Fishing for Brown Trout and Walleye Fishing the Oswego River in Oswego, New York

- I went back up to the Oswego River in Oswego, New york to do some walleye, steelhead, and brown trout fishing. The water had come up higher from my previous trip up and was a little murky..Today I was fishing with my buddy Mike and though we didn't catch any steelhead we did manage a few brown trout and some walleye. All fish were caught and released casting buck tail jigs and swimbaits. The rippin raps didn,t produce for us today. All in all it was a good day and a good time.

I’ve tried fishing so many times on the Oswego river and I never have any luck! It’s so surprising seeing someone pull this volume of fish out! Guess I need to learn from the master lol, nice work!
Lol,,, I'm far from the master, we have plenty of times where the action is not so hot. One thing we do is try to keep track of the water flow to try and limit the not so hit days

Remember people fist fighting during salmon season in the 90's on the other side. Total mad house at times.
I stay clear of anywhere up there during salmon season now...I'm too old for the drama now but I remember those days well

You seem to pick the right days to fish that spot. I was there on the 21st, using the same baits and got 1 brown all day. There were probably 10 guys fishing there that day and less than 10 total fish landed. This video gives me hope to go back and have a good day tho!!
I think this was from the 23rd I think but it wasn't great... we did get a few, but I would a thought it would a been a lot better, I like it on the high side, which it was and perfect color.. besides the fish we caught I didn't see many landed this day either. .. I've been fortunate to have gotten a few each time up though
HEY RALPH, great video brother, man I love fishing channels, I would give anything for some fresh walleye, I used to live in Florida where I fish every day, now that I have moved to Tennessee there is not much fish to be had, but a few crappie and some bass. Not quite as hot as the last trip, but you both still got some beautiful fish. You just never know until you go try it. Sure can't catch them sitting at home. I should know. I did a lot of that sitting at home this year...😭

I always have a good time watching your videos Ralph..These are some fish that I would not be able to fish for in my area...Just curious..I know you said this is the Oswego River...What town is this? How deep is the river where you are fishing..Don't worry I'm not coming up there to take your spot..LOL
It's in Oswego new york, this whole wall area is roughly 18 feet deep depending on the flow that's controlled by the power plant up river, At the bridge just upstream from me is the start of the canal system
Which model of the okuma sst are you using? I'm looking to get something similar to this rod myself. Need something longer than a bass rod for bank fishing on "our" river ;) tight lines
it's a 9.6 foot float fishing rod

How could the fish grow that huge man? Whats in that river that turns them into giant ones or is it actually a normal size?
It runs into lake Ontario, which is a huge lake,,it's almost 200 miles long..,And all these fish come into the river from this lake
