    Sirui just released NEW Prime lenses for the nikon z system. Watch my review HERE : czcams.com/video/O9fI7jSUcGE/video.html
    𝐆𝐄𝐓 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐒𝐈𝐑𝐔𝐈 𝐒𝐍𝐈𝐏𝐄𝐑 𝐋𝐄𝐍𝐒𝐄𝐒 𝐇𝐄𝐑𝐄 : bit.ly/3uupGwR
    𝐔𝐒𝐄 𝐌𝐘 𝐂𝐎𝐃𝐄 "𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐚𝐬𝟓" 𝐅𝐎𝐑 𝐀 𝟓% 𝐃𝐈𝐒𝐂𝐎𝐔𝐍𝐓
    𝐇𝐨𝐧𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 : Nikon 24-120 F4 (full frame and costs 1k but i can see it being useful) , voigtlander 35mm 1.2 (great image quality , but expensive). Will continue updating this comment if i find anything else worth reccomending.
    𝐍𝐄𝐖 𝐆𝐎𝐎𝐃 𝐁𝐔𝐃𝐆𝐄𝐓 𝐋𝐄𝐍𝐒𝐄𝐒 𝐅𝐎𝐑 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟒: 𝐓𝐓𝐀𝐑𝐓𝐈𝐒𝐀𝐍 𝟏𝟎𝐌𝐌 𝐅𝟐 , 𝐕𝐢𝐥𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐱 𝟓𝟔𝐦𝐦 𝟏.𝟕

    𝐕𝐢𝐥𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐱 𝟓𝟔𝐦𝐦 𝟏.𝟕 : amzn.to/49zlMRW
    𝐅𝐔𝐋𝐋 𝐋𝐈𝐒𝐓 𝐁𝐄𝐋𝐎𝐖
    WIDE PRIMES :
    Viltrox 13mm 1.4 (Superb image/build quality)
    Sigma 16mm 1.4 (Great image/build quality)
    Viltrox 23mm 1.4 (Only if you can find it around 250$)
    Nikon 24mm 1.7 DX (Small , sharp , nikon native lens)
    TTArtisan 27mm 2.8 (cheap, AF, small/light , acceptable image quality)
    I DONT RECOMMEND :
    1. Nikon 28mm 2.8 (the 24mm DX exists) (Unless you have a FF camera)
    2. Nikon 26mm 2.8 (again the 24mm DX exists) (Unless you have a FF camera)
    3. Wide 7artisans/ttartisans MF lenses (terrible image quality, a hot mess) (except the fisheye)
    4. Voigtlander 23mm 1.2 (Perfect build quality, beautiful rendering but really soft at f 1.2, really expensive for a manual focus lens) (only for the purists)
    "NORMAL" PRIMES :
    1. Sigma 30mm 1.4 (overall good lens especially for the price, the worst out of the sigma trio)
    2. Nikon 40mm F2 (Sharp , nikon native , great price)
    3. Sigma 56mm 1.4 (Excellent image quality , great price against its competitors)
    4. 7Artisans 35mm 0.95 (great price fot that aperture, good image quality, has charachter , MF)
    5. TTArtisan 50mm 1.2 (Under 100$, good image quality even at f1.2 , great build quality , MF)
    I DONT RECOMMEND :
    1. Nikon 50mm 1.8 (The sigma 56mm 1.4 is better) (Unless u have other FF camera)
    2. Viltrox 56mm 1.4 (The sigma is better)
    3. Viltrox 33mm 1.4 (The sigma 30mm is better)
    4. 7Artisan 25mm and 50mm 0.95 (Garbage , unusable at 0.95)
    5. Voigtlander 35mm 1.2 ( Amazing build/image quality but way to expensive for a MF lens) (again only for the purists)
    SEMI TELEPHOTO/PORTRAIT PRIMES:
    1. Viltrox 75mm 1.2 (GOAT, best portrait lens for crop mirrorless cameras, slow AF at f1.2 but razor sharp)
    I DONT RECOMMEND :
    1. Viltrox 85mm 1.8 (The 75mm is just better) (I'll sell my 85mm and upgrade to the 75mm)
    2. Nikon 85mm 1.8 (Same reasons as above) (Unless you have other FF camera)
    ZOOM LENSES :
    I recommend basically all nikon zoom lenses. Amazing glass , you cannot go wrong with it
    1. Nikon 12-28mm PZ
    2. Nikon 16-50mm kit
    3. Nikon 18-140mm
    4 Nikon 50-250mm (get it with a bundle or used)

