The official description released by their record label at that time was "Arrogant and bitterly alone. Acknowledging that you have become a poisonous influence in the lives of others." I don't think Vessel necessarily writes from a linear or autobiographical perspective. It's always pretty metaphorical and abstract - he likes to give snapshots of different emotional moments without the context. He paints us a picture and we may not understand what we're looking at, exactly, but his intent is the emotion it conveys and how it makes us feel. Like a musical expressionist painting.

@@michaelpalma6346 Honestly, the first time I heard Euclid my life literally stopped, and I had to take stock and kinda rejoin the world after. The whole album is genius, but Euclid affected me.

One of the most beautiful things I love about Vessels writing and Sleep Token is that, although the lore is about the deity of Sleep, you can interpret any of their songs in your own unique way and that’s why they connect so deeply with people everywhere. #Worship

Lol time seems to fly by when you listen to ST 😂. Yes, every song is different than the last but all tie together. The lyrics can mean whatever you want them to, that's the beauty of Vessel's writing, he leaves the emotions out there and let's the listeners apply it to their own experiences. Yes, he's a poet for sure and a true artist in how be constructs each song. II is just as talented. Together they are phenomenal. Loved the reaction guys. Dallas's face said it all every time the song increased in beat or tempo This song builds as it goes and Dallas your face, 😅 was awesome. Can't wait for more. Ugh, dont go two weeks between reactions please. 🙏 I get anxious waiting for Sleep Token reactions 😂😂. I just love seeing people fall in love with them.

Worship! If it helps, the lyrics are definitely more deep than what most people realize at first. There is actualy a deeper underlying story told throughout the three Sleep Token albums. This is part of the reason why people requested that you listen to all of it in order. ST is so much more than just the vision of a very talented man. It is modern performance art.
The gist of the ST lore is this. Vessel tells the story of his relationship with a mythical deity called Sleep. Much of the first album is Vessel coming to terms with this sort of negative symbiotic relationship. He realizes that he is in too deep, but he doesn't really want to get out. The second album is about Vessel trying to accept his predicament, but ultimately realizing that he is using Sleep, just like Sleep is using him. The third album is about Vessel learning from his mistakes, accepting his past, and ultimately being reborn as a new version of himself. Vessel's title comes from the idea that his entire life is dedicated to serving Sleep. The songs he creates are "offerings" in "worship" to Sleep and Sleep uses him to impose her will (hence the name, Vessel).
All of this ST "lore" is evident in the lyrics. The theme of this song comes up multiple times in other parts of the trilogy, as do many other themes. For example the idea of being consumed (both emotionally and physically), the feeling of being lost or drowning, codependance, the use of chemistry and alchemical concepts (like the relation of different elements to one another), and ultimately redemption are all present in the lyrics throughout the three albums. Some songs in the later albums make call backs to earlier songs and the final song of the third album, ties the entire trilogy together.
This lore, is just a cool and unique medium through witch the man that is Vessel, tells his story. I am sure as you continue to go through the songs, people will point out more of how this lore plays a role in the songs. For now, just know that Vessel is still in the infancy of his relationship to Sleep. This songs marks the first moment where he has some doubt or hesitation as to the direction this relationship is headed. The previous song, "Levitate" and the next song "Higher" are somewhat connected in that Vessel is still lost in the euphoria of his newfound love and (even though he has, with this song, begun to realize something is off) wants to dive even deeper into it.
I'm sure I speak for many when I say that I have loved watching your reactions so far and am excited for the next ones! Sleep Token is a lot to take in, so hopefully I can provide some clarity as you continue on your journey. ST changed my life. Worship!

I love sleep token so much 😢 when their most recent album was released, I had a little obsessive moment and only listened to them for like 3 weeks straight, and I listen to music for around 10 hours a day so it was a lot lol I had to listen to “Are You Really Okay” about 15 times before I could finally hear it without sobbing 😂😂 so stoked for more sleep token reactions. ❤❤❤

Every song has its own personailty which is rare these days. Try DYWTYLM or The Love You Want for more intriguing edm type stuff or check out Gods if u like their heavier stuff. Either way this is the most incredible n diverse band Ive ever heard. I was a professional musician for over 30 yrs and Ive never heard anything like them before. Simply put, theyre all extremely talented n even more brilliant 💯
