- In this weeks episode we meet Jason and Summer who live in an absolutely stunning, modern, off-the-grid tiny house on wheels. This home is packed full of clever design features, wonderful art, and an impressive solar system which keeps their home powered.
The couple have recently returned to New Zealand after living in London. Seeking to create a beautiful space of their own, while reducing their environmental impact and maximising their lifestyle, they decided an off-grid tiny home was their ideal solution.
This tiny house has been incredibly well thought out and designed to perfectly meet the couples needs. Both Jason and Summer often work from home and this tiny house boasts an impressive office, in addition to all the other tiny house essentials!
If you're inspired to get off-the-grid, lower your living cost and live a life which allows you to focus on your passions, this is a story you won't want to miss!
Enjoy the full video tour of this spectacular modern tiny house!

We hope you enjoy the video tour of this epic off-grid tiny house! Jason and Summer have created a truly beautiful home for themselves here. There's lots to love in this incredibly well designed space! With love, Bryce & Rasa
First one
2nd one 😎
Thanks for all the great video content as always!!
Awesome house
Hi Bryce & Rasa.
I've been watching you guys pretty much from day dot. Not every episode, but enough to love the channel.
My partner and I built a tiny home out of a 6 tonne pantech truck.
Just out of curiosity, my only gripe and it's not even really a gripe. But.... is there anyway you guys could feature more of the Tech (battery chemistry and capacity, solar panel array total watts, etc.)
I'm not suggesting it to necessarily be in the video itself. But rather if the owners were happy to share the info, maybe in the video description.
We've lived completely off grid in the Queensland bush of Australia for 6 months and I think as much as the aesthetics of everyone's tiny home is awesome. The technical side is equally if not more so (for full time occupation).
I think those interested in the movement, might enjoy that extra piece of the puzzle.
Other than that, love the channel.
Many thanks.
This guy could voice the funny deep voiced side kick in any disney movie
And the rich villainous step dad.
What an amazing set of pipes. He should do cartoon voices and narration on commercials also. 🤔 📺
Exactly my thought as well 🙂
His laugh reminded me of Vincent Price's voice in Thriller ..LOL!!!
basically ,he could be a character in a Disney movie ..I mean look at his nose
I secretly like to imagine that Bryce keeps a record of when he says 'This is lovely' on entering a tiny house, and this episode he was like, "You know what, it's been five episodes, I think it's safe to break it out again."
What a legend.
😂
haha i just watched two in a row and its almost like he goes off the same script each time!!! Has to tho I guess :)
Might as well, heartfelt and it works. 😁😝😂
You know a video is good when an 18 minute video seems like an 8 minute video ❤️❤️❤️
Oh geeze I hadn’t even noticed until I read this XD
Honestly
OMG THAT WAS 18 MINUTES??????
Indeed!
this couple matches eachother perfectly
He is the badger and she's the fox! (the sofa pillows) :)
Cute

they are probably my favorite couple on the show so far
Bryce, one day I’ll have my very own tiny home and I would love for you to come over so I can tell you, in person, how much this channel and your words have inspired me.
Thanks so much Roberta! I look forward to visiting your tiny house some day. :)
Your parents will need to have land for you to park on! It seems few TH'ers manage to find land to rent or afford to buy.
i look forward to seeing you and bryce touring your tiny house!
And I’ll be watching that episode enjoying your tiny home 😊
Roberta I'll build it for you.. Pm I'll send you what I've done with shipping containers..
i hope this show is still going when i make my small house, i wanna be on!
why can't my parents own a beautiful tropical piece of land :')
I'd settle for the land! 😃
Right?
I know, my parents are in Alaska so def not tropical and I would have to do 2x6 walls instead of 2x4s just for the insulation.
Technically subtropical. Although this month it pretty much is tropical. 30Celsius+, loud Cicadas etc. Can be unpleasantly humid or dangerously dry also sometimes.
6 Helis with monsoon buckets to put last Bush fire out near me. In drought right now.
Re 'tropicality' it is true that with global warming, bananas are now frequently grown in parts of the upper North Island. NZ grown are probably by far the best tasting of all bananas in my opinion. Compact but tasty.
Foraging for wild berries good right now. The Aussie Rosellas seem to leave blackberries alone at least. As do possums mostly.
Large wasp nests and mozzies a prob. As is the very thick imported Kenyan kikuyu grass that needs constant weedwhacking or mowing.
Controlling that is a constant pain.
Viciously flesh cutting, very flammable Pampas grass takes over too.

