your nephew is an unbelievable vocalist. does he do cleans? out of interest. i scream too (not like this) but struggle to sing clean. like, as in im useless. my theory is the more guttural the vocal the less likely it is they can sing clean (mikael excepted). thanks this is brilliant plus i recognise you might have made up that this is your nephew but please continue the fantasy for me

You can tell these guys have great chemistry. You can feel and hear in this song and how it's written. So stoked to hear the rest of the album. I was not the biggest fan of their last album, but this one is more of the DS I know. It's like a perfect combination of Repugnance and Passage.
They played this song and another song from this album when they came to my hometown this July. And yes, that one is super sick too. Really can't wait for the full album.

Usually not a huge fan of brutal death metal, but Defeated Sanity is too good to ignore. Lille is a machine, both on drums and guitar

this is BRUTAL death? i'd have gone for slamming. im out of date. i still think nihility by decpitated is the greatest death album but this song fucking hits me and i want to hear more like this, just dont know where to start. knowing the genre would help!

I like that the techy vibe of the last two albums is still there, just in a gnarlier format. Some early Atrocity vibes in the riffing too.

Josh vocals sounded sick here. I didnt think his range could get any lower.
Incredible and I have to say that this is the best production the band has had. I liked the dirty and raw edge that other albums had but this clean sound showcases how good they really are.

Amazing song, as good as expected.
Tbh the only thing that bother me a bit are vocals. Josh is an excellent vocalist, so good on stage and a top notch asset to this band. But to me there just not enough variations in his vocals on recordings. AJ, jens or konni used different kind of vocals to emphasise some riffs, some groovier parts, where josh is constantly using the exact same vocal tone over and over. I hope to be wrong when we will listen to the entire album, but it was already like that in the previous album. Once again dont get me wrong, I love the song, and Im so glad to have a new DS album !
I don't just agree, I would even go further with this. I don't like his vocals, I miss the level disgustingness, darkness, Konni was their best vocalist.

My most anticipated album for 2024
One of the very few BDM bands I've ever cared about. Not only because they're from Germany but because Grubers drumming is awesome with little articulations during his blasts. Not many other drummers go with his approach and that's what makes them stand out amongst the filth.
And holy crap he even added 80s drum pads to his set up. The only other technical drummer in metal that I can note is the drummer in Watchtower.

colin probably had a thousand thoughts on how to improve the mix from the sanguinary impetus sessions.... it's clear that he's magnified the brutality 1000x and kept some of the utterly roomy and clean feel of the drums somehow, at the same time.
agree with the other guy that this is more punishing than the last album as well and contains less overall gimicky sections
