I’m on my way to Toyota today with my 2022 tundra…my dash cam doesn’t work, …they have a corporate tech coming out and I will get a rental. I would rather get my money back and go aftermarket after watching these videos!!
IDK why you would buy the first year of this truck. I wanted to go with the Tundra but ended up getting a Ram 1500 after seeing the issues people were having with the 22 tundra.
Yeah frustrating, but still I look forward to the reliability of the engine and trans ( it’s a proven lexus engine with decent gas mileage) and all the other parts, I always buy Toyota and am never replacing parts.
@@TristanGrimaldo they were able to just reset the password and they showed me how to hard reset it. Sales dude said they didn’t want to put in the manual how to hard reset because it could be a way of erasing the videos if stolen. It works now I just gotta try it out more. I even got live view working. So far so good.
Glad I didn’t waste my time with that on my Pro. Separate quality question…do you hear a dull humming noise while pressing down the brakes? I noticed it a few weeks ago and it doesn’t seem to want to go away. I’m having Toyota check it tomorrow and I only have 4500 miles on the truck. Thanks
@@TristanGrimaldo I was told it is the hybrid regenerative breaking system. It really started once it got cold here in New England. Just something I will need to deal with through the winter…🤷🏻♂️
@edwardduber8007 I was able to finally connect mine. I use android and I had to totally disable android auto to be able to connect. Both can't be running at the same time. It's ridiculous
If I’m not mistaken you have to delete the app and re-download it. I believe then it would give you a default passcode and after that you can create your personal one.
I’m thinking that these are some steps to take 1 turn on engine 2turn off btooth on phone 3 press the Wi-Fi button on the dash cam on your window 4 open the app on your phone and connect ……it won’t connect , ….so you go to settings and find the Wi-Fi connection called Toyota integrated dash cam And as you drive, you cannot turn on Bluetooth for Apple CarPlay. My guess is that we have to use the cord and connect to Apple CarPlay play with the cord. I’ve had a lot of issues with this as well. My next step is to try to use my cord to power Apple CarPlay and that’s with the Bluetooth off. I think this is our only option. If you guys have any advice for me please reply. Thanks. I have gone to the dealership a couple times maybe three and they don’t know what they’re doing so this is as far as they’ve been able to help me and good luck dealing with them. I love my truck I don’t like the Dashcam but it does work I just wanted to use Bluetooth.
Do you know if there are any preventative features that block someone else from using it if stolen and used on another car? Had my previous dash cam (non-Toyota) stolen.
I think the security feature would be that you would only be able to view the footage from your app with your user name and password. They wouldn’t be able to view their own footage which makes it pointless. If anyone ever stole your Toyota dash cam, the footage would show up on your app haha.
Hey Eugene! Congrats on the Capstone. yeah unfortunately not man. It’s one or the other when you’re trying to view the dash cam app. I’m really only the the dash cam app when I need to view footage but yeah, realized that too
I opted for one in my '23 PRO too. It helps to turn off BT and any network connections to connect to the dashcam. Have you tried using a larger SD card? I was told that it wouldn't work.
Try to uninstall the app and install it again. Usually that resolves it. If not, may need to take it to your local Toyota dealership for a software update. I had to for mine
The previous camera stopped connecting and recording. They kept my truck several days for diagnostic purposes with no solid answer. Even contacted some higher ups. They came to the conclusion it was a unit failure and replaced the entire thing. This is a whole new system
I took your advice and I gave it to Toyota and it’s working, so far so good thanks for the advice!
That’s awesome! 👍 glad to help

How did your visit go with the dealership?
100% agree with you. I feel confident with the new Tundra.

You should try to connect the dash cam to your 14inch screen and see how well that works!
Interesting! Never thought about that. I’ll have to look into it to see if it’s even possible. 👍
Thanks for the review...
Thank you for watching
I would think they could create a Toyota app on the trucks display to run the camera.
I agree 👍

Its a great camera…when it works lol. Hope you got your problem diagnosed. I don’t hear that sound with my brakes.

2024 and the camera and app still suck. Just picked up a Land Cruiser and can't connect this camera to save my life
OMG Ditto…2024 Land Cruiser…..app WILL NOT CONNECT.

Great idea but have heard the Toyota cameras are a pain and a nightmare. Better off going aftermarket imo
if I knew what I knew now, may have not opted for it initially. Again, it’s not bad. Works well when it works lol
@@TristanGrimaldo I wished they were less of a headache, great idea just a bad system
@@TristanGrimaldo is there any reason this camera would not work in a 2020 RAV4 ?
Master certified Toyota sales here. Having issues with one of my clients in their new Sienna. Very similar to your experience here.
Man that sucks. Was it resolved?
@TristanGrimaldo we reformatted the SD card and the customer is doing better

Definitely learned that now haha. In regards to the larger SD, I was also advised not to use anything other than what came with the camera.
@@TristanGrimaldoso I took mine out and tried removing it and it broke. What highest SD CARD do you recommend?
I cannot connect my dashcam bro everytime it's say my password is incorrect

where is the failure? Didn't catch that part.

Will this fit and work on a 2024 Tundra Limited?
Why in hell should it be such a pain in the ass ? Damn it Toyota it's 2023 !
Agreed! Haha
🤩🤩🤩
Sound like the new Tundra is just one big Glitch……..I’ll be staying with my gas guzzling V-8 Tundra!
First year runs will always have their issues. However, I honestly feel confident this truck will meet if not exceed expectations.
