    Something else you can do. If Urza’s Saga is chapter 2, you can draw for turn, make a construct, then end the turn with Sundial to keep Saga.
    This notably isnt super useful in most cases since you never get to attack with constructs and never get a main phase until you stop doing it, but if you need blockers for say Rhinos this is absolutely insanely good since you can slowly assemble a huge army of constructs while the opponent runs out of gas then blast them for lethal

    I feel like you should ditch the lands shenanigans and just do a bog standard manabase, capping it at 23 lands, and then axing the lantern. It'd give you more room for ephemerates, as well as redraws with the red/white horizon land. I think you could also re-add some Flickerwisps, your second iteration of the deck is kinda low on white cards for Solitude. This might also be a good deck for the three mana Chandra, being as her tokens serve as good blockers when you end the turn. Also, as said in many other comments, Urabrask's Forge is a good card for this deck.

    • @MagicAids
      @MagicAids  Pƙed rokem

      I tried all of the cards you mentioned, even Urabrask's Forge! The forge is just a bit clunky since it only makes one token and takes a long time for them to become real threats!

    I say splash black for kroxa and grief, trim 2 ragavans and 1 esper sentinel, trim 1 solitude, 1 voyager staff, and the flickerwisp for 3x stitcher's supplier, 2x kroxa, 1x grief.
    Nahiri with those elementals is scary. nahiri bringing kroxa back as well is even scarier.

    I always enjoyed using Sundial with Glorious End/Chance for Glory like-effects. In a competitive setting though, it is probably a little too jank to have more than a 1 or 2 of (it most certainly cannot be the focus of the deck with so little support for finding Sundial), but sometimes when you are ahead on board, one extra untap is all you need to close out a game. I could also potentially see a prison-style deck between Sundials/Silences on an isochron scepter, but once again, probably too jank. Ideas Unbound seems like it could be insane with Sundial, but you would probably have to do a total rebuild so that the deck can take advantage of the discarding in the event you don't have Sundial, but that makes it weak to graveyard hate.
    I also feel like having a 1-of artifact land for Saga to fetch is always handy.

    • @sutfolsemaj
      @sutfolsemaj Pƙed rokem

      Saga cannot fetch lands because lands have no costs. It looks for a card with a cost that is exactly 0 or 1 generic mana. Lands don't have a cost, so their cost can't be 0 (though their mana value is)

      @@sutfolsemaj I see, thanks for that clarification. I always keep forgetting about that slight rules adjustment from a few years ago.

      @XxNovaz tl;dr at the bottom if you want to miss this essay lol
      It's not any rules adjustment as far as I'm aware that's responsible for this ruling. The thing that makes urza's saga not be able to grab an artifact land, as opposed to something like Tezzeret, the seeker (planeswalker with -x: search your library for an artifact with converted mana cost (now referred to as mana value) x and put it into play, then shuffle) is that the card itself is worded differently. All those other cards still work exactly like they did when they were printed, but saga doesn't work like them because the wording specifies a cost, rather than just telling you the number you'd get when you add up the mana symbols and the value in the generic symbol(s). If you add up all the symbols in a card with no cost, you'll get a total of 0, which is valid, so anything can have a cmc/mv, even if it doesn't have a cost. But not everything has a cost, and not having a cost is different from costing (0). Since you can't pay a cost that isn't there, you can't perform all the steps to cast a spell that has no cost (lotus bloom, for example) by normal means. The only way to cast spells with no cost is to find some alternate casting cost to replace with a nonexistent one. This is most often found on cards with the suspend mechanic. Since they didn't want to to be able to get a lotus bloom or a mox tantelite off of an urza's saga, they worded it to specify two specific costs that neither of them have.
      Sorry for the rant, but tl;dr: no weird rules change here, just saga has dumb wording to stop it from being too good.

      @XxNovaz Pƙed rokem

      @@sutfolsemaj My thanks, I assumed that it had to do when they were cleaning up split-card interactions in 2017 with things that cared about cost (example, because it had 2 different costs and could be considered either one or both depending on the situation).
