Union Rock. Nice easy walk on a spring day.

A 5.5km walk on the Oakwood trail or you can go the other trail Union Rock)which is a bit shorter at 5km.
When leaving the car park you come to a crossroads. The left is the union Rock trail and the right is the Oakwood Trail .
Either way is the same only the distance.
A nice easy walk on both. Some minor hills.
Lovely wood each side .
The next signpost is left up to the rock or right on the Oakwood trail . Plenty of deers around if you are lucky to see .
A small walk up to the boardwalk to the spectacular view off Sligo.
On view from the top is
1- Colloney to the left
2-Ballisodare straight ahead
3- Ballisodare bay
4- knocknarea mountain
5- Benbulben
6- Tuskmore
Plus Many more. Even on a bad day like today it’s still a great view but on a summer day it is hard beaten .
