Just a little known fact. This instrumental was written by the great soul singer and guitarist Bobby Womack.
Wore this record out!!! I used to get on the highway and blast this. By the way, that whole album was the bomb 💣
I still have the album and also have it on CD
George Benson , one of the best
and this one is a true masterpiece .
he made a wonderful duet with Carlos Santana playing "breezin " live in 1976 . 🖐️🇨🇵
Written by Bobby Womack
Fun Fact: Each of the seven songs from the "Breezin'" album were completed in one take. That's right. This entire album was recorded in ONE DAY! Think about that!!
One of my favorites of George Benson. This was such a huge hit! Brings back a lot of memories!
Classic of the 70s for sure.
This song is one of the first instrumentals I remember hearing as a kid. This is a Saturday afternoon vibe...right here... I KNEW this would get you, JJ...just by the way the flute had you at the very beginning...I was like"just wait"..LOL. Great reaction!! And Mother Pop - you ALWAYS understand the assignment!!!
Thx so much Chelly,i try!
Sorry Corn,i said the wrong name in my message 2 U,my bad!i appreciate all your comments 2 me especially this last one,Funk on my Sis!!
Masterpiece album
This Album is in my record cabinet.George Benson is a great artist.Never gets old.
Man I dig George Benson ❤️ so smooth ✌️
This and This Masquerade are my favorite George Benson songs. Amazing artist
Hi JJ! This “Classic” finally made it to U! Great request Motha P
I appreciate your comment KB!
@@caseybrown6848 Thank U Sir! Peace!
A jazz guitar living legend for sure! (and also a great singer as well). George Benson has inspired and influenced droves of would-be, up & coming jazz guitar players. This dude is "different".
This is one of my favorite artist. Fell in love with his music as a child. Truly a musical GENIUS. Superb request !!
So thankful I grew up hearing 50s-80s bros on the radio. They r unrivaled, w/o peer.
Back in the day, some music, didn't need words. The instruments stood on their own. If u haven't checked out Love's Theme, by Barry White. This song, taught me what violins n violas, could do. Blew my mind. Do a live version, so u can watch him conduct the orchestra.
Yes so true the music speaks for itself
Absolutely. Love's Theme by Barry was a monster!!!
Pittsburgh man put the jazz world on notice “ there’s a new sheriff in town” and they listened
Love George Benson. My favorite part is whenever he sings with his guitar 🥰. So right, they don't make 'em like this anymore. My favorite album by "Magic Fingers" Benson.
Masquerade is another beauty.
Along with Stevie Wonder's Song in the Key of Life and Crusaders Street Life, this album was played on heavy rotation in my house as a kid. As a white British boy growing up in the late 70's/80's, most of my friends and their parents would solely listen to rock or punk, so I was glad to have a more varied musical education. You should do yourself a favour and listen to the entire album, as it's a masterpiece!
I absolutely adore Street Life!
One the best to have ever stroke the strings. Very nice request.🎶
This was written by the late great Bobby Womack and the first version was played by Hungarian guitarist Gabor Zsabo in 1971, 5 years before George Benson. But it was Benson's version that walked away with the Grammy.
One of my favorite instrumentals of all-times! Now all I need is some "Knucklehead" by Grover Washington Jr.
Classic summer joint !!
Always loved this song. Great reaction!!!Thanks for doing this JJ.
My pleasure!
George Benson is probably one of the greatest Jazz Guitarist/Musicians to ever live. He's known for his instrumentals, but he can sing as well as play the guitar. George is also known for his scatting during his guitar solos. He scatts in unison with his guitar. You'd be amazed to hear it bro.
The song was written by great guitarist Bobby Womack.
A master of the guitar and a vocalist who is just so good smooth sexy etc. A great listen
6:35 Dayyuuummm the octave riffing on the outro ala Wes Montgomery always gives me goosebumps 🎸🔥🔥🔥🔥
No1 smooth jazz artist
One of the great Jazz instrumentalists of all time. Breezin remains a masterpiece of the genre
One 1⃣ of my all time favorites hot 🔥 smooth jazz can't go wrong
Classic instrumental. Not only a jazz standard, this is considered essential yacht rock. I saw him in concert in 1989, he was amazing!
The title of this song is so appropriate. Brezzin' has such a great vibe to it. And the musical arrangement is excellent. Can't go wrong with George Benson. Great selection and reaction JJ!
