@@someclassicitaliandude the all he was christian comes from the deal he made the pope he said he was christian but in reality he didn't believe in it he said that because he had to end the Roman question (which happen after the kingdom of Italy invade the pope and Rome in retaliation the church said they will not recognize Italy Mussolini made a deal to make a small state with the pope as head and said to make Christianity religion of the country for that reason it was mandatory also in school he said he was christian but just because this, he in reality wasn't christian he just use the religion to fix the relation between the church and Italy)
@@CVC174 Yeah actually, mussolini in the esrly years of 1900 he did some specch with so however including he demanded that God will make a lighting bolt for him onto 5 minutes, using this "proof" against existence of God.
Then among 1914, he declared himself against war, getting in line with the socialist party, he then declared himself pro-war and was kicked out of the party.
Still he remained strongly atheist.
Once he became deputate, he realized he wont go that far without getting support by catholics. And this is thanks also to election of Pius XI.
Where there he became a Christian , thus however he did not praticated the religion too much.
He also becamed filo-islamic and got title of protector of muslims in libya, however, he never converted.
Yet note that he still did not affilated himself and remained atheist on what people can see and their opinion.
So yeah, the PNF and PFR were officially catholic, but mussolini depends.