      24mm vs 26mm:
      The 26mm is actually quite smaller than 24mm. Practically, Z Fc with 26mm fits on a coat pocket (or even on smaller bags) - 24mm doesn't. So, in terms of Focal Length it makes sense what you are saying, but in terms of practicallity, I believe I will use my 26mm more (the 24mm actually is brand new - I got it yesterady for my Nameday :)). 26mm makes Z Fc looking similar on size with Fujifilm X100 series.
      I am not using 26mm on FF mainly because I do not like 26mm FOV (also 26mm is quite weak at the edges), but I love the 40mm FOV on Z Fc.

      @@stavros.fourfourianakis but the 26mm is also twice the price and is a 2.8😭 but yeah if you actually have pockets that fit the zfc with the 26mm then go for it. During winter the zfc fits with every lens inside my coat, but during summer it won't fit in any of my trousers. I would kill for a Ricoh GR just because of the really small size of that camera

    I really like your content, I love it that you produce content for the nikon Z FC (even more, I love it that you really adopt it!). Your reviews are sincere, organic and well made, unlike tons of other reviews we see here that just follow the same format and have the same content. I just trust your word more because I know you actually use the camera, you talk from your experience and you actually show your work.
    Thank you also for the honest and adapted lens recommendation, you are so right to do it sincerely and exclude expensive-ass lenses, which are not "compatible" with the financial context of nikon Z FC users. Really great and sincere content overall, I sure am following you :)

    Please time-stamp the video if you could - both for the recommendations AND the non-recommendations. I am glad to see you made comparisons and different recommendations within lenses of the same "batch" - such as the Sigma trios and the 7artisans 0.95 trios. That's quite rare to see because most would think their performance is identical.
    For further lens venture, I definitely recommend trying out some Laowa offerings. None of their lens even have electronic contact for exif, but they produce a lot of unique designs unseen anywhere else with competent optics.

    In my opinion, the best value for money in the telephoto-zoom range for Nikon Z (although for Full-Frame) is the Tamron 70-300mm, which gives us a focal range in APSC systems, like our beloved Nikon Z fc's, of 105-450mm, however it has not any stabilization system but the price is very compelling.. You should check it out also! Greetings from Mexico! 🎉

      If you expand to f-mount options, then the old AF-P 70-300 is a very competitive alternative: has VR, has a cheap DX version, and is *sharper* on the long end.

I took it to my recent trip to Switzerland earlier this year and the quality improvement was so great compared to the 16-300 I didn't bother to carry around the other lens. Pretty sharp and the focus worked great for me. That's why i really need to cover the telephoto range now with something at least comparable in quality terms with the 17-50. It's a pitty the Tamron 70-300 for Nikon Z doesn't have VR as it aims for the full frame cameras that already have IBIS...

    Hey, man, new sub, wanted to let you know that I own the z30. I didn't have any lenses other than the kit lens (which is great and all), but most of my lenses are e mount. Megadap makes an electronic mount adapter for e mount to z mount. Let me tell you that has opened up so many opportunities with the e mount lenses I own already, majority of them being Voigtlander. For AF lenses, the adapter follows Sony protocol, making AF and OIS functional as well (including eye AF). So that's an option, too. I definitely vouch for that adapter. Love your vids.