Tiny house and skoolie videos kicks my depression's butt... I love how Bryce is happy and excited like a child, everytime he visits these beautiful homes.
Thank you so much for bringing some happiness and hope in these trying times Bryce & Rasa!
If I have learned anything from these videos, it’s that kiwis love their decks.
I love to listen to them talk.
your charm, sensitivity, enthusiasm, love of land has been a driving force in the appreciation and proliferation of tiny. You're beautiful and the earth is proud
Thank you so. much for this lovely comment!
Jennifer McLaughlin, Congrats on finding such a well-phrased way to let Bryce and Rasa how how much appreciate them and the work they do!
For my best bro in the W🌍RLD . as much as compliments all will give is less for my bro and Rasa.
best.... best... best....🙏
As soon as he said "Wow what a beautiful parking spot you found" I was waiting for the yeah its my parents land..
they're definitely art creatives esp, Summer because acknowledging the fact that it wasnt an original idea (or even come off like they naturally thought of it, nevermind other tiny house owners) shows how important they dont grab the credit for these ideas. definitely a sign of respect with other creatives.
Great observation!👍
I'm not going to lie, that office setup was REALLY cool.
*giggles* "deck" in a New Zealand accent.
Yes, it's my inner 12 year old giggling.
I lost it at that too
I was doing a whole impression for my family and had them rolling, going on about how "it's good to 'ave a big deck. All the neighbours come ovah for my big deck!"
Same here. My gf and I are used to the American accent so it's always a good laugh when the hosts talk about their decks. I also love the way they say 'yes' in their accent.
or "You're mum is the be(a)st"
I thought Jason sounded very South African, then Summer said 'braai' and that was the confirmation I needed! ha :) Great home!
I thought Summer uses language like a South African as well and the braai just confirmed it.
LOL, I looked down to see if anyone had also thought that he was South African...
As an artist it is so thrilling to see people who are not afraid to fill their tiny home with art ; something that is so often missing in tiny homes ! I find their attitude to art, so uplifting and refreshing !
Cute tuxie at 10:24. Impressed that they managed to shoot the feline using the catwalk, knowing how uncooperative cats are, let alone wild ones.
I'm watching this from India, it's my birthday, 1.35 am in the night. Couldn't find anything better to do ❤️
Thanks for celebrating your birthday with us! Happy Birthday!!!! 💖
Happy birthday!
Happy Birthday,🎂 greetings from Australia. Have a wonderful day.
Thank you so much. Absolutely made my day 😀
Happy birthday!
This is quickly becoming my favorite channel, and it was an accidental find 😊
I found it few years ago and it is my favourite since then.
So glad you like it!
I'm itching to get home to Christchurch so I can start on my tiny house...for now patience here in the uk gives me time.e to plan. Thanks Bryce and Rossa ❤
that's actually the story of all the viewers here
Likewise
Such a sensible couple! You can tell they did their research and decided exactly what the needed/wanted. They also both have their own sense of humor that fits each other perfectly
I would recommend they stay put on that land because it is then a family compound and everyone can help each other out while still having their privacy. Too many families are spread too far apart for mutual support within easy reach.
Especially in the wake of the current pandemic...and the next one.
Hello Louise
Another wonderfully conceived and executed home.
The use of the landing that allows you to stand in the loft is a very attractive design idea as is the Office Space with the footwell.
That part for the feet at their desk space is brilliant. I have never seen that before.
People keep talking about being "LUCKY" when speaking of their tiny house locations on their parent's 20-acre farm, but it's really PRIVILEGE. I just wish someone would say that. It isn't luck, just own it. Anyways, I LOVE this tiny house and I have the privilege of being able to build one on my parent's land. I sent them this, and I can't wait to get started!
It's a linguistic construct called "an expression". Don't over analyze.
They utilized ALL my favorite tiny house tricks:
The folded window backsplash with deck bar,
The sunken foot rest in office,
The sunken stand-up strip in bedroom,
Composting toilet w a view,
Massive storage w super clever drawers in bathroom,
Kitty gym that takes up zero floorspace,
Water recycling,
Edible garden,
OUTDOOR shower,
And HIGH countertops, yes!! Countertop height was standardized many years ago when people on average were much shorter. It would make sense to raise the standard a couple inches. My countertops tops are 38" high (2"above standard. I wish I'd been braver when I designed them. 40" or more would have been even better.
. . . and that guy's voice. It might be too distracting to live with😉, but I suppose she's usd to it by now.
Really well done all around!
Hello Erika
This guy answers my questions about where to store my motorbikes, mtb, kayak, windsurfer etc etc but basically yes I figured I would have needed a seperate container somewhere just for those things and keep the living space uncluttered not to mention prevent my wife from strangling me 😄
LOVE that office loft! Very well laid out, love the projector being able to slide back and forth! Super cute and very artistic!
I love their bathroom sink so much, sounds weird but it's true 😂
Ya me too and I'm not really a fan of the bowl-on-counter style.
2 AM .... Awake and watching.
I love the fact how she says that they saw several features in different tiny houses. It's great that Bryce and Rasa give us ideas that we can say are cool n actually implement them in our tiny house project! It's a growing community and they give us a chance to learn from each other!❤️
Kitties have their own catnip garden! 😻
Love the house and the couple, but am particularly enamored of Jason's rich deep voice... just lovely!
Same here ...
South African accents are wild
Such a lovely home! The amazing thing about tiny houses is that they may not seem ideal for ourselves , but to the residents it’s perfect!
Watching this before I go to sleep and the ending music is like a lullaby sending me off to sleep and to dream about tiny houses in grassy lands
I would absolutely love to do something like this, but so often in these videos there's a family member who just happens to have some land to spare.
True, but there are also tiny house villages springing up, more places (in the US) that allow THOWs and back-yard homes. Less costly out-of- town lots for sale, etc.🏠🏚
That's how millennials happen to get their "own" property, my grandmother dying wouldn't help much and my grandfather on the other side has 9 grandchildren to 6 apartments... British numbers show property "value" outpaced earned wages 6:1.
There are plenty of videos on this channel where people found a way without owning a land. One couple chose a neighborhood they liked and they have put letters in mailboxes there asking if they could park on someone’s property. And they got a lovely parking spot this way.
In our case, I'd be that family member. 😀
I have access to lands in Europe and I'd love to share but only with a like minded people who are Plantbased🌱, minimalist and care about animals and the environment. If you are one such person let me know. I have a land you can lease. 😍
I m very interested in how people keep mosquitos, flies etc out with the fully open doors and windows. I never see screens. And love that concept of being fully open to outside but always wonder about the insect etc aspect of it.
Same!
yeah, its one of those trendy things that doesn't really work in real life. we have screens all round aside from doors which stay shut and it's essential especially here in Australia
@@boccacantiga5095 massive difference trans tasman though.. Australia is heavily infested with disgusting flies everywhere, and dangerous stuff like snakes spiders and scorpions. NZ has none of the above :-)
I am so addicted to this channel..i finished watching almost all of your videos i am from pakistan 🇵🇰 .its my dream one day i will build my own tiny home .
Bro he's South African!!! Hey boet!! 😱😱😱🇿🇦💛
I love the llama flower pot!❤️🇨🇦
me too!
THEY TOTALLY SAW THE ONE WITH THE CAT ENCLOSURE THAT LOOKS EXACTLY LIKE THIS, AND GOT INSPIRED TO CREATE A SMALLER VERSION, I LOVE IT!!!
High bench tops are top of my list when I get a new kitchen.
So many tinys are so minimal that art is not desirable, but for me their art and the stories they bring are so much a part of life, I can't imagine home without them, awesome couple, awesome tiny...AND that puppy, love me some Brussel's Griffin...love it...!
This might be my favorite tiny house. I love the whole package. There’s nothing to compromise which I would have to do with other amazing tiny houses.
Thanks for showing!
After watching this, I went back through my playlist of all of the tiny home videos I liked, and this one places in my top 5.
This house's design is probably the closest to what I would call my ideal dream design.
This channel inspired me to look into alternative living styles in Ireland and to work on legislation with local council as we're currently unable to get permissions from the government.
Best of luck! Fingers crossed for you. 🤞
I hope you pull through 💪🏽
Hey, Best of luck
Never give up!! 🙏🏼
Wishing you luck. Hope you are following the progress being made by organisations in Bristol - the Tiny House Community, Knowle West Media Centre and Agile Homes to name a few. I think Bristol City Council is really progressive re alternative housing.
They drew their new tiny house in the sand , how sweet and romantic!!! Awwww
Love that double-compartment drawer in the bathroom 😍😍
Tiny homes are very owner specific but I could move into this one and be just fine. All the planning was worth it I'm thinking.
I love your videos. Beeing almost permanent stuck in bed with a broken back this is great entertainment and also something to look forward to. Thanks
I'm so sorry to hear about your injury. Wishing you a speedy recovery! 💗
@@livingbig Thanks! And much love for making the recovery better with every single video

