Aljo is a very good interviewee; honest, analytical, and can be funny. Not the biggest fan of his fighting style, but he's undoubtedly a great talent and doesn't apologize for his gameplan.

Finally people showing love to Aljo. Been a fan for 4 years. Since 2019. Never understood all the hate he gets but respect him even more because of how he deals with it all.
Most of us our first time seeing him fight was the Yan 1 fight. That card had a lot of eyes bc Izzy vs Jan. So it was a very bad first impression. But since then he's proved us all wrong. He beat Yan in the rematch.

Aljo won 4-1 easy. Cejudo getting rounds for sprawling and applying pressure on Aljo's recovering neck yet he was being out struck.
Nah cejudo landed more damaging shots.. literally if cejudo would of stopped 1 more takedown he would of won… that how close it was.. saying 4-1 i just crazy

Not really a wild take. Initially I agreed. I think really the only round Henry definitely won was 5. 2&3 was razor close but Aljo got it.

No damage. He clearly won on points, clearly won on damage. Yet he was humble in saying that he was lucky the judges were on his side. Was a high level fight both working on imposing their strategy.

I completely changed my opinion on Aljo.. he fought very well on Saturday. Looked impressive mixing it up on the feet.. and even getting several takedowns on Cejudo. I thought he won clearly 3-2 rounds. I like the way he carries himself as champion and I am now a fan. He's the real deal... I can't wait to see him vs Suga.
I rewatched the fight this morning (Can't ever base my opinion off watching Saturday after consuming 1 too many), and I just can't see how anyone could score it 3-2 Henry. I agree with you and it was clearly 3-2 Aljo, and I could make an argument 4-1. His length is always going to a problem for Bantamweights. O'Malley will need some major work on his TDD to hold off Aljo. Aljo isn't dumb enough to keep it on the feet.

@Nigalas Cage Stop all that talk. Cejudo was marketed at the greatest combat sports athlete and was doing very well. Cejudo was lucky he got a spilt decision. He out struck Cejudo and got more takedowns/more done in the clinch. 22 out of 24 media outlets scored the fight for Aljo, 4 out of those 22 that gave Aljo the win scored it 49-46. That so far is his best win. People need to get over it and give Aljo his flowers.

Aljo's skill set and level has never been in doubt, but he leveled up big time. You can see he's still getting better.
yeah man it was surprising, Aljo outstruck Henry. Aljo landed more takedowns than Henry. Aljos face was clean, Henry's was beat up. There is not a single metric where Henry won the fight, and Henry's demeanor after the fight is the final convincing factor: he KNEW he lost.

Ya man, I truly don’t understand why he gets so much hate. Yes, there have been a couple ‘weird’ incidents like with Yan and Dillashaw, but overall he’s fun to watch fight and seems like a great guy overall
It was a highly competitive technical title fight all right, and I was rooting for Henry Cejudo to get it done, but after watching the fight, it's pretty clear to me that the champion Aljamain Sterling would retain his title with the fight ending up at the hands of the judges. I see Sterling dominating/outclassing and finishing Sean O'Malley, and Merab would also do the same thing to Sean. Props to Henry for a gutsy performance in the fight, but that three years of layoff certainly had a slight effect on his game. If Henry decides not to retire again, he needs to fight Merab (and of course beat him) if he is to fight for the bantamweight title again.
To come off 3 year lay off Henry looked good I thought he won it still hope he stays active & keeps going for the goals would be dope to see him achieve them, he bags that w/activity

Sterling is like a mosquito; tricky, clumsy and all over the place inside the octagon, but it's an effective fighting style. It was hilarious how his own people cheered for him at the start of the fight and then they booed once the fight ended and until he left the building...
