They had the right setting, they had the portal feature, and advertised more user friendly server set up. But leave it to EA to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory by trying to make it a hero shooter.
The hero shooter aspect is really just "What wacky third gadget I want"... gadgets that would have probably been in the game regardless

What sucks about most of the battlefield games is that no one in my country plays battlefield so I either have to play on 500+ ping or play with 2 people

How does an anticheat system that kicks normal people for absolutely nothing on a regular basis NOT find the people who are so obviously cheating that you can tell by watching for 30 seconds? I mean, I'm sure making a perfect anticheat is borderline impossible but for one of the world's biggest gaming studios (EA) to make one that doesn't just fail, but do the OPPOSITE of what it's supposed to do is mind-boggling.

It's funny you brought up the story because I really think this game could have benefited from a campaign. Really interesting themes like nationality, environmental decay, pushing to save what's left to no avail...

Many great reasons I stopped playing BF titles after BF1!! I had been a loyal BF player since BF 1942 came out, but not anymore! Thanks Nano for showing us how shitty the games we once loved have become!!
Same, but I stopped after Hardline, bought BF1 when the revolution edition was on sale, bought BFV when it was cheap after release and bailed again.
BFV was like this, just that they somehow fixed it, just to make it worse again, then fixed it again, then broke it again, then finally fixed it and then abandoned it too early once it was actually on a good way.
When this one came out in the state it was, I knew there was no way EA could get it right.
BF 1 was the last good one. Since then I lost hope in the franchise as well...
@@Far1988 I pre-ordered BFV with whatever pre order stuff they gave out and played around 30 hours before never playing again! Waste of more than $100 on the pre order!! I wasn't even playing when they announced they were stopping the roadmap and moving on to 2042, but that's what pissed me off the most! They made all these promises pre game that they probably knew they were never going to accomplish! But hey, they got my $100 so why do they care??
Or maybe just play them for yourself and make your own assumptions rather than listening to everything people tell you on the Internet.

@@GojiraBiscuits. Is it free to play? last i heard its not. Being a brainless consumer works both ways, the reason why companies keep making trash is because brainless consumers buy it anyway. Buying a game that most consider broken or bad just to try to for yourself isn't good argument even if you have cash to burn. Sure don't take one persons opinion as fact but i've always been against things like pre ordering or buying games out of loyalty. If bad games didn't do well companies would have to make good games instead of making one every year because they know people will buy it even if it doesn't really add anything or is broken.
The great thing about this game is DICE have made a game intentionally so bad that all they have to do with the next battlefield is do everything completely opposite of this game, genius innovation
I just hope the next battlefield fails and nobody will buy it just because of how they scammed us with 2042

@@georgewhitworth9742 It just happens to be my kind of game. Always liked fast paced games with tight gunplay. Know it’s not what battlefield is known for, hence the community backlash, but it happens to be what I like, and having played many an early access indie game, I’ve never cared about bugs.

It goes far beyond cheating at this point (well one year ago). Whole groups are battling over control of the PC servers. So meta. If u really want to achieve something, clone the server side code and let everyone run their own dedicated servers like the old days please.

5:25 this wouldn't be an issue if the game wasn't a hero shooter and both sides wore easily identifiable uniforms, similar issue with identifiying classes thats been a problem since bfv
As if we didn't also have issues with identifying classes in prior BF titles which had identifiable uniforms. BF1 heavily comes to mind, and even in titles like BF3 and 4 people would constantly fire on friendlies that ran past them because they couldn't tell who was on which team.

EA and DICE screwed up BFV from the start after they insulted their fans for not liking their awful revisionist take of WW2. If they just did what we wanted from the start, BFV would've been so much better and not have to try and win their fans back after a year or so.

Yep, i was banned from BF2042 because of "cheating" I asked for proof or anything cause I was thinking maybe they were picking up like my random Logitech software or something. They said they double checked and were 100% sure i was hacking lol. I had been playing BF since 1942 and that shit made me never play their dog shit franchise ever again. Found Hell Let Loose, so ill just thank BF "anti-cheat" for helping me stop playing their game lol

Love you videos man. But I play battlefield everyday almost and I never run in to any of these problems except for the wait time for empty lobbies but you just have to leave and rejoin and it will put you in a fuller game.
As someone who works on Fiber Optic Cabling the hollow glass tube within the cable is actually fairly malleable; you can wrap it around your finger multiple times without it breaking like string, unless it’s an older fiber and it’s dried then it is brittle as all hell and your life is made difficult

I finally uninstalled a few months ago after match making on PS5 was still broken. If you don't have cross play with PC enabled the game just put you into an empty lobby and it never would put a single other person in there. they don't even allow you to use a keyboard/mouse, and the aim assist is virtually nonexistent. fuck that shit, there is no excuse they could possibly make to make that right.
Sounds more like an issue with Sony... but yeah, BF2042 is not in a good place- and likely won't be at all.

Same here. I don't have any of these issues. Game runs smooth but is it perfect, no. Show me a game that is. I enjoy BF2042 and I've been playing BF every weekend with the same bunch of guys since 2003.

I remember countless fun rounds in BF3. Was it perfect, no, but now man. Chaotic all over the place design, No compelling theme or style. cheating is rampant and no one remembers the vision and what is was. I am so glad indie games became a thing and we still have some access to semi modern mil sim and quasi mil sim games.