You meet some lovely people who live in some lovely locations
They started the design drawing in the sand!. That's what I need, I always draw it in the wind. It's really an amazing home, cozy, creative, a complete example of non committed comfort in a little magic black metal box. Thank you. There's a huge intention from me to steal you're delighful bathroom's colour palette idea \m/ .
Hello Elizabeth how are you doing!!
What a lovely couple! Thank you guys again for a great video with lots of happy vibes.
Bryce, What a beautiful home and beautiful couple. It is so functional and what a great location. I wish I had one just like it.
Beautiful home and cute dog congrats on your tiny home god bless you both.
Ruby was my favorite tiny house so far but now it’s Jason and Summer!
What a cozy perfect house! I have Never seen those bathroom drawers before, they seem great
Would love to see more homes featured that are not on family land for more creative solutions to the problem of land availability, which is the major obstacle in choosing to live in a tiny home and is the crux of the problem.
YEssss!
You guys have a beautiful home..... congratulations...!!!
One of the most beautiful tiny house I've seen so far.
Such a wonderful tiny home... perfectly design as the requirements..with a beautiful parking spot and the couple is so cool.. love it👍👍💖
That Afrikaans word "braai" just warmed my heart!
Beautiful place! Lots of clever design and use of space! ❤️💎👌👏😎
I really love office loft. It looks like a comfy place that’s isolated enough to be able to focus.
Beautiful little house, beautiful environment, everything is perfect for a peaceful life!!
Jason and summer trully very warm and their taste really super unique. 😍
No more to explain bcz I always enjoy the tiny houses through the 🙄beautiful eyes and minds of my best bro in the W🌏RLD Bryce and Rasa. 🙏
God bless all.👍
This couple is completely in tune with each other. Wish them the best.
Loved your tiny house.
Have a happy life. 😀
Every tiny house video in New Zealand so far about location "We're so lucky ..."
Tell me about it!
Yeah that's true,
Parents property or inheritance.
Until an earthquake hits. But yeah, I'd love to go to New Zealand.
If you know about the nz housing market you’ll understand why everyone lives on family land.
@@gravemind3590 Family farm. And why does that matter?
A doublewalled thermos will keep your coffee HOT ALL MORNING. I got tired of reheating my coffee.. It destroys the flavor. Awesome crib. Love the cat walk 👊😎

