We stay in Corfe Castle, a picturesque village in Dorset, dating back to the 11th century! We discover Corfe Castle from both East and West Hill, we walk through the village’s streets and finally visit Corfe Castle’s village station, hoping to see a steam train. Join us as we go back in time!

Fantastic photo shot at 1:44 using the archway as a frame. Wow you caught the steam train at the perfect moment at 2:55. Nice the well was restored. This village has a lot of character.

im 9 and just got back from swanage i loved corfe castlr but i recommend going up to the castle it was AMAZING and steam trains are so cute and fun

Obscure fact: Corfe Castle was the inspiration for Kirrin island in Enid Blyton’s Famous Five books. The author had many holidays in Dorset (up to three a year) and owned Manor Farm at Stourton Caundle near Sturminster Newton, which she would visit when in the area. This farm was the inspiration for the Famous Five book ‘Five on Finniston Farm’.

The place your staying looks amazing! so cute and quaint in the village :) I love the castle ruins :) Enjoyed walking with you both such a lovely view from the top! aww the steam train :) we went thee with lilly but it was pouring down when we went... will have to go again in summer :)

Yes, for us Dorset was about a 3 hour drive, we crammed in so much that weekend...
Love these cute little ancient towns and villages! So much history! And then you add the steam train (going from several hundred years to more "recent" history. You are right, those views from the hills are stunning. How long did it take to climb? Are those sheep some type of historic variety raised there?
