreciate that situation. As far as my situation goes-only if it's a health concern, alot of money, or if it became a hazard for work

Great video, as always, Ken. Yes, I would shave my beard off for the right reasons. As you know, my family is everything to me, so if they asked for a good reason to shave, I would definitely cause it will grow back. If it was for a job that I needed to provide for my family like in a plant, I would. Medical reason for sure would. And money, I guess, cause who couldn't use a little extra cash 😂
I've been thinking about doing some cosplay this year at my local comic con. The character I would be doesn't have a beard, so I would shave 2 look the part. My beard grows ridiculously quick, so it will be back in less than a month.

I would never shave my beard for no one. The only way i would is for my own choice. My wife have ask me to trim and i keep saying no. My reason is because is basiclty the only thing that i own and no one can take from me.

I doubt my daughter would ask me to either. But that's one of very few reasons I would for sure!