Love this song so much! First heard it on a Malcolm in the middle episode
An all time great guitarist
The sound you're talking about represents "early morning" "A bright & sunny day" "a nice breezy sunny morning" !
MP beautiful classic 🎼🎼🎼🔥🔥🔥🔥❤❤❤
Glad U enjoyed it Wake!
A vibe like no other song.
Try my favorite by George Benson: Turn Your Love Around or The Greatest Love of All. There are so many good songs by this artist. I met one of his nieces when I went to school in Greensburg, PA. I was told he was from this area.
DJ Jazzy Jeff And The Fresh Prince (Time To Chill 1988)...
Classic track 📀 they had this song as the theme song to the channel 4 news 😌😎🥰
Such a timeless classic!!!❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️Love that jazz guitar. So glad you liked it
If you dig this, there's a guy named Eric Gale who did similar beautiful jazzy guitar instrumentals around the same time as this track. "She Is My Lady" is a perfect example of his wonderful lyrical playing,
🥰💕💕🥰 Hadn’t listened to it for a long time. Thank you!
Benson, like G Clinton or N Rodgers=transcendent. Benson's 🎶 Give Me The Night 🎶 is 1 of the best videos, ever - watch it - a whole azz vibe by itself.
All Time Favorite George Benson Song & Instrumental .. Love this for years!!!!
This was a skating song for us growing up.
People forget that long before he stepped to the mic, George Benson was known only as a guitarist. He still kept at least one instrumental track on all of his soul/pop albums after this commercial breakthrough project.
Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince sampled this in ''88 with "Time to Chill"
Always loved this song! Love the flute in this song for sure! 🎸🎶🎶🎶
BOBBY WOMACK WROTE IT
Excellence defines George Benson
I love listening to instrumentals because my mind is free to make think. Each time I hear this song there are different lyrics. It is so calming. I listen to this song on Saturday mornings quit often, brewing coffee and making breakfast. Sometimes with a peach mimosa along side my coffee😊Nice reaction I did not know it was sampled so I will have to listen to that song now thank you for introducing me to another new song
I have this CD and vinyl album
In the into the instrument is a flute!!!
Well done,so relaxing.Keep going deep into the vault of beautiful memorable music. This melody is used as the intro. to at least one radio talk show programme. The beauty of great instrumental music is that it needs no lyrics. The instruments are more than adequate, they speak and this recording is a classic example. Continue your search for these treasures.
No they don't make music like this anymore. Thanks Mother Popcorn
U welcome TA,this iz Mother Pop!
classic. I used to dig this when it came out. then, more recently as an adult I worked at a smooth jazz radio station and it haunted me. 🤣
This entire LP - just the best
GOAT!
Another great Benson is "Affirmation."
I keep this beautiful needle dropper album in my current playlist, always. Thanks, guys!
(JJ, there is only one song with vocals on this album, “This Masquerade.”)
I was 15 when this album came out and it was my go to jam! No matter how pissed off I was & angry I was all l I had to do was put this on my turntable and I was smiling and dancing!
This was my very first album, followed closely by a giant sized poster, amazing artist.
Check out Affirmation and 6 to 4 by George Benson.
Took wifey to the concert when we were still dating. Got her a tee shirt. Good music, good times.
Nice!
You can always count on Mother Popcorn to come with the good stuff!
Thx so much HT,this iz Mother Pop!
@@caseybrown6848 your requests are the same as requests that I would make. We both seem to be people of a certain age and experience who love music. Thank you for bringing the good music. I hope that your requests, as well as others, will help JJ reach the coming generations and keep the music and the memory of the musicians alive and vibrant! You rock Mother Pop!
I try and thx again
To elaborate on an earlier post the “ effect” that you hear in the beginning and throughout the song is the combination of multiple flutes harmonized supported by strings.
You cannot beat live musicianship in most cases ………
Please react to the world is a ghetto by George benson - his best song in my opinion
You need to check track 5 on that same album it's called so this is Love
I love your reactions
💖
In general, if you like this you might like Tim Bowman - "Let It Shine".
Bobby Womack wrote it and Gabor Szabo did an earlier cover.George however became a huge commercial sucess
with the release of this song and album. He was well known before in jazz circles but became a household name after this.🎶🌴
gettin high without needin any dope!😁😇😁
They don't. You're so right.
Its called a trill my dude
What’s that song in the intro?
React to live in LA🔥🔥🔥
What you call a "Disney effect" is simply a person playing a flute.
Did you receive my payment?
Yeah.