      @IliasKoureas  Před 9 měsíci +1

      Thank you Luis!! Have you had any issues with the auto focus with these sony lenses on the z30? The one lens I love from the e mount is the sigma 18-50mm 2.8 which makes that adapter you are talking about really tempting 🤩

    • @artphototech
      @artphototech Před 9 měsíci

      @@IliasKoureas it's called the Magadap ETZ21PRO, and while I do not own any Sigma lenses, their website states that Sigma is compatible. If you don't own any lenses (e Mount), then it may not be a fruitful purchase. However, if you have money to burn and would like to try different lenses since Z mount APSC lenses are rather scarce, then this is definitely a way to get that. Just a bit of caution as these adapters can be faulty at times, well, according to some reviews, the only issue I had is with my Tamron 20mm, it is a tight fit on the mount. My Sony 85 1.4 is superb on it though. Hope that helps. Thanks for responding.

      Pretty similar sharpness but the lenses themselves are different. If you are looking for a small street photography lens then the 24mm is the answer.
      If you want a street photography lens but also a versatile portrait lens in one then the sigma is for you.

      If you find yourself shooting in dark situations then the 24mm will for sure do wonder's for you and is definitely worth buying. It compliments the kit lens perfectly. For example when I'm traveling I use my kit lens during the day because it's so versatile and I switched to a wide prime (like the 24mm) during the night to get good quality low light images.

    • @IliasKoureas
      @IliasKoureas  Před měsícem

      Personally i dont care about the lack of ibis. I shoot with this camera all the time around iso 3200 and the outcome out of the sensor is great. For example most of my night street photography is with the viltrox 23mm 1.4. No ibis and no VR in the lens. I just shoot wide open , 1/60 shutter speed or so and bump up the iso. The trick in these situations is to burst and not single shot. When you burst your 2nd and 3rd image will be as shaky as your first image because you dont shake your camera by pressing the button halfway through. Of course having IBIS helps out but i wouldnt care as much about it.

    Hey Ilias, you directed me here from your other video of street shots in the snow. I have watched this really helpful video on Lenses for my Zfc and I have managed to get second hand an unused Z 40mm f2 SE, which I am chuffed with and now goes alongside my kit Z 16-50mm Lens.
    I really fancy adding the Viltrox 13mm f1.4 that you recommend, if I can get it second hand, as I would really like the extra wide angle for Landscapes and Architecture. My one worry is size.
    I sold my Nikon DSLR and Lenses and moved to the Zfc for speed and portability which makes me go outside to take photos. My photography interests are: Street, City Tourism, Landscape & Family photos.
    How do you feel about the Viltrox 13mm, is it too much of a lump, if one of my strong requirements is to have all 3 Lenses and the body handy in a small bag?
    Keep up the great work.
    Chris

    • @IliasKoureas
      @IliasKoureas  Před 8 měsíci +1

      Excellent thought process there my friend. Well the 13mm is definitely "bulky" in your camera bag. You might want to check for laowa lenses. They are manual focus but that shouldn't be a problem since you want a wide angle lens for landscape and architecture. Laowa lenses are even wider so you might like that.
      But in terms of image quality, nothing beats the viltrox , especially wide open or at f2.8 (important for astrophotography).
      If you find a good deal on the used market, I would suggest to get it.
      But at the end of the day it's your decision so you might find something else.
      Cheers my friend 🥂

      Thank you brother! First and foremost , how do you like the helios on the z50? Im thinking of adapting one just for artistic projects.
      Secondly about your question. Since you dont really like the wide 30mm focal range i think the 40mm f2 is great option. I dont think Nikon produces anything else between 30mm-50mm for the z system. Maybe consider also checking out the sigma 56mm 1.4. Awesome lens but you already have a 50mm with the helios. If you have an f to z adaptor you can also grab the nikon 35mm G DX. These are the options that i would consider my friend around the focal length that you like.

    • @Zei.Konstantinos
      @Zei.Konstantinos Před 8 měsíci

      Well, Helios certainly gives a cinematic look without even trying, so you can easily recognize photos taken with it due to its unique signature. The bad thing is that you will miss some shots along the way because of its rugged manual focus (focus peaking helps a lot). Overall, shooting with it is fun, its bokeh and colors are fantastic and it comes handy in low-light situations, so I recommend it.