I love how you guys are finding all these treasures in New Zealand - especially with COVID and being unable to travel. Im surprised with how many Tiny Homes we have in NZ. Thank you for sharing! Your hard work to keep creating content is not unnoticed. Love this home too and this couple seem so very lovely :)
Am loving ur home it warms my heart it also gives me more reason to go tiny so loving it.
Beautiful! Thank you for making these videos Bryce and Rasa!! Much love
This was a well thought out great house... I would love to learn more about all the different methods for grey water processing that have appeared on your show Bryce.. This one with a worm farm filtration unit sounds really interesting.... Some "special theme technically detailed videos" would be great.
Hello Rebecca how are you doing!!
Agreed. Would like to see & hear more about the working set up of the tinies you present- power, water & grey water, compost... also can we find out the solar supplier for this one please?
Yeh, didn't really go into to much depth on these things etc.

I like the dual lofts that they've got going on. The working space seems like such a comfortable place to sit and get things done.
Summer is obviously really down to earth and seems fun. The sort of person it'd be great to have a few drinks with and be silly. It's good to see someone just being natural, relaxed and honest. Jason seems nice also. This couple seem like a great match too. It's a really nice tiny house.

my god puppy so cute .....love bedroom loft idea
This house is a really good amalgamation of different design features from other builds. Different themed videos could be a regular feature. Such as a compilation of good office ideas, standing room lofts, bathroom storage, stairs/ladder/climbing wall (ways to get up), accessibility features etc
Wow what a beautiful house and with eye catching surroundings............ just imagine urself in a small part of paradise..
If lockdown continues much longer Bryce is going to see every tiny house in New Zealand.
