For gold guys, gold stocks are always about to take off, always. Though they never do.
Gold miners are companies. So, if the stock market sells off, they will sell off. Also, they are businesses that are subjected to regular business risks, such as a mine collapse or flood, labor strikes, government regulations / taxes, operating cost inflation and poor management. Lots of risks associated with investing in mining companies.
This is true, i've been listening this for about 8 years. I think they did once or twice in the past, now it's all anticipated and retail is always too late to the game. The gains are not their anymore, same with silver.
You might want to go back and research the depression(which another 1 is comming)and see the returns from mining stocks back in those days.
When it comes to drilling, we haven’t even scratched the surface of what this planet has as far as minerals and metals. With technology advancing at a rapid pace I don’t see us having any kind of metal shortage or mineral..

Someone needs to show him the Barrick and Newmont chart from 2002-2011. While gold was up 7x these companies barely appreciated 3x. What a great leverage! This whole industry is a net capital destroyer even in bull markets. And then he is wondering why people are still not buying these stocks even when gold goes up.

Getting away from Gold - With the sanctions on Russia and the interruption of supply from Ukraine the world has lost access to the largest supply on several on the minerals required for the green revolution - Look for miners with large reserves of Copper, Nickle and Zinc as we need to double the amount available while losing the largest suppliers