      Hmmm I don't think you can do all these things with only this lens. It's a good lens but it's not wide enough for weddings (inside the church) and it's not telephoto enough to do portraits.. it also doesn't have VR so for videography you will need a gimbal. If you want to stick on a small budget I would go with the viltrox 23mm 1.4/Nikon 24mm 1.7 and sigma 56mm 1.4 or viltrox 85mm 1.8.
      Pick two and enjoy your weddings and portraits. Your clients will love the photos. 😁
      I usually use the 23mm inside the church for 90% of the shots (I switch to the 85mm for a minute to get portraits from inside the church when nothing is happening)

    Totally agree about the Nikon 28 f/2.8. Totally useless given the the new 24 f/1.7 DX. Super grumpy Nikon didn’t have that DX lens ready for the Z fc’s release.

      Totally disagree. A few mm makes a big difference in the look of the pictures. If you don't think so, then it is contradictory for this video to then recommend 30mm primes.

    • @simonm.1122
      @simonm.1122 Před 4 měsíci

      @@GuillermoFerrari The 28 is a fine lens, and it focuses super close, giving you some great shooting options. If you also have a full frame Z camera, than it is the right choice. The 24 however, being a stop and a half faster, is the better choice if you are only shooting DX. I also prefer the slightly wider 35 mm equivalent view that the 24 offers.

    • @IliasKoureas
      @IliasKoureas  Před 8 měsíci

      That lens that you want doesn't exist. You have to get one wide lens for astro and one semi telephoto lens for portraits.

      @@IliasKoureas Can you suggest some? I'm looking at your video on Nikon 24mm f/1.7, out of that and 12-18mm and Viltrox 13mm, which would you buy if you had to buy only one? Please be patient with me as I have no first-hand knowledge, so just want to be on the safer side.

    • @IliasKoureas
      @IliasKoureas  Před 8 měsíci

      @@gambet0007 for starry landscape your best choice is the viltrox 13mm 1.4. Awesome lens , great for astro, vlogging, architecture , landscape etc. And for a bokeh lens I would go either for the sigma 56mm 1.4 , or the viltrox 75mm 1.2. Since you are a beginner I would suggest the sigma to save some money. The sigma is such a good lens and everyone will love your portraits and bokeh shots 💪
      You might wanna buy the "bokeh" lens first because the milky way season is over and will start again next year during spring 🌱.

    Awsm review but pls say i want to know whether nikon z 30 with 16- 50mm kitlens video quality or z 30 with sigma 56mm f1.4 video quality is better. Especially in indoor very good lighting conditions.

      @PradeepKumar-tq4ev Před 5 měsíci

      Are kit lens 16 - 50 mm enough for very good video quality or do I need to buy sigma 56mm f 1.4. how much is the video quality difference between both lens. Pls say am really confused 😢😢

    • @IliasKoureas
      @IliasKoureas  Před 4 měsíci

      The 56mm is sharper and will give you more bokeh and is better for indoors because of the amount of light you can capture with the 1.4 aperture. But you have to be careful because it's not very wide. I don't know what you will be shooting indoors but personally I would prefer something around 20-30mm

      Hmm that's an excellent question. This can be answered with thinking what type of photography you enjoy. If travel/landscape photography is your thing then the 18-140mm is for sure the way to go. If you like street photography you could go with the 24mm 1.7 so you can shoot during the day and during the night. If my main type of photography was portrait photography then the viltrox 75mm 1.2 would be on my camera all the time 😁 it all depends on what you enjoy to shoot

      @@ALMV1987 hmm one lens for street and portraits? If we had a fast zoom available then this would be the obvious answer, something like the sigma 18-50mm 2.8 or Tamron 17-70mm 2.8 for Sony. Sadly we don't have these two excellent lenses available. In this case I would suggest the 56mm 1.4 sigma . Perfect for portraits and a good enough focal length for street photography. I don't suggest anything wider because I guess that you already have the small 16-50mm kit lens
